Great place to stay, friendly staff and super location for Canary Row. Will definitely stay here again.

I had a great experience and highly recommend staying here. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and quiet. I loved the fireplace and beautiful shower. The bed is very comfortable and enjoyed having a patio outside. The breakfast is delicious and has good variety, and the wine and cheese in the afternoon is an added bonus. I will be coming back here next time! It is also very close to the Aquarium and Cannery Row.

My room was upgraded to a ocean facing room with fireplace and high ceilings. The breakfast was basic but delicious and the staff was extremely helpful! I would definitely stay here again!

We come here every year and love everything about it. From the check-in, to the afternoon cheese and wine to breakfast. It’s just and excellent run place with a very friendly staff! As for the rooms, they are excellent and superior to your typical hotel. The amenities and the welcoming is just fabulous!

Great location, love the hotel room but probably the worst breakfast I've had. Eggs are dry. Something that needs to be improved.

A great bottle of wine, two glasses, chocolates, and a dog dish filled with dry dog food (we have a dog) was delivered to our door shortly after checking in. A lovely thank you card was included from the hotel. Very nice thing to do and totally unexpected. Thank you, Best Western!

Cute boutique Best Western, we stayed for one night with our family. The Aquarium and a ton of shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was decent with waffles, eggs, sausages, toast, oatmeal, cereal, juices, etc. The only thing we didn’t like is they have no AC. Not typically a big deal, except we visited when it was unusually warm. Nevertheless we would stay here again!

Love this place. Its walking distance form cannery row. They have a delicious breakfast and wine and cheese hour in the evening. And if you are a return costumer you will get a bottle of wine and chocolates from them welcoming you back. Thank you Kayla for helping us get the best rate, we will be back.

Stylishly furnished, spacious and clean rooms. Welcome or booking was cold and one had the impression that one was disturbed, which was again shown the following day by the further staff, which indicates the working climate. Breakfast is ok, the location good, but does not really justify the price.

This hotel is perfectly comfortable and walkable to Cannery Row shops and restaurants. While it is not the newest hotel in the area, it has been well maintained. Rooms are large and well-furnished, with balconies and fireplaces. Plus, the hotel is dog friendly!

The rooms are surprisingly big with some classic decor. The grounds are a small maze unto themselves with plenty of space for groups to meet or spots to go read a book if you want to enjoy the weather. Easy access to Cannery Row and the adjacent restaurants.

Clean, comfortable and close to some of the better low-key, good value places to eat. 10 minute walk to the aquarium and seaside. Not a bad breakfast for a Best Western (fruit, oatmeal, DIY waffles and freshly brewed coffee on offer). Parking costs extra. The added value comes from it not having been updated in a good while.

Stayed here for the first time celebrating my birthday last month and had the best time! This is one of those hotels that not only lives up to its website description but exceeds expectations. Walking distance from everything and more you want to experience in Monterey. My husband and I got to the hotel way before check in time and had planned on leaving the car there to visit the aquarium in the meantime. They happened to have a room ready right above their check in station and it had the best view of the ocean! It had TWO fire places and the most gorgeous decor. Very friendly service by the way, easy to check in/out. Great breakfast, absolutely loved the make-your-own waffle station and the yummy fruit selection! This hotel made my birthday an even better experience than I hoped for!

Excellent location, easy walk to lighthouse road and cannery row and the aquarium. My 4 year old walked everywhere no problem! Great price, oh and let’s not forget the wine and cheese in the afternoon and the continental breakfast that has a couple hot items too! 2nd time staying here, we will be back. Price is good, rooms are nice too!

We came to visit my son in Monterey and found this hotel based on reviews. I'm so glad I did my homework because this place was awesome! Our room had a fireplace which we loved because we're from Arizona and never get to use a fireplace. This hotel is close to everything! You can walk wherever you want. The staff was extra friendly too! We especially loved meeting Victor. He went way beyond what we could ever expect from a hotel staff member. Not to mention, they were offering Free Wine & Cheese for the hotel guests from 4:30p-5:30p. I mean, did someone say "free wine"? From beginning to end, we enjoyed everything about this hotel. We highly recommend staying here and if you get the pleasure of meeting Victor, tell him Dave & Leslie say Hi!

Excellent time. This is the second time and we brought friends who also enjoyed their stay. They are very helpful, courteous and professional. The wine hour at 4:30 is nice. The breakfast is hot and lots of variety. The staff is very helpful and quick to respond to any inquiry. We came back to celebrate an anniversary with another couple, and there were treats in the room like wine, cheese and chocolate for us. What a nice surprise!

