Reviews of Yosemite View Lodge 2*
It is nice to stay in at yosemite lodge coz of the view behind the mountain/romantic atmosphere nice looking and quite condusive to relaxing and feeling comfortable in a sense 😍
Very nice hotel very close to Yosemite park.
However just check they don’t give you a room with a mountain view but also facing the main road. As well as having to carry your suitcases up several flights of stairs — not really what we expected for our last night stapler before we head back to UK.
My family and I stayed last August 2021, nice clean room, pool was clean and nice.
Bloody pillow in room and dirty patio. Hotel did not refund room charge.
This is a great place to stay if your visiting Yosemite. Great rooms, great location with an easy drive into the park.
Pet friendly, thank you that I could bring Mr Darcy! The staff were nice and helpful l!
I loved it! Very quiet and great place to have a small family get-Away.
Nice place …. River View…Room Elec. Fireplace 2 queens beds
wet bar. 2 burners, microwave,
Frig, toaster, Plates, bowls etc….
Large patio. Great for families with small kids or Dogs :) Fully enclosed metal bars! Ground level.
No Wi-Fi 10 daily 2 devices!
Lobby has groceries……
Nice gifts
Pizza place was good.
Restaurant also….
Pools
Parking outside your door.
Very close to Yosemite Entrance booth!
My room is large, with a great view. There was a travel mug with coffee still in it left in my room, so it makes me question how well the rooms are cleaned.
There seems to be ample parking. There are two restaurants on site and the store is like any gas station and well stocked.
HOWEVER, there is no cell service here and you have to pay $10 a day for Wi-Fi.
If you're an off the grid kind of person that's great. But if you need to keep in contact with people… not so much.
Great location, nice view to the river and great restaurant👌👌👌
We loved our spacious room, kitchenette with nice kitchen supplies, little fireplace, a huge jet bath tub, big balcony & of course the amazing view of the Merced River. Bed needs better blankets, the blanket is very thin same as a sheet, so bring your own blanket or comforter. The two restaurants at the hotel property both have good food & a cocktail bar. The little store near the lobby has souvenirs & limited groceries. I bought some eggs to make our daily breakfast which was nice. Being a few minutes away from the parks main entrance was a plus. We stayed on the first floor since we have two active sons, and the balcony is way bigger. Definitely was worth it. BTW, be prepared to pay $30 for internet service (slow).
Best location ever! love everything about it.
Nice place to stay as a starting point for visiting Yosemite. Comfortable and quiet. The balcony overlooking the Merced was a bonus too.
Loved the location just outside the main entrance to Yosemite. Our room view was the Merced River. It was relaxing to hear it flow.
Loved it as soon as we arrived! The people at the front desk were SUPER friendly! I will definitely come again!
The views of the river are beautiful, the food on site is great. And the pools are nice. Those are the good things! The bad is you pay 300 a night for a room straight out of 1970, and on top of it you have to pay $10 a night for Wi-Fi… there is no data so no cell service or texts then they charge you. 70 a minute to use the phone. Staff that we dealt with was basically like oh well. I know the prices are inflated due to being right outside the park but, definitely will not be staying here again!
The staff is friendly and helpful. The views are amazing. More than worth it. Highly recommend.
Great location. Large, modern and quiet rooms. Excellent service.
We had to cancel our trip to the US due to COVID-19, cancelled our free cancellation stay at Yosemite View Lodge via booking. Com, but haven't received our money yet. They do not respond to email or messages on Facebook. Very unprofessional!
Rooms are great, gift shop is nice and has groceries as well, only con is paying 10 bucks for Wi-Fi per night for just two devices!
This place is awesome great view big bathroom. Gift shop has coolest stuff I’ve ever seen. Definitely a must stop.
No internet to speak of or you can but it @ 10. A day. Very poor TV selections,
but it’s very neat and clean.
I love this place. I got a good deal on Groupon for a two night stay. The river view room is spacious with an awesome spa tub! The fireplace worked perfectly and heated the room very well. The view from our balcony was beautiful. I loved that they have two out door spas by the pool as well as an indoor pool and spa. The pizza restaurant was really good! We didn’t eat at the Resturant though because it’s pretty expensive. We brought a lot of food and prepared it in our room. It was definitely nice having the little kitchen with a stovetop, microwave, and mini fridge. It also has come pans, dishes, cups and silverware.
