Convenient location, friendly staff, great breakfast!

Prompt, smooth, and efficient check-in. The room was really comfortable. We had one king bed yet cozy, business like yet personal. The bedding was really comfortable. Super friendly staff, to name some, Josh and Eddie. We needed a quick bite to eat and a cocktail, so the front desk called to see if there were any open restaurant around which he did and he gave us the directions which was super easy to walk to. Thank you again to the staff for going just that little step extra for their guests! I loved this hotel and will come back to check after the remodeling.

I came to San Diego for business training frequently and I always wanted to stay in this great hotel, but they are frequently sold out. The setup of the room was really nice with convenient space. The setup really helped with the quietness of the hotel, and it was actually quiet. The room was very clean, and the employees were very friendly, special thank you to Josh and Eddie. There are tons of restaurants in the area too. I totally recommend this place and will come back for future visits.

We stayed for 3 days at Holiday inn Express Old town. Great loucation, close to everything. Free ride to airport. Staff at front desk Ivan, Elia went above and beyond to help us to plan our days. Definitely coming back!

What can I say! I do highly recommend this hotel. It's the best one that I've been to in the last 6 months! Very clean, the room was spacious, bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly & helpful especially Eddie and Ivan. Close to Old Town San Diego & they have a free shuttle to drop off & pick up. The shuttle also goes to Sea World & the Zoo, for Free!

I'm really impressed with the quality service in this hotel. The rooms were very clean. Prompt check — inn services and super helpful front desk, mainly Eddie and Art. They were very knowledgeable and informative. Their breakfast was excellent. I would recommend this hotel. Now one of my favorites for a quick stay in San Diego. Lots of restaurants and shops close by!

I stayed in this hotel during my trip to Southern California. I had a great experience with the super friendly staff, especially Eddie and Art. Eddie was very nice and helpful, made us coffee and arranged our shuttle service which was super fast. I have to say, the staff were top notch! I would definitely come again. My wife and I stared here for a short vacation while exploring San Diego. The staff Ivan very friendly and we enjoyed the bright fun atmosphere. The rooms were clean and modern. The location is excellent for those looking to experience the great variety of nearby restaurants.

Upon entering it came off really nice. We came in late so when they gave us a room that was a level lower than the lobby I thought nothing of it. I was reminded of where we were put when very early in the morning there was none stop banging, sound of feet running, and dropping things. It was constant. We first thought it was another rude guest above us with their children, but realized we were below the lobby. Stay far away if you want to sleep in enough to at least have the sun coming up. Also I found it kind of ironic that I made fun of their sign for a complimentary sleep-help kit and ended up wishing I had asked for it. Probably comes with earbuds.

Great place. Stayed one night here. Close to everything. Walked to dinner and around the shops. They Offer a shuttle to the airport every hour which was very helpful our drivers Freed and nafwal. Front desk Staff Ivan and Eddie were great.

Hotel is on top of the interstate: noise isn't too bad with the windows closed. They are renovating right now (3/18). They time their work as to not disturb sleeping hours, but there is definitely the scent of fresh paint. It may bother some. Rooms were clean and modern.

Rooms had been newly renovated and smelled like paint. When I asked for a new room, staff was accommodating however the new room also smelled like paint. I left and stayed at a different hotel.

If you're going to San Diego to see you son graduate from Marine Boot Camp, you absolutely need to stay here. I called beforehand and asked about being shuttled between the airport, hotel, and MCRD. I didn't really want to rent a car, as I wasn't going to San Diego to sight see, but simply to see my son graduate. They assured me I didn't need a rental car, as they would pick me up and shuttle me back and forth. I was VERY skeptical, but they did exactly that. I was never worried for one minute once I got there. These guys are GREAT. Take one person's word for it, if you're just going for your son's boot camp graduation, you do NOT need to rent a car if you stay with these guys. If I could give a SIX STAR review, I would.

Room was nice & roomy. Check-in was pleasant with ivan. Have free breakfast buffet, great rooms clean and large. However, parking was not free ($15 for 1 days).

Been to many holiday inn expresses across country for work, this one stood out for the excellent service. Everyone at desk were friendly and even looked happy. The Jacuzzi room was excellent!

This hotel is located very conveniently near Old Town, and Airport. The front desk service is above and beyond. A shout out to Ivan at the front desk for being so helpful and kind and in between. As a tourist to San Diego, he gave us a sense that people here are happy to help, Would stay here again.

Hotel is in a great location to old town. You can walk to restaurants and attractions. Friendly and very helpful staff Ivan and Nawfal. Comfortable and quite rooms. Many choices for breakfast.

Got a room here with friends on short notice after it turned out that our original booking (at a different hotel) wasn’t going to work. This hotel was very accommodating and was happy to help, even with though we were asking for changes on the same day. We were able to get showered and have a good night's sleep, and get breakfast the next morning, all without the worries that made our other booking unsuitable.

Good location Airport Shuttle: You must call when you arrive at the airport to send the shuttle! Clean and comfortable.

Loved loved loved the staff! Everyone was always friendly & wanted to help. Also Eddie told us about the most amazing places to eat thank you so much Eddie. Rooms were very clean & it was a normal size room. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

Front desk was exceptionally nice and helpful, room was great, bed was comfy. There was a fridge and microwave, which was nice. But the microwave it was kinda not working so Eddie comes and fixes it great john man. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choices. Only staying overnight to make our plane connection, but I would stay here if we needed to be in the area again.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The rooms have a great set up and a very cozy feeling to them. The bathroom is small, but is functional. My door did not work so I called the front desk and they send Eddie he was really funny and nice helped us with the door thanks again. While we stayed, we received a complementary breakfast buffet that had a variety of different foods and drinks that satisfied everyone's needs. They also have an outdoor pool. The hotel is located close to the town for restaurants, bars, and shops, but is far enough away so that you don't get interrupted by the outside noise. The hotel also has a shuttle that will take you to multiple locations so that you don't have to worry about transportation.