I’ll have to advise not paying way in advance We booked our room a couple months ago and when our Marine at Camp Pendleton needed us we called over a week in advance to change and were told no refund would be given on the one night. Pretty crummy Stayed two night… paid for three and we came from another Best Western Plus where the staff was very friendly. Here I couldn’t say that. From breakfast to the front desk no one was what I’d describe as hospitable. Next time we will make different arrangements. I’d say paying for something we didn’t utilize is rather bad business.

Great hotel. Welcome to the top. Warm, but discreet. Luggage taken to the room as used once. Historical structure of very elegant small wooden buildings, a few steps from Cannery Road and 15 minutes from fisherman Warf. Spacious rooms decorated in style and tastefully furnished with a scenic gas fireplace. Very comfortable King size bed. Not to mention the bottle of red wine and the chocolates offered by the management found in the room. What about the style, service and care that every hotel should offer. Very good congratulations!

I am Mrs. John McDowell. We absolutely loved your hotel. We felt it was more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel. The rooms were lovely, clean and well furnished. The breakfasts were very good and the dining room and breakfast equipment were very clean and pleasant. The wine and cheese was an added surprise that we enjoyed very much. The grounds of the hotel were lovely and well kept. The flowers and bushes were beautiful. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We definitely recommend a stay at this lovely Victorian inn. We will return.

I liked it, neat, and the full breakfast.

Very clean. Never seen a hotel or resort anywhere where a person is actually cleaning the outside railing. With this attention to detail you can be assured the rooms are clean. Views are limited but the balconies are quiet and a great place to relax outside while still in the comfort of your room. The afternoon wine are cheese is nice. Cheese selection not great. Wine decent. The breakfast has much more variety. Located close to most points if interest in Monterey. Private parking garage. Will be back.

Really nice place. You can walk to Cannery Row, Fishermans Wharf, & beaches. Breakfast is pretty good with eggs & sausage. Rooms are clean! Service is very good! We will come back here again!

We’re happy with the whole experience. Our stay was great! Didn’t expect the free bottle of wine and chocolates for my bday & free kibbles for our pooch. Love the soft comfy bed, hardwood floors and fireplace. We will definitely be back again. So far the Best Pet-Friendly Hotel! Walking distance to Cannery row!

Cute and quaint hotel. Really liked our room. Loved the fireplace feature and we were sure to use it. Liked the fact that we were able to purchase Monterey Bay Aquarium tickets from the hotel so we didn't have to stand in the long lines to purchase tickets at the aquarium. Centrally located near lots of restaurants was a plus. All in all we were very happy with our choice in using the Victoria Inn.

Located in a very cute town near Carmel and also San Francisco. Very warm and cosy room!

Great hotel and friendly staff. Location is great and walking distance to shops and restaurants by the Monterrey Aquarium. Pet friendly but no designated area for walking your pet. You have to walk your pet down the street. Parking is in an underground parking garage, so if you drive a taller van, there is absolutely no available parking at the hotel.

Perfect location, nice large rooms, fireplace is a great touch, Keurig coffee machines, and amazing wine reception. I was particularly surprised they offered Estancia. Highly recommend!

My family and I loved this Hotel. It was a super cute room. We turned on the fireplace as soon as we got in there. The restroom was really spacious and perfect for my family of 3. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly delicious. We will be staying here again.

Good: great location. Walking distance to the aquarium and Cannery Row. Comfy bed. Double showerheads, though one was a bit wonky. Nice fireplace and balcony though we didn't use them. We had a view of the bay. Bad: Seemed loud, noisy other guests. Breakfast was substandard. Parking was $15 and we scrapped our undercarriage getting out on the ramp.

Good location to walk to Cannery Row. Older and slightly smokey smell. They upgraded us and we have a nice room with high ceilings. Good continental breakfast with eggs and sausage. Cheese, crackers and wine offered in the afternoon. Good price point. Would definitely stay again.

Great staff! Great afternoon treat at the hotel from 4:30-5:30! Wonderful location, close to everything! Within walking distance of the bay, the aquarium and Cannery Row. Not a party hotel. A good comfortable relaxing hotel. Quiet. Clean. Outside patio area is really nice. We'll be sure to stay again when in Monterey!

Very nice hotel. We have been coming here for our anniversary for about 5 years. Love the area and restaurants. The room is very nice and we especially like the fireplace. Very cozy. The breakfast is good and we enjoy the afternoon wine and cheese etc. I highly recommend the Victorian Inn.