Great location … Really close to the Park …
Nice location friendly staff. Rooms are pricey.
Excellent location. Very close to Yosemite. Rooms were clean and spacious. The restaurant on the property was very good.
Everything was great — room was clean & comfy, meals were perfect but the laundry was a disappointment 5 washers 5 dryers BUT only 2 washers were working, for a place this size it could have been double the size.
Offer free wiki, $9.99 per 24 hours is a rip off. No other hotel on our trip has charged.
Many of their rooms are right next to the Merced River. It has spectacular views and is just a couple miles from entrance to Yosemite Park.
The sister hotel, the Cedar Lodge, promised me a ground floor room for my handicapped mother, but then gave it away (there are no elevators). She was a trooper but could have been injured… she’s blind and struggles to walk. It was too late for us to find another hotel. heartless basta*ds. Then, they wouldn’t even give us a discount on the room. This company sucks so hard. Stay here at your own risk.
Beautiful place! Peaceful and gorgeous! Great rooms! Amazing bathrooms! Little kitchens in the rooms!
Best stuff first, our view from the patio was a lovely rocky creek. Delightful. No screen on the door so we couldn't leave door open to hear the water. Birds and squirrels nearby so a barrier is important. Location near Yosemite is great. We booked a great tour in the lobby. Nice gift shop. Rooms are in desperate need of updating. Giant pink tub and tile. Pricey!
Basic but comfortable. A good sized room with a small but nice balcony. A good position if travelling from Yosemite to San Francisco. Outside the park. Little option on food with just the pizza place and the restaurant. Good options for good and drink in the shop but shelves were rather sparse.
Dog friendly hotel just outside of Yosemite National Park. Accommodations were fine, a little expensive but that's what you get in rural tourist areas. The restaurant was good too. They were accommodating to me being gluten free. I had the steak and it was about the same as the hotel, pretty good and a little expensive.
The lodge is clean, rooms are big and spacious. I liked the balcony and in room jacuzzy a lot. Pool jacuzzi didn't work. I think it's outrageous that the hotel doesn't provide information about trips and hikes. At the reception they don't give info, they just search online and give you phone numbers. How hard can it be to print a piece of paper regarding a few popular hikes and rafting? I expect that hotel located in a national park would provide info about hikes.
This was a beautiful place just outside the south side of Yosemite. Nice, clean rooms with a nice kitchenette. They provided dishes, toaster, etc. There's a restaurant, pool and a great gift shop! They even have all kinds of groceries for you to fix in your room or take on your hike! Very friendly and helpful people there.
Clean and spacious rooms. Indoor, outdoor pools with Jacuzzi offer relaxation. Creek view is lovely. Overall I would be happy to come back since we took a suite with kitchen and over looking the creek. We loved our stay. Grocery store 1 mile down offers more variety of products.
The location was great and close to Yosemite. We had a room with two queen beds and a sofa bed. The room was fairly large with a very small kitchenette. The bathtub was huge and there were two shower heads in it, but the towels were tiny and thin. The bedroom also had a weird smell that we did eventually got used to. The parking was limited and you had to pay extra for Wi-Fi.
By far the best location. Mins from El Portal entrance, and the Merced River roaring behind the property. Other pluses; patio dining at the restaurant for dinner, patio rooms available & worth it, rooms with kitchens save you money on breakfast — plan ahead.
Negatives; rooms need updating, still using bedspreads yuk. Some mold issues in bathrooms, oversized jacuzzi tubs are awkward to get in/out of for showers. Bedding is poor quality, not even a mattress pad protector on my… bed. Towels were nice tho.
The property is mostly well maintained outside, quiet at night. With an open window you will hear the river.
My tip: only breakfast option is very expensive breakfast buffet @ $17 each. Not worth it. You can purchase items to prepare in your room if you have a kitchen (fully stocked with cookware etc). Next time I will bring cereal, yogurt & fruit with me for the morning.
