First off I want to start off by saying the staff was extremely rude. We found ants and lots of hair upon checking into the room as well as a dirty coffee pot. The rooms water did not get hot and had barley any water pressure. The people next to us were extremely loud at all hours of the night and when I brought it up to worker he did nothing. The rooms heater and air didn’t turn on and when I booked the room it said free breakfast But of course it didn’t. Also saw the worker smoking pot on his shift… the bed was extremely uncomfortable and I’ve stayed at cheaper hotels that had way better customer service and comfier beds. Will not be staying here again. Oh and parking is terrible here!

What a great location with a wonderful and scenic walking path adjacent to the inn that goes all around the peninsula here at Pacific Grove. My room came complete with ocean views and a balcony to enjoy breakfast on along with all the basic amenities. Glad I stopped over here.

Awesome view and walking distance just across the street of the Monterey bay and lots of picknic area and beaches accessible for biking kayaking volleyball hiking etc etc etc.

We called the hotel directly to speak to a human being, to avoid problems with online booking, we wanted to book the king suite with the bad mamajama bathtub with the jets in it. The guy at the desk said yes its available. We confirmed at least 2 times that "this is the room with the big bathtub with the jets in it right? " "yes it is" Great! we book the room for 1 night. Yay we have a short but very romantic day and evening planed! We drove 3 hours to get to this place, when we get there to check in we do not have the suite just a room with a standard tub in it was booked out 3 weeks before to someone else! The hole point of getting that room was for the bathtub! (I ordered special bathbombs and everything! ) Our romantic get away was completely ruined! To top it off the girl at the front desk was telling us that web based booking sites over book their rooms and they have to turn away customers all the time. I am beyond disappointed and pissed off!

Stones throw from the beach. NOT a 5 star for sure. Was a place to lay my head. Get some sleep and have a nice day.

My husband and I love that it's right across the street from the beach and the restaurant is also across the street. Walking distance! perfect great customer service and I checked in and early check in.

They “lost” my reservation and I’ve emailed twice and called and nobody will call me back or respond to my email about my reservation, which I had made directly with them. We have since booked elsewhere. Wouldn’t recommend this place. One gal who works Monday (4/29 not Liz) evenings is RUDE AF on the phone. I tried to tell her that all I want to do is make sure we have a reservation for those dates since my res is just gone and apparently that was impossible to do! Just CRAZY to have someone like this up front to deal with your guests. Terrible for business. To clarify — she may be the worst hotel worker I’ve ever come into contact with. Good luck!

Loved the room and the awesome king size high quality bed.
But boy was it not cool to wake up at 5:39 am from staff.
Cleaning stuff started rolling the cleaning carts to the halls at 5:39 am.
Was not able to go back to sleep and tired all day.

Fab location, comfy bed, hot water, superb mini breakfast.

Micky at the front desk gets a 5 rating, thus 3 stars. Our room was beat up. If you are getting a double queen room it's beyond tight. Can't beat the location, but condition is… tactfully in word choice… lacking. Talk about potential in a place. Great views. Wait for a remodel or take your chances.

Location is beautiful the beach is right across the street. They serve morning breakfast which is awesome. Hotel is a little outdated but is comfortable and is pretty spacious. We were able to set up a pack and play for our little one and still have enough room to walk around. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Clean and friendly, the continental breakfast could have been a bit better. Great views. It right across the street from Lovers Point Park where they have kayak rentals, a couple restaurants, and a trail that goes for miles in each direction along the ocean front.

From the outside this place doesn't look as nice as it is inside. The rooms were very clean, had a nice fan to keep things cool and the windows opened to let the beach breeze in during the evening. We had a great view of the ocean and the food across the street at the restaurant was AMAZING! The best part was the atmosphere around the hotel super relaxed, and safe feeling. The beach was about 2 minute walk. Overall the hotel is a nice place for you and the family or a nice stay for you and a friend or partner. I will definitely stay again! Highly recommended.