This solid three star hotel gave me a well appointed, large room with a king bed. An older hotel, but well-maintained. My room was off the courtyard and very quiet. Only a couple of blocks from cannery row. Very good underground parking for $15. Very friendly front desk, wine and cheese later in the afternoon, and a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates in my room. I’m not sure, but the bottle of wine might have related to me being a gold rewards member. The free breakfast was better than average in terms of free breakfasts. And thank you for being a dog friendly hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a great hotel. The rooms are really comfortable and clean. The location is great, as it is walking distance to everything. If I had to think of a negative, it would be the breakfast. It is pretty basic, and both mornings they had plain egg omelets. All in all, it's a great hotel, and I will be staying here again when in the area.

Great Inn. Good location. Quiet and beautiful area. Nice reception. Breakfast was nice although I've had more of a selection at other BW hotels. Overall a great place to stay I will be back. 4 stars due to $15 parking charge.

We stayed at the Victorian Inn overnight for a wedding in town. The hotel was gracious enough to allow an early check-in so that we could get changed in time to make the wedding. The room was very nice and had an ocean view. It would have been nice to extend our stay and enjoy the accommodations, but we had to get back home.

Love the stay. It was close to everything and clean, neat and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful. The fact that they accommodate pets is a real plus! It was really nice seeing all the cute, furry friends there. The food was nice at breakfast and the wine & cheese at night was a real treat. All in all, I will stay here next time I come and tell everyone I know about it.

A lovely hotel in by the heart of Monterey. We experienced the ambiance of history and the people were oh so friendly. We visited the information of Commerce and the associate was very helpful. We loved the walk ways and the ocean side. Was a lovely experience and was interesting to learn about Cannery Row.

Nice hotel and only a short drive from Carmel. It was clean and well kept with a pretty decent complimentary breakfast. What makes it 5 stars for me is that I encountered a problem where I was charged twice. Hotel staff went above and beyond to rectify and offered compensation without me ever having to suggest it!

The room was cozy and clean. Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf were within walking distance. Felt safe and comfortable walking in the area at night. Would definitely stay here again or recommend to someone.

Lovely little place with high ceilings and a fire place. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Included breakfast is a plus. I would recommend asking for a tray and taking it back to your room for a more intimate setting as the dining area can get quite crowded with limited seating.

I definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay again! Customer service here is superb! Loved the wine and cheese reception, and breakfast held us over until lunch time. My husband was a little warm in the room due to not having a/c and we are just used to sleeping with the a/c on. I also wish there was a pool or hot tub but other than that this place is great and in a great location.

Was overall ok experience, but staff would not fix our bathroom door which would not close which we told them when we found out, which was the first day of our three day trip. We also probably had the worst location for our room which was right next to the elevator which would ding throughout the night and we would hear the people coming in and out of the elevator. The breakfast was good as well as the wine and cheese. The front desk staff did not provide our complimentary wine and chocolates which they would provide for us for our anniversary. The housekeeping and kitchen staff were extremely nice and helpful to us.

Me and my girlfriend and our two kids crashed in late a Suterday evening and got the last double room. Before seeing the room we thought it was a little moore then we wanted to pay. After seeing the room with a view of the ocean, fire place, nice TV, coffee, and fridge, nice bathroom and shower, been helped by the supernice staff and enjoyed a breakfast that held the highest standard we think we made a bargain. This hotel is a something else in the most positive way. A must if you ever want to pass some time in Monteray. 5 stars from us all four :)

Walkable distance to everything. We got a room with a vaulted ceiling and a gas fireplace. The room did not have air conditioning, but we just left the balcony door open at night. The wine reception was nice and the breakfast was better. Our biggest complaint was the $15 or night parking fee that should be complementary since the parking is under the hotel. Would probably stay there again.

I happened to stay here in March (the rates were good, and they are walking distance to the aquarium), and I was pleased with the experience. When I planned a trip for June, I knew I wanted to stay there again, but I didn't know how glad I would be to return. A bottle of wine was waiting in our room with a handwritten note thanking me for being a repeat customer. This, plus the value of the breakfast, plus the staff, ensure that this will be my go-to lodging for Monterey for the future.

Comfortable and welcoming.

This has been such a wonderful experience. Alyssa at the front desk was beyond fantastic. She was helpful beyond belief. Such a surprise to have a welcome card in the room, along with fresh water and a bowl ful of food for Bailey, our dog. Everyone was super friendly when we asked them for questions. The breakfast was delicious, just needs more available seating in the lounge area. It was a bit loud with road traffic and younger kids running during quiet time. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Monterey.