Fantastic view from the river. It has a balcony where you can sit to have your breakfast and watch the river in the sun. At night you can have a dinner with a good wine watching the stars, really fantastic experience. It is a complete room with the perfect size and a comfortable bed. It is clean, new, has a furnace with pans, plates and all the equipment. It has also a microwave, coffee machine, toaster, refrigerator, all you need. The bath is big, clean, with good amenities and has a jacuzzi with two showers. The location is excellent too, very close to the park entrance. It has numerous pools also that I didn't try. You can save time on the local restaurants that are good, and It has a local shopping that has products for the breakfast, dinner or just for shopping for shirts, etc. One bad thing was about the paid Wi-Fi. I didn't try to see if it is at least good, but it was their solution to avoid overuse. The breakfast is also not included in the price.
Excellent. Most of the rooms overlooks the river that comes from Yosemite Park.
The reception is not very warm it feels like arriving in a holiday colony. The room is spacious, the bathroom just as large on the other hand very dated and the blinds were broken, impossible to close them. Located not far from the entrance to the Park, it is quite convenient but just for one night. The restaurants, rather average, are closed at 9pm.
Beautiful hotel only a few minutes down the road from the entrance to Yosemite National Park. Check-in and out was easy. Room was clean and very nice. Wi-Fi is only available for an extra fee through a third party, and there's close to no cellphone service, so be prepared to pay (or just disconnect from the outside world and enjoy the beauty around you).
Excellent location to Yosemite. Just a couple minutes to the gate. We lucked out and had the third floor and an awesome view of the river. For the most part very clean. Beds are decent. Not much to choose for food. The one sit down restaurant was just ok. Nice to have a microwave refrigerator and stove in the room. Just very very expensive for an outdated room. I guess you are paying for the location.
Loved our stay at Yosemite View Lodge! We got a room facing the Merced River, with our balcony directly overlooking it, and it was gorgeous. Their lobby/store was super convenient, and the two restaurants offered a variety of food to keep us fed during the week. I loved that the room had a gas fireplace we could turn on in a pinch when we were chilly. It was a pretty simple 30 minutes into Yosemite Valley, so if you can’t stay in the valley, this is an awesome alternative.
Wow! Truly magical accommodation! A few minutes from Yosemite and a small village. Has its own mini-market and some swimming pools (1 indoor and 4 outdoor but quite small). Very friendly staff. Very clean and well equipped rooms. Kitchenette. Large bathroom and living room. Balcony on the nature (you can see the squirrels). Really a great Motel I have nothing to complain about if this is the price of the breakfast we have so taken in our room. The best hotel I've had!
Excellent place to rest and take energy for a day in the park. Recommended for two nights.
Excellent location, lovely river view balcony, kids loved the super warm pool & in room jacuzzi tub, dual shower tub with good water pressure & no drain issues. I made good use of kitchenette adequately stocked with toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, scrubber, dish soap & serving items. Electric fireplace and room heater worked fine and TV had a lot of cable channels. The on-site store was convenient but a little pricey. Pizza & restaurant on site. The hotel has a nice jacuzzi in pool area too. Overall a great place and we’d happily stay again. There are newer thicker bath towels & thinner bath towels & it is random which you get. There are laundry facilities, ice, elevator. Downside: no free Wi-Fi but $10/24hrs is not bad either. Our room was very clean and comfortable and well appointed and upgraded. No complaints.
I liked it very much, it was very close to the park and between the river. Was nice.
We stayed on the farther east side of the lodge. Our balcony view was amazing! We faced the river which was quite calming as the water splashed against the rocks. This spot was a great place for an over night visit to yosemite. It was only a 4 Mile drive to get to the park entrance. The room was a little outdated and had an odd smell. But we aired out the room a bit by opening the balcony window. There's a kitchenette, toaster, microwave, some pots and pans and a few glasses and plates. I only used the toaster. The bathtub spa thing was alright… Very old, so quick showers! It was good for the price since we spent most of our time at the park. I think the view was my favorite part of the room so get a room facing the river if you're into that kind of stuff.
Very nice place to stay! Your Latino employees are very friendly!
Nice, big room with a great view. The bed and jacuzzi tub were huge. Shower had two shower heads with plenty of room. Staff was very nice and friendly. By far the best part about this hotel is the location and the view. Only a few minutes away from the Yosemite main gate. The view and the river outside our room were breathtaking. Everything was clean and well maintained.
