When you hear rustic you think old and broken, not this place! New, updated, cozy and cute place to stay. Gourmet food and socialable staff. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back. Worth every penny!

Great place! Great rooms! Great food! And Great staff!

Went up for skiing at Squaw Valley, weather was not good for us, and staying at the Cottage Inn helped put lots of fun in our trip. Breakfast was fantastic each morning and we had lots of fun socializing with the guests from all over the country. We liked it so much we targeted Happy Hour each night at 5:00, brought extra food, and skipped going out for dinner. Gracious host, and great staff.

Where to start? AMAZING PLACE! Beautiful, cozy, clean, relaxing. Excellent service! Susie and her crew will go above and beyond to make your stay awesome! Did I mention breakfast? Or the snacks at 5pm? Delicious. And the themed rooms? Each one is different and unique with amazing details. You can tell and will appreciate when the owner takes care of every detail. Will be back again and again.

Great place with friendly staff! Felt like a fairytale cottage and the free breakfast was amazing. They also have a happy hour with snacks and wine and movies to borrow. I can't say enough good things about this place!

This was one of the best cabins experience I had. The "dream catcher" was beautiful. The staff was very helpful! Definitely a perfect place for weekend getaway.

Based on a Google search clearly showing a 'Pet Friendly' icon in the Google summary, we drove over 3 hours — with our two dogs (neither of which is large) — only to be told upon arriving that they do NOT take dogs, and we ended up driving another 3+ hours back home, at the cost of half a tank of gas, and having to pay the nightly room rate of $170.00. Clearly, the owners don't know what's being said about their property, and it is THEIR responsibility to ensure accuracy.

Great place. Ambiance of an old cabin with personal decorations, close to the lake and good continental breakfast. Parking isn't so great for larger vehicles, for sure don't bring a trailer.

Quiet, no kids; quaint but modern & comfy; reasonable rates; 1/2-block from private Tahoe beach!

The most cozy, inviting place in Tahoe. Everyone is wonderful, the lake is directly behind you and breakfast is made with love everyday. A great stay!

The Cottage Inn is picturesque, just off Lake Tahoe. Each of the rooms is individually furnished with its own theme. The breakfast buffet is, with partly hot dishes, more than rich. When you, like me, come here more often, you feel very well looked after and almost like home. That's because of the super nice kind of staff and, of course, Susi, the owner, the soul of the business.
Prices are moderate by American standards. Considering the sumptuous breakfast and the small snacks in the early evening, I would even say it is decidedly inexpensive. Keep it up, Susi!

My husband and I stayed at The Cottage Inn a few weeks ago for our friends wedding. It was so lovely. The staff were very attentive and kind. The cabins each had there own little charm. I felt like we walked into a hallmark movie. My only dislike was that the TV had poor quality and we couldn't enjoy movie time. Perhaps it would have been different if we watched a DVD instead. Altogether I do plan to return here again for a getaway. It's close to Boomtown, but also near North Tahoe city so we could enjoy dinner or a massage and go back to our cabin for R&R. Oh, also I would have like to see a big fire pit that we could sit around and enjoy friends company or others outside. That would have made the experience even better.

I am shocked at two of the reviews. The staff was lovely and blew us away with their hospitality. I'm going to assume the reviewer that said they didn't know what hospitality was must have been rude themselves because there is no way that could be possible based on our stay. We stayed here our wedding night and the room was incredible. Not only was the wine reception great but the breakfast was gourmet! The rooms may not be huge but the atmosphere well makes up for it. We felt like we were in a storybook setting! We will stay here every year for our anniversary! Book the Romantic Getaway cottage, you will not be disappointed.

While the views and rooms may look nice, that doesn't make up for poor service. The people that run this place are rude, inconsiderate and have no idea what hospitality is. There are plenty of better options around this beautiful region with folks who understand basic courtesy and hospitality at comparable prices.

My wife and I had a delightful stay. The room was very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The place is very close to a private lake shore beach which guests have access to. It is a great location. The rooms are not very large but they are comfortable and cozy. The breakfast was also done very well.