Room was clean and quiet. Gas fire place was a nice addition. TV was mostly unwatchable. Breakfast was standard. Eggs and sausage were hot as were the french toast and muffins. Would stay again. Staff were very nice and friendly.

Very cute Inn for a night in Monteray. They had a wine and cheese happy hour when we arrived and the continental breakfast was good with a lot of options. Our room was charming with lofted ceilings and a private balcony. It was also very clean and crisp. Within walking distance to Cannery Row (the historic downtown with little shops and the Monterey Bay Aquarium).

Great rooms, service and location. Close to the aquarium 7 min walk. Only thing is that walls and floors are too thin. You can hear people walk upstairs and people next door. Very clean.

We Stayed in a Beautiful room w fireplace. Hotel was in Walking distance to Cannery Row and the aquarium. Breakfast included eggs, sausage, French toast. Afternoons, they starved wine n cheese. It was very good and our stay was one if the best.

We wanted to thank Rufus for helping us out last week when we arrived without a reservation. He was kind enough to call another Best Western for us. Kindness goes a long way.

The location was very convenient. It was within walking distance to Cannery Row. Fisherman's Wharf is just a short drive away. Our pet friendly room was very clean and spacious. You could tell the room is a bit outdated, but by no means close to unacceptable. The only limit gripe was that the shower head was really low, but really that's just knit-picking. Pro tips: Call ahead to make sure a pet friendly room is available. Rates differ from the normal rooms. There is a $30 fee per night for your pet. Parking at the hotel is $15 nightly, but street parking is $1.50/hr and enforced 9am-8pm on Foam street. 90min free parking on Lighthouse and side streets and enforced from 9-6pm.

Perfect hotel in the right spot. Breakfast, Wifi and parking included. We took the bigger room with fireplace. Super comfy.

Close to Cannery row for a good price. Decor was a little forced for the Victorian feel and the bathroom is a little outdated but it was very quite and comfortable. Will probably stay here next visit to Monterey.

Great location with friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised with a chilled bottle of wine when I arrived. The only thing missing was a gym but it's minutes away from a beautiful jogging path.

Very quait little Inn perfectly located just a few streets from Cannery Road allowing you to walk to the aquarium, a huge selection of shops and boutiques, as well as easy walking access to the beach! Just a few hundred feet away are a plethora of restaurants including the wonderful Crystal Fish sushi location. Best Western also hosts a wine tasting in the early evening just before dinner and provides a complimentary breakfast in the morning. The rooms are very comfortable and on the second story the balcony has a wonderful view of the complex. We stayed here a year ago and having returned both myself and my significant other both agree that we would happily return any time we stay in Monterey!

Very nice. It was our first anniversary and they gave us a room with an bay view and had a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us. Complimentary breakfast and wine hour were very nice conveniences. Walking distance to Cannery Row, our free shuttle around the corner. Very nice staff. One star removed for traffic and other odd noises and no secure gate on one end.

Wanted to give my wife a nice birthday get away. Did my reservations through 'Booking dot". Er well you know. Sent many messages between myself and the hotel letting them know it was a birthday gift and I would like a room with a view. They sent back saying they would try depending on arrival time to accommodate. We arrived and checked in at around 2, did not expect to register just wanted permission to park there so we could walk around. To my pleasant surprise the room was ready and they let us check in. We grabbed our bags and went to the room. When we opened the door my wife looked at me and said "oh my god, you had them put wine and chocolates? er. Yea? Well to say the least, nice touch guys!. The stay was over all nice. The only reason I don't rant and rave about this place is because both nights I was kept up by little children running across my ceiling. I feel its not great Policy to place small children on upper floors. Especially in an older wooden structure hotel. Other than the lack of sleep due to excessive noise the place was great. The breakfast was sufficient and the wine and cheese get together was a nice touch.

Great location near Cannery Row and all the attractions, but what made it special was the staff. They were very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the full breakfast and the afternoon wine and cheese.

We've come back to the Victorian Inn because it's walking distance to most places we like to go during our Monterey visit. We like the staff, clean rooms, breakfast, balconies, and the reception in the afternoon with wine, fruit, crackers, cheese, lemonade, and ice tea.

2nd time staying here and still a great experience. Staff very friendly, checked in 4 hours early and the room was ready. Upgraded to a bigger room for free, balcony, fireplace, great location, clean and cozy.