Large bathroom with whirlpool and chemine a huge bed. In the restaurant there were delicious pizzas to combine. Ok. It has come a bit in the years and it is somewhat schmudelig and not top cleaned but otherwise everything was Bico bello. We liked it.
Right outside of the park limit, take a very short walk and take your picture at the Yosemite Park entrance sign. Lodge is along a beautiful river, lots of things to watch. We had a balcony overlooking the river, beautiful and loved listening to the water. Room was beautiful, huge walk-in shower, gas fireplace, jacuzzi two person tub. Property was very well kept, beautiful pools and hot tubs throughout the property. Would love to visit again!
Very nice place, nice people and good food.
Loved thus resort. It has so much to offer. Just having a running river outside of our patio door made it do relaxing. The weather was so nice that we slept with our patio door cracked open to hear the soothing sound of the river flowing downstream over the rocks. Loved the hot tub in our room. Has two restaurants on s I tell with delicious offerings. A setting for romance and a family adventure!
Nice hotel. Rooms have a kitchenette with everything you need to cook and eat. Bathroom has been remodeled, which is nice. Heater would need to be changed. Noisy, and doesn't stop when temperature has been reached. Nice indoor pool. Convenient store and gift shop. Restaurant on site.
Animal encounter of the extraordinary kind in the room. Directly on the Roaring River.
Great hotel that I've stayed at twice. The second time was even more improved compared to the first. Rooms are comfortable and come with small kitchen with electric range, sink, and refrigerator as well as microwave and toaster. Restroom came with a double shower head and jacuzzi tub. Great river views in many rooms just outside with a balcony. Hotel had a convenient small food section next to the gift shop with reasonable prices. The hotel itself is about a 10 minute drive right outside of Yosemite (entrance). Will probably always stay here everytime I visit Yosemite.
I've stayed here 3 years in a row the week after Christmas. The rooms are clean and the rooms usually have 2 sources if heat. The little kitchenette has a stove, sink, coffee maker and sometimes a toaster. The bathroom showers have good pressure and plenty of hot water. Great view from the balcony. The hotel is pet friendly.
The location of the hotel is great. Unfortunately, the room was very old and not very welcoming. Nor was it clean. Wi-Fi has cost extra-and with these high room rates. After all, the food in the restaurant was delicious.
Before I comment on the hotel itself, I recommend to use the store in Yosemite village instead of the hotel's one. The rooms are clean, big and in a good shape. They contain a kitchenette and some equipment, more can be asked for at the reception. The restaurant, however, is awful… overcooked pasta and steak, amateur waiters. I recommend the pizza place or to cook in your room. For the location, prices and equipment this hotel is perfect. Only the food situation is bad… best recommendation: get food in the Yosemite village store.
A great place to take the kids. My kids had a blast. 3 swimming pools are great for the summer. There is one that is indoor which was great for our winter trip. It's really close to Yosemite so you could get your national park chair on as soon as you wake up. I think most of the rooms have a view of the river. When we went in the winter the river was beautiful.
Nice and clean hotel just before the entrance to Yosemites Park Relle surprise for its restaurant maybe a fare a little too high but when you think everything has to be brought there you can understand!
This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed in. And I travel a lot. You step in, take a deep breath and smell that mildew, dust and mold. You almost forget you're in one of the most beautiful places in the world. It feels like Camp, but don't stay at the Yosemite view lodge. Sleep in your car, but don't stay the Yosemite view lodge. I say this carefully — diving face first off half dome would be a better and more comfortable experience than staying at the Yosemite view lodge. Half of the wall plugs in the room didn't work, do I was charging everything in the bathroom. Next to the sink. Yes, a perfect place with plenty of water to have all your expensive electronic things like laptops, cell phones, cameras. I can go on for hours about how terrible this place is, but I won't. Just do yourself a favor and don't stay here. Especially if you have allergies.
Delicious food. We went for breakfast. The buffet is great and cost $25 per person but most drinks are included with purchase. You can also order individual dishes. The dining room is gorgeous. The wait staff is also super friendly. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
Nice suite and beautiful river view.
The room has a kitchenette with a fridge that is about mini size, but has a real freezer and different compartments. It is a descent hotel outside of Yosemite. Make sure you bring your own food and bring it from Mariposa. This is basic, but considering you are literally 2 miles outside of Yosemite, could be a lot worse. Would stay here again.