Booked the hotel for two nights, on arrival we settled on the first floor, the room has no curtains! And as it is not comfortable is it… constantly feel the stares of passers-by… back to reception asked for a room higher up, and received the answer that there are no rooms available… but during the day we saw zaselyalas the hotel above… after 1 night had to leave him… I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

It’s very good hotel for your money if you want to stay in Monterey. Nice view from the hotel as it’s next to sea and accessible to different hotels, markets and even shed aquarium. Rooms are nice and clean with nice furniture and clear instructions. Enough space in the room and all the facilities as described in the site mentioned. I liked it as it’s nice view and very reasonable for the money. Nice name as well.

Checking in couldn't have been easier with the help of the amazing staff. The room was nice and clean. I got a two queen bed room and the beds were a little close together but it was fine we weren't planning on staying in the room. We were able to see the ocean from our room, Wich was beautiful! This place isn't too far from the aquarium. It took me about 15 minutes to walk there on a beautiful trail along the beach. I would stay here again!

The room is way too small for the value even with a balcony. The balcony has bird poop all over the place which is really disgusting. Moreover, the worst is that the bed sheet has stains on it. And their breakfast sucks with only outdoor seating. This is the worst stay I have had in my 2 weeks time in the West Coast. I am not sure how the other rooms look like but definitely avoid the rooms with balcony. It is not worth it! One last thing, their elevator sounded like it's going to break apart soon. Take the stairs if I were you.

It's a motel not a hotel. The location is good but has no amenities, VERY noisy. They gave us a room not prepare (we arraive 6pm), there was towels on the floor and the bed was not done. We went to the lobby to tell this, they gave us a new room. The new room was prepared but it has an extra mattress in the middle of the room. We were 2 and we have a tiny space in the room because there is an extra mattress (not bed) on the floor. Never came back, it's better to pay a real motel and not almost $200 for a room with no amenities and space.

This hotel is only a short drive from the aquarium and lots of other fun places in Monterey. I like the friendliness of the staff and the view from our second floor room. There is a pretty park across the street as well. This isn't a fancy hotel by any means but it was clean, close to things and had a great price. We would definitely stay again.

Perfect! Deserves much higher rating! Ocean facing balcony, unbelievable location and view, an absolutely lovely room, CLEAN, beautiful linens and INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE BEDS… far more comfortable than the Hilton we stayed at previously. And, if that wasn't enough — which it surely was — Leslie at the front desk was wonderful. Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, she was a gem. I almost overlooked this place because the photos listed do it no justice but what a find! So pleased with our stay, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a great stay but isn't looking for brand new luxury spa type property.

Great views from all rooms! Affordable place to stay and enjoy the beauty of your surroundings. It is located in an amazing location. The rooms are Functional Obsolescence hence the price, however clean and comfortable. A little snug perhaps but considering the location, it may be worth the slightly cramped conditions. There is an elevator so you don't have to carry all your luggage up stairs. Also walking distance to shops and restaurants. They serve breakfast in the lobby. You may or may not want to eat it. It's free so what can you expect? I would recommend trying it if you are trying to save money and still enjoy traveling to new places. It all about location location location!

Convenient location, clean, and good for the price. Very affordable for a family of 5 to stay on vacation. The only dislike I had were the pillows, very uncomfortable. Parking was free and easy to find and the room was clean and large enough for 3 kids and 2 adults. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely room. Breakfast isn't that good, and the TVs aren't too friendly if, say, you bring a game console (it'll work if you know how to change the input source without a remote; their third-party remotes don't have an input button). Beds were super comfortable, though. Bathroom was small, and the water pressure wasn't the best, but plenty of warm water in the shower.

Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Had a great view of the ocean from our window. It was a 20 minute walk to the Monterey Bay Aquarium so that saved us money on parking. I would recommend this place to couples or small families.

Loved it. This place has an a feel of old California. You have to look for these places. I hope they stay how they are. It is a simple style. The amenities are simple. However, everything is how you want it. Better. It is across the street from the ocean and you can hear the breakers at night.

It's a small And cozzy inn across from lovers point park. I would stay there again the staff was helpful and welcoming I would recommend it. The room we got was about the size of a studio and the bathroom was very small. We only stayed the night. I wouldn't recommend it for an extended stay of over 3 nights.