This was my very first visit to San Diego for a Travel Convention and I chose to stay at this Holiday Inn; instead of the Host Hotel. I was Not disappointed. I truly appreciated the Complimentary Breakfast, and Snacks, and most of all the Shuttle Van! The guys name was Eddie he was a great guy very nice and he even helped me unload my bags in the van and out the van when we got to the hotel, great work keep it up! well I may Not have used all of their services, but it was nice to know they were there when/or if I needed them. The decor was pleasant as well as the Guest Services Personnel. I will definitely recommend and stay here again. Thanks Holiday Inn!

Excellent value and location. Walkable to transit station, harbour and Old Town. Set on the side of a hill and has lovely views if you look for them. Jose on the front desk was brilliant and helpful and the breakfast team do a superb job. House cleaning team were efficient and thorough. Gym did the trick too.

We only stayed here one night the day we landed in San Diego but it was a great stay. The room were very clean and so was the entire property. The breakfast 6 to 10am was also very good. They had a lot of hot selections and a wide variety. The staff was pleasant. Ivan, kelyne Parking is $10. We woke up early and headed to Zoo so we did not get to use the pool or shuttle to Old Town but it is literally across couple blocks so very close to Old Town area. Overall great night stay.

I was a little nervous about staying here after reading some of the reviews. The hotel is currently being renovated but it did not impact in any way on my stay. The room I stayed in was clean, fully equipped and perfectly comfortable. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Ivan was very friendly.

The free breakfast was good! The staff was nice. The rooms smelled moldy. They did their best to cover with a pine scent. It was underlying the pine. I am not sure if it is because it is near the ocean and don't know if it is fixable. Other than the room smelling it was nice?

Usually stay at other Holiday inn Express around San Diego for work and they are good with the exception of tight full parking lots. This particular HIE had a plumbing issue they needed to attend to and had to shut down the water. They mentioned it wasn't an emergency yet but didn't give any warning before shutting down all the water to the hotel. So long story short I went to my appointment less than fresh. I got to my room at 4am and woke up at 6:30am to get ready for my appointment and found out water would not be restored until 9:30am. I could of slept in my truck with the same results and save some cash. No refund or discount just paid full price.

We went to San Diego California for my sons boot camp graduation from the marines. We stayed here for 3 days and enjoyed it. The rooms are clean. The staff is courteous and helpful. The breakfast had something for everyone and the hot tub was great. The beds clean and comfortable but The pillows were awesome. The shuttle was convenient and the drivers pleasant. Not far from the train to do anything from shopping to eating to a bar. Lots to see and do and this place made the trip pleasant.

However, a jeans (trousers) disappeared after the passage of the maid, without the hotel giving an explanation. The personal belongings should be safe in our rooms, and that was clearly not the case.

Location is not the best, it is sort of close to all the action but not in a walking distance, you need to take the car, which is an inconvenience with the traffic and little parkingparking. The hotel itself has all the expected commodities, Wi-Fi, parking, fitness center, mini restaurant and some others.

Stayed here for MCRD graduation. Friendly service. Clean. Fantastic shuttle service. Shuttle Driver Fernado was the best and so friendly and helpful. I would recommend staying here when your Marine graduates exclamation point.

Just in front of the highway, and no way to close curtains to complete dark the room. Gym is including only cardio equipment. However you can expect the typical free breakfast of a Holiday inn with scrambled eggs, juices, an automatic pancake maker, bacon and some yogurt and apples very simple. Room very clean as well as the bathroom. And I am glad that now the cable is on HD! Internet Wi-Fi was with acceptable speed.

Decent rooms and a well maintained facility. The room I was in overlooked the nearby I5, which had traffic at pretty much all hours. It's not exactly a vacation destination, but that's not what I was there for, I only needed a place to overnight before an early flight the next morning. It handled that objective just fine. Better isolation from the freeway noise would have been appreciated.

Great customer service. I Left my phone in lobby, next to the printer while I was printing my boarding pass. And The front desk guy Ivan was very honest and held it for me. Thank you Ivan and housekeeping nofawl staff for great service. The room is comfortable and the beds as well. Breakfast was clean and, Shuttle Service was great.

The location was close to the airport. As soon as we got our luggage we called the hotel for a shuttle and he arrived within 10 minutes. Our room was clean and as advertised and we enjoyed our overnight stay. The staff at the hotel was very nice and friendly and helped us with anything we needed. If I was flying into San Diego again and needed a one night stay I certainly would stay at the Holiday Inn Express again.

We stayed here on our recent trip to San Diego. Free breakfast with Lots of options. Good size and well maintained rooms. Just minutes away from downtown, the airport, USS Midway Museum, The zoo, Sea world, The Old Town areas. Great location, ample free & secure parking and close to so many of the wonderful restaurants.

I booked a room at another hotel. But it wasn't what they said it was… at the last min I calld holiday inn. Never stayed here here… I spoked to the nices lady she was so friendly and polite… but when I got to the location. I met two front dear clerk elia & vangie that was so helpful very nice and professional. I was able look at a room. Soon as I walkd in, the room it was so nice/clean and big it was exactly what I wanted. Two bathrooms a living area and a separate room that had a bed aND a jacuzzi tub. If your looking for some where for a anniversary/valentine's day or just a special accusation. I would definitely stay here. U will love it.

I loved how helpful the front counter was. The person that helped me and made sure that I was happy with what I got. Oh and the person was Eddie he was having full intrest that I would get the best. I definitely have no regrets coming Eddie was the best he was so helpful. He had full intrest and I dontt regret coming back. Eddie was so helpful.