Rooms clean and tidy with fireplace and hot tub service staff washes off. I find class.
Great place to stay, just lovely. Definitely go for a room with a view over the river, it's stunning. Yes the rooms are a little dated but they are spacious, airy, clean and the comfiest beds ever, besides most of the time is in Yosemite anyway. Friendly helpful staff and a gas station just down the road as well as a supermarket. Good value for money, thoroughly recommend.
We had a room with a balcony from which you looked directly at a river. Very cool sight. That's true with cleanliness definitely needs to be improved. Otherwise very nice room.
Great location, however this hotel is dated and needs to be overhauled if they intend to charge $290/night. The linens were rough and towels abrasive. The bed was hard so if you have back problem, you might wish to request more pillows. The view of the Meced River is awesome and the location is great. I just feel that for the price, this hotel could use a bit of work. It doesn't even rate with a standard Motel 6 or Best Western while charging the price of a Marriott or Hilton. Just not worth it with upgrading the rooms and providing high quality linens and beds.
Good hotel. Closest to the park but outside the boundary therefore providing a cheaper price than staying in the park but keeping a good location. Laundry available for washing clothes. Good pizza place and restaurant.
Super convenient if your vacation revolves around Yosemite. Tons of neat amenities that you wouldn't normally expect from a motel like 3 pools, an arcade, a restaurant and a mini grocery store. The rooms were spacious and ours included a stove complete with pots and pans. Would stay there again.
I'm offering a 5-star to off-set the numbskulls who give this place a 2 star rating. Having been to Yosemite a number of times, this place is the best option in regards to location. We booked a room and needed a last-minute booking for a second night. Our room, initially, was sub-par. However, after a call-in to the front-desk, they upgraded us to a large suite with a spa tub (mom loved it) and a spectacular view of the roaring Merced River. Bring groceries (or purchase them in the Y. Valley) and cook for yourself with the in-room kitchenette. Is it a 5-star hotel? No. Is it perfect for staying at Yosemite. I'd say yes.
It was a surprising stay here at this motel. The prices are better than other accommodations inside or near the valley but our family room really needed a renovation. It had a disgusting smell. You can live with it because most of the time you out on a trip. Also the sleeper sofa and the carpet was really used and could be replaced. Besides that everything else was positive. The Wi-Fi worked well ($30 for 3 days), we had a small kitchen and the food at the local restaurant and also at the pizza place were also unexpectedly very good.
Great location on the hillside and River — a panorama to dream… Would there be not catastrophic rooms. Stinky carpet up to the kitchen, which is just opposite the beds (same room, 1, 5 m), dirty dishes, rude and overburdened staff, prices that it takes one faith and Wi-Fi for $ 10 per day. Well — who needs Wi-Fi now already big in the beautiful National Park… No matter: the total package is rip off there. Dear 1 mile continue and check in at the other lodge.
The food court had a good cheese burger. The fries were just okay. We stood in line for around 20 minutes because the grill was the only thing still cooking and it was July 4th weekend. On the other hand, the grill cook was doing everyone a favor by continuing to cook, as he kept making people food long after the usual 9 pm close time, which was appreciated. The staff for tours of the valley and Glacier Point were competent and were able to change my round trip reservation to a one way ticket and give me a refund. They also went to a lot of work to find the lost reservation of a man ahead of me. The bus tour guide to Glacier Point was great!
DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is not clean AT ALL. Maid service is a joke, they make your bed with the same sheets over and over and that's about it as far as "cleaning" they do. We even found used contact lenses in our bed sheets on two different occasions. My family does NOT wear contacts. We stayed here 4 nights. Front desk was RUDE and condescending. Worst of all during our stay I overheard the room next to us complaining they had gotten LICE from their stay there. Sure enough a few days after our stay there our daughter had gotten lice as well. The only good thing about this motel is the view! Nothing else. I don't know why or how it has a 4.5. It's a 1 Star motel.
