Very comfortable beds/bedding. Extremely helpful staff. Express Start breakfast was disappointing—the pancakes and Cinnabons were missing.

As part of our trip in California, we went to San Diego and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, Mira Mesa. The place is very nice, so clean and most of all I appreciate the courteousness of the staff. From housekeeping, maintenance, food service up to the Operations Manager, Mr. Mario Espinosa. From the time I booked my reservation, Mario express his courteousness and politeness. He deal with the guests professionally. Mario represent Holiday Inn Express Mira Mesa with pride and dedication. These are the reason why I highly recommend Holiday Inn Express Mira Mesa, San Diego.
Five star rating and two thumbs up for Mario Espinosa and your staff! I will surely comeback and stay in Holiday Inn Express Mira Mesa the next time I visited to San Diego.

We're currently staying at this hotel for 7 days and we're very pleased. The rooms were clean the staff are friendly and do their best to make you feel welcomed. Edwin at the front desk was accommodating to all our room requests and the room attendant and breakfast staff also say hello and ask if there's anything they can help with. Yadi one of the Managers went out of her way to reach out to my son this morning to offer a small gift (toy car). As a frequent business traveler, its great to see hotel staff go the extra mile to make their guests have a wonderful stay. I'd recommend Holiday Inn Express Mira Mesa to anyone staying in San Diego.

Great value. My kid absolutely loved the pancake machine. Service was good.

The staff was friendly and they had a nice breakfast arrangements. But the rooms lacked the niceness of other Holiday Inn Expresses. The rooms were warm and did not have central air conditioning. I also found cigarette burns on the sheets in a "non-smoking" room. It's a mixed bag, never know what you will get.

The staff at the front desk is very friendly. The hotel looks nice on first look. I've stayed here 2 separate times and both times my room had very dirty carpet. Didn't want to take my shoes off. The walls had lots of paint chips. Trash and beer bottle caps were under the bed… I just happened to see it since the bed skirt didn't reach from the mattress to the floor. Thankfully the bathrooms were clean. Overall it's not bad but just needs a good cleaning.

The breakfast was amazing and Savannah behind the counter was very kind and accommodating. My issue is that I had to call for the maids to do the simplest of things in my room. Things I expected were part of normal housekeeping. They came in and made the beds but I had to call for 9ur overflowing trash cans to be changed after 4 days. I had to call for the bathroom to be cleaned and restocked and when they did the left 1 towel and 1 washcloth for our family of 5 and we had to call down for more. My child vomited in my bed and I called down for a bedding change. A maid can up and handed my 3 sheets and a pillowcase (uhm what? ) and then left not even taken the dirty bedding with her. I left the sheets behind and had to go down to the front desk and request it be fixed/changed. Our room was not vacuumed the entire stay. (5 days) even though it was evident we had crumbs and sand from the beach on our floors. Very dissatisfied with the cleaning/upkeep.

Expensive for the quality of room. Toilets are way too low. Only one small trash basket in room — none in bathroom. Not enough parking. Good area for shopping and restaurants. Free breakfast is good. Free daily newspaper. The room has a refrigerator.

Friendly staff, close to good food but the hotel itself feels like a basement. And then there's the parking lot. Extremely small and it's shared with the place next door, so get there early because the alternative parking is on the other side of Denny's. Okay for 1 or 2 nights.

I had to attend a business event in the area and booked at the Holiday Inn Express Mira Mesa. The staff is friendly, the rooms are standard, but the parking was limited. At times there was little to no parking for hotel guests, and I did not see that the parking was monitored for hotel guest parking tags. There is not any near alternative parking without the risk of being towed. It was a nice stay, very quiet, but if you are staying, prepare to be in early to get a parking space for the night.

It's located 15miles away from the airport. Good food options within a mile radius. Denny s is right next to the hotel. It's located in a prime location with respect to top teeth companies as well as entertainment and food places. Only issue is the traffic around the hotel.

What we liked: 1. Spacious room. 2. Big beds. 3. Clean 4. Has all the amenities needed. 5. Staff are truly kind. 6. Not too far from alot of places. What we did not liked: 1. This place is having renovation at this moment. Alot of hammering sounds 2. Our king bed had a squeeking sound. Everytime we move. Check the video I uploaded. I had a hard time sleeping. 3. Food are limited. 4. Parking is so cramp — not much space for vehicles to park. Big cars will have a hard time in their parking area. 5. Pricier than most hotels near by. However the kind staffs and the cleanliness made up for the things we did not liked.