Great place if you want to walk the famous trail in Pacific Grove or visit Lover's Point. Rooms are easy to access and there is a parking garage with an elevator if needed.

The Inn is in the perfect place. Close to Cannery Row, 1.1 miles good walk, room faced the ocean, Beach right across the street. Comp, cookies, coffee Continental breakfast. Staff was very down to earth "real people" rooms are older but acceptable. Julianne, Lisa & Luis were helpful, & polite definitely returning.

A star for the location and view. Its close to a lot of food places and gives you a beautiful view of the ocean. Another star for the room decoration and another star for friendly staff. But… Its very very loud. Came here to enjoy a quiet weekend with my boyfriend But all night we can here the neighbors from next to us and above us. Every step they take you can here. I can hear our next door neighbor shower and exhaust at 6am. Definitely a mood killer. This is not how I want to relax.

Neighbors were loud, hotel was able to move us, decent location, bathroom could use some updating.

Thin walls, hard bed, bad parking… But the location is amazing and it's a decent price compared to the other options in the area.

Clean & cozy. Fun Halloween decorations in the lobby. Close to everything. We were there on our bikes and there was plenty of space for them in the room, no problem getting a first-floor room.

Great location, the room was comfortable but the heater was broken, the outlets next to the sink was not working at all so you cant use the blowdryer or use any of the plugs. There's only one sidetable next to the bed. And there's not much parking up top but parking in the garage. Trying to turn around in the garage is tricky too. There's an entrance to the garage, but the exit is under construction. So be careful trying to get out of there. Other than that the park is acrossed the street. It's a beautiful view from your room. Staff was nice. Probably won't return here but it was a place to stay for the night.

If you're on Route 1 you should take a stop in Monterey The Lovers Point Inn offers a great location and a terrific view the rooms are nice and the staff was very nice and quite fun! That for $100 the night, great!

Nice location, the rooms are nothing fancy but with a minifridge and microwave they are quite useful. Breakfast is ok, simple but filling if you're not picky. Solid value overall.

Very nice staff! Nice location! There is a very good restaurant right across the street. Also lovers point Park is located right across the street with a beautiful view for sunset and sunrise and sea otters playing in the water. If you are lucky, you get to see whales from there!
We stayed only for one night but we wished we could have stayed a bit longer. The room was nicely decorated and spacious.
Receptionist Juliana was so funny and helpful. She gave us so many recommendations for the next station of our honeymoon roadtrip.

So clean so nice you can walk to everything beautiful place $109 a night for weeknights is a bargain.

Stayed one night for our 25th anniversary. 3rd floor king room, the price you pay is definitely for the view which was beautiful! The room was very small, the door touched the bed when we walked in, the bathroom was very small also. The lady at the front desk, can't remember her name, was extremely busy during check in, she could have used some help, but was very energetic and very friendly. I had one issue that was taken care of, no questions asked, which I really appreciated. We had dinner across the street, it was excellent! My wife loved the view, so we would probably stay there again.

Rates are higher for the condition. Weekend was busy and we couldn't find a parking spot when we came late (although spot was promised). Only great thing was the amazing ocean view from the balcony. That made us think maybe the high room rate was worth it. The lady at the reception was warm and arranged for an extra nights stay.

Fantastic location and comfortable bed. No AC so the room was very musty and stuffy. The windows opened at the far left and right yet the thick blackout curtains only opened in the middle. This means that to not sweat all night the curtains and windows had to be fully open. Lots of street noise and lights were directly outside of the room.

Lovers point inn was nice place to stay. It would have been even nicer if weather was better. We had third floor and the view would have been nice if it wasn't raining and foggy. For a small place it had underground free parking and also an elevator. The continental breakfast was pretty good as well!

It is comfortable, a few meters from the beach beautiful view of the sea recommend it was an unforgettable experience, we plan to return to Monterrey Ca. And ospedarnos at Lovers Point Inn the resepcionistas are very kind, good to all that work there friendly with the uespes.