Saying because the price was reasonable and it's close to family in the area, but we were pleasantly surprised. Although under renovation currently the noise was fine, the rooms were very clean, and the staff was very friendly. Very close to a couple restaurants, and just off the freeway.

Currently under construction. Room is very dusty/dirty. Morning/daytime receptionist is very nice.

Great hotel, and very good service, the front desk and the lady at the breakfast were spectacular.

Stayed one night at this hotel on a recent trip. The entire place is currently going through renovations right now. Expect lots of dust and dirt on the elevators and some of the hallways. The room we stayed in must have just finished renovations as it was missing basic items; a light bulb missing from the bedside lamp, no soap in the bathroom, giant hole from where the fridge used to be. The room had blackout curtain which worked pretty well though. Construction workers were already up and transporting materials in the elevator by the time I woke up in the morning. On the bright side, they were pretty quiet as to not wake anyone up. Not the best hotel during renovations right now, might be better once they finish though.

Great place to stay, love the service cleanliness and the appearance of the hotel, must stay at this place if you are visiting San Diego area, close to anything and everything you wish for.

Overpriced and not very clean. Dirty sheets, towels, and trash bags in the hallway until after midnight. I'm a IHG member and stay in their places a lot. So I'm not trying to be nit-picky.

The Wi-Fi does not work where the desk is located, had to move closer to the door to get a connection. Room A. C. Unit is very noisy, had to turn it off to sleep. The fan in the bathroom always runs and is very loud. I will not be returning.

Staff was great and very helpful with any questions I had. Remodel is under way and is a little noisy during the day. Distance to food and drinks make this place nice and a good price for being so close to the interstate.

The hotel is normal but what's really special is the staff super cheerful very engaging kind and make the stay amazing.

It appeared that the hotel was being remodeled. Service was great but the room was unfinished. There was no hot water and low water pressure. Also the bathroom had only one low watt light bulb. I couldn't see to shave.

Located on Mira Mesa Blvd, not far from Qualcomm headquarters. Free breakfast and Wi-Fi included. Clean and spacious room with the usual amenities.

Rooms are clean but nothing special, lobby looks amazing and there is a shared happy hour with the hotel next door. Bathroom doesn't have an exhaust vent so it gets really hot when you shower and then opening the door set off the smoke detector from the heat which was annoying at 6am.

The management was very friendly! Breakfast was good, had eggs, bacon, sausage. And rooms were clean.

Booked 5 rooms and they gave us room keys to rooms that were already occupied. This also happened to at least 1 other person not affiliated with our group. Totally unacceptable. I understand they just took over this property but this is a serious safety issue.

Staff was all extremely friendly and cheerful — very welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic and the dining area was cute. Room was a little musty smelling and could use some updates, but beds were comfy and linens were clean. Good location within 20 minutes to beaches and Zoo. Also, a Denny's and Pizza Hut in same lot!

The service here is friendly, but the hotel is old and in need of a complete overhaul. The elevator takes forever. And the utility room is super loud and right next to several rooms. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The pillows are uncomfortable. The highlights are the breakfast bar has a pretty good selection for free, and the shower head is amazing!

The hotel staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is simple but good. Love the cinnamon rolls. The location is nice, lots of places to stay around. Definitely would stay again.

The staff was great and attentive. The room. Was clean, if somewhat cold and sterile. Kind of felt like a hospital roommore than a hotel room. My biggest complaint is the pool. I booked the room based on price, availability, and a pool. No mention was made that the pool was out of service. Had I known, I wouldn't have stayed here. My boys were disappointed, which is a deal breaker for me.

Not the worst place in the world. I have been in better hotels. Here's a list of issues. Woken up by construction at 730 am (saw). Dirty floors. Broken shower. Broken bathroom fan. Broken phone. Wallpaper peeling off walls. Room number photocopied and taped to wall. Terrible parking. I will not stay here again. That's about it. Oh… saw the pool. What a joke.

No temperature control. Otherwise room is clean and basic. Checkout is at noon. No exhaust in bath fogging mirrors for long time.

Employee's are nice but rooms are bad. Carpet is very old and gross, their is mold in bathroom tile, mini fridge doesnt work and I killed 2 little spiders the first day.

Rooms are clean and staff is friendly so all in all a good hotel. Continental breakfast leaves much to be desired but there are several good restaurants right across the street.

Arriving at the hotel, I was greeted well and taken care of right away. The staff remembers me and are very nice, even though I stay here a couple of times a year. They have better memories than I. The breakfasts are great and I cannot say enough about the cinnamon rolls. The location of this hotel is perfect for me as it is central to my work area.

Great location off freeway. Dennys in parking lot. Comfort suites in same parking lot as well. Nice hotel and convenient.

I had no problems with this place. Rooms are nice and big too. It's cheap and near the highway, so it's very convenient.

Only been here one night so far, but service has been good so far. Friendly staff complimentary breakfast. Only complaint I have is I wish the room had more convient plugs. If you're a heavy tech guy planning to stay here pack a surge protector.

The room was nice, everything about the breakfast station was great. The staffs are all friendly, helpful and accommodating especially julia and isabel. I will definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends and relatives staying here in San Diego.

They are still finishing up their remodel, but the end product will be very nice. Service was nice, and the continental breakfast was very good.

My stay was great as always. The only thing that bothered me was how far air conditioning was from the bed because the room was big and it was stuffy. Other than that, great hotel, good parking, near the freeway.

HORRIBLE! My phone didn't work, the fridge didn't work and they allowed kids to do their laundry across from my room all through the night even after I called to complain twice (1:00 a. M. ). All of the outlets are put in upside down. The t. V. Is small and you don't even get a comforter on your bed. The room doesn't have one picture on the wall! The room is depressing! Not even a fan in the bathroom. I am supposed to be here for several days but will be looking for a new place to stay.

We checked, my husband lie down in the bed. When he open the sheets he open the Bedsheet yellow stain is there, curly hair in the pillow. My question is, are this hotel have well trained room checker? Really it is sad to see that this hotel was good before and its our favorite. Looking very dirty, bathroom condition and cleanliness was gotten worst. Refrigerator has food when we open it.

This rating is based only on the level of customer service I have recieved. I never actually stayed at the hotel. My friend held a room for me and I called in to book it. I was asked for my credit card number for a deposit and I asked if my card would be charged. They told me it would not. I called back to cancel my reservation two weeks before I was supposed to stay. I spoke with Edward who told me he could not find a reservation under my name, but that I was just added to my friends room as a guest and my card was under her reservation. I told him that I wanted to cancel my reservation and have my card removed from her room. He said no problem I took your card off any reservation and "your room" has been cancelled. Even though technically he could not find my reservation. Two days later I was charged for the entire amount even though I had just cancelled my reservation and I had never stayed at the hotel. I called in to get the matter resolved and I spoke with Monica who claimed to be the on call manager. I have no clue who appointed her as a manager because she was rude and had no business communicating with customers at any level. She told me that Edward the employee who had helped me cancel my reservation was new and all of the information he gave me was incorrect. She never tried to help in any way. She said the room was non-refundable which no one had ever told me. It was a nightmare from the beginning to the end.

I read the reviews and have to say that I thank god have had nothing but excellent experiences staying at the Holiday Inn Express Mira Mesa-san diego. Christine is EXCELLENT (I love her) as well as SULLY (I brought the scizzors back to front desk Sully) both of these front desk employees are employees any hotel chain would LOVE to get their hands on. The head of house keeping is great too as well as the maids. All the maids. I spoke with "Laura" who is manager of this hotel and the one next door, the "courtyard", and she is very professional. She has a tough job with two hotels to manage but honestly not one of the things I see listed in previous reviews are what I have experienced during my two stays there recently. Both my stays were for four days at a time. One was business and one was personal trip. Both within the last month. I had something come up and I got charged full price when I most likely shouldn't have but at the time the employee was doing his job. I understood and will handle on higher level. Other than that I give this hotel A plus. im adding to my review months later. Kim Masterson Curci. I give it 5 stars not 4 and wouldnt stay anywhere else when n that area. I really do love the employees there.

I came down to San Diego to relax during the New Years holiday. I have a very stressful job serving in the military and do not get much time to relax. On my last night, I had a female guest stay overnight. In the morning when she left, she went to the front desk and claimed she was on the account and was checking out and without checking ID or asking who she was, the front desk clerk gave out some personal information about me. I found out because I got a text from her shortly after. Appalled, I called down to the front desk, and the guy confessed and told me what happened. I asked if he had asked for ID or looked at the account and seen that there was no woman listed. He sheepishly said, “No”. He said he told his manager and that she would contact me to resolve this. No one ever contacted me. Not only is giving out personal information against company policies, but it is ILLEGAL. I attempted to contact a manager to resolve this but was given the run around multiple times. I called 7 times and spoke to 2 different people who claimed to be managers, and they assured me it would be resolved and that I would be refunded for my stay. No one ever called me back. This situation has caused me great personal harm. That’s all I will say on here. This hotel has untrained staff, terrible, ethics, and will not protect your personal privacy.