Amazing location, views of the ocean are incredible. Staff is very friendly. We enjoyed the wine and cheese they offered in the evening.

We stayed on a Sunday night in June. The room was a double queen with a sea view. It was clean but too warm — there was a heater that didn't seem to be connected to the thermostat so we had the windows open and fan on all the time. Some previously noisy guests calmed down quickly at night, so we got a good night's sleep. The staff were friendly and the breakfast simple but functional. Look out for the seagulls at breakfast! We tried to ask something about Point Lobos but got blank expressions and confusion.

All of the staff were kind and courteous. From the owner to the housekeepers. We got the romance package which was a dozen roses, champagne, and chocolate from the owners candy shop. Which was amazing. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom is a bit small, but I had no intention on spending my time there. The view from our room was incredible. There were plenty of places within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent price performance!

We came here for our honeymoon and are here again for our first anniversary. The staff are very accomodating, the rooms are well kept and the beach is right across the street. The higher the floor, the nicer the view.

Just minutes from Monterey and situated in a serene locale, this is an excellent option. To the south, the main strip of Pacific Grove is within walking distance. And, a few blocks north is the sea.

Worst experience ever, a disappointing Easter weekend. Shower doesn't work, tub drains very slow and the toilet was a disaster. First, it doesn't drain so I called the front desk at almost 11pm, and the response was, "we'll have somebody check it tomorrow". So my mom tried to flush it again and it overflowed on the bathroom floor. Judging by the response on my first call, I could not expect anything better. I called again and asked for a plunger. In short, I have to clean it myself. Our room is on the 2nd floor and was promised for an ocean view when I booked it. When we checked in, I inquired about the room but was told there was no view and that they have no control over it since it's computer generated so I ended up explaining myself how I booked it over the phone and was told this and that. There is a partial view of the ocean between the buildings across the street which is another motel. What really bothered me was the fact that on their website it was $309 for two nights but for my mistake I called instead and somehow got pushed into paying an extra $104 more. I asked why is it cheaper online? All she could say was, "I don't know but this is what appears in our end, if you don't get this now, somebody will coz this is the last room. " So don't make my mistake, go somewhere else.

Stayed for one night. To get a good view you need to be on the 3rd floor. The room is noce amd updated with a fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. The only down side was the bathroom was extremly small and way out of date. And the heater didnt work. Overall great experience no huge complaints. And its walking distance to the water!

I just expected a lot more from the pictures and it didn't look ANYTHING like what's posted. There's no ac. The beds are comfortable though.

There is hardly anything about the advertised pictures on their website that actually apply to this place. It is not oceanfront and only the best rooms on the east end have an "ocean view", probably their suites. The building is not located on the ocean front and there are actually buildings in front of them that block your view to the ocean. Parking is 2nd rate unless you happen to get there early enough to get one of the slots in front of the hotel. Outside of that, you have to park under the hotel. Even the breakfast is substandard for most continental breakfasts. For the price you have to pay, I expected a lot more.

Lover's point Inn is fairly well located. 3 blocks to the main street of Pacific Grove, which is a really cute area of Monterey Bay. It's also really near to the start of the 17 mile scenic drive. Not t mention it's near the beach which is always a plus. The room is decent. Slightly larger than a regular motel. The bed is a little springy and soft so if you prefer firmer beds that provide more support, this might not give you a good night's sleep. The walls are also paper thin, you can hear everything that people are saying in other rooms as well as when they they are loading up and starting their cars right outside your door. If you don't mind these quirks about the place, this is actually a pretty good value for money place to stay in for one or two nights, but not for longer.

We had an "ocean view" room. It was on the second floor and we had no view of the ocean. The hotel in front of us was blocking all the view. When we got moved to the third floor it was still not a good view.

Location was great — across the street from the ocean and walking trail. Easy walk down the trail to the aquarium and shopping (15 minute walk). Room was small and very basic. TV did not work. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast. Clean but "aged" or worn and dated.

Great friendly service. Rooms are showing their age a bit, but the price makes up for it.