Although, The Lodge is conveniently located near Yosemite, stay elsewhere, hell sleep in your car. *The room was not clean, it was dusty and the carpet was stained. Further, there was tagging etched into the ceiling fan. The condition is what you expect from an HOURLY not a 200 USD/night room. *The Fridge broke the first night leading to food spoilage. The fridge was replaced but the replacement wasn't properly cleaned, it cycled loudly throughout the light roughly every 45 minutes or so. * Management could have rectified the situation but gave me a canned response. *I prepaid the first night as I was part of a wedding party. Yosemite View Lodge proceeded to pre-bill my the second night before I authorized and overcharged me, when I booked the room I was told I would be billed at checkout for the second night. The amount they charged was higher then the invoice/receipt they handed me. Management ultimately "gave" me a 25% discount that would be refunded to me later since they already billed me for the 2nd night preemptively. In addition, the few times I went into the Lobby there were a few disgruntled guests. One guest at the desk commented to me "They do everything here the reverse of what other hotels do. " On that point, I requested a bottle opener the first night, and they refused. By far, the worst and least professional establishment I have every stayed at.
Very mediocre. Rooms are super shabby and unattended. Located about 10 minute drive from the park entrance and 25 min from the valley. Don't confuse with as another hotel with a similar name located in the park. Very low value for the price paid.
This hotel was in the most beautiful setting. The double room was huge & very clean. Unfortunately the air con in the room was really noisy but it was too hot & stuffy not to have it on. There's a pool & spa area but not many chairs available. The on site shop offers excellent value for money. However, the restaurant was a huge let down & expensive for what it offered.
Great experience. The room I got was pretty clean for a 3 star hotel. The room had some pots and pans and an electric stove. The hotel is a 20-25 minute drive to Yosemite Valley. I would fill up in mariposa before reaching the hotel because the drive back and forth will add up. This place has some nice swimming pools. The breakfast is not free. They have a small convenience store inside the lobby, but almost everything is really expensive. I would give it 5 stars but the price is way too high for a night.
Comfortable room on top floor of a building situated immediately next to the Merced River (which had lots of rushing water in mid-Feb). Kitchenette was wholly sufficient for preparing simple meals. Cups, plates bowls, silverware, various cooking tools. Sink. Microwave. Mini-fridge. Coffee maker. Bathroom was nicely updated. Felt open, relatively spacious, and very clean. Walk-in shower easily big enough for two. And, of course, right in the room, was the oversized jacuzzi bathtub. It was very pleasant. Took a little while to fill, as is the nature of bathtubs, but there was lots of water pressure and never any shortage of piping hot water. We used it every night we were there. It was absolutely worth the extra money to get the room with the jacuzzi tub. In terms of noise, the only thing you could hear was the soothing rush of the river. Granted, it was February, and we were on the top floor at the end of the row, but it wasn't until our last night there that I *think* I heard someone in the room next door. In other words, you're unlikely to be bothered by your neighbors, and you can feel comfortable knowing that they're probably not going to hear you, even if you're making those funny, grunting noises that grownups sometimes like to make when the kids aren't around. ;-)
Location is great, just 15 min from the valley. Facilities is great too, very large, two restaurants, a large well-provisioned shop open until 11pm makes it feel like a small village. We had problems with the fireplace and phone, but they were fixed quickly. We could also have used more than one pack of coffee in the room. We stayed in the riverfront room, which has a wonderfully close view of the rushing Merced River, and a partial view of a valley small valley.
This was the most awesome place to stay. My room was on the river, and Man! What a view. I paid more for crap motels than this cost. Was VERY pleased. Thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated that they were also, pet friendly. The room also had ALL the amenities! Love, love loved it :)
This lodge is the closest accommodation you can get outside Yosemite. You're surrounded by the nature and have lovely views of the area. Downside is that there is little to no reception and Wi-Fi isn't free. The rooms have kitchenettes and there are also swimming pools. The doors are heavy so that you won't hear the river running at night. Rooms are also clean.
We like staying here, but don't love it. Here's the + and — of it all: Pros: (1) As close as you can get to Yosemite Valley without actually staying in the valley. As the valley is often booked a year in advance and is pretty pricey for not-so-hot quality, that is important! (2) Clean! (3) The VIEW, if you get river-view. This is definitely worth the extra… the sound of the Merced and the stars at night are wonderful. I've never spent as much time in a hotel's back patio! I started and ended every day there! (4) Nice kitchen: had fridge, microwave and more! (5) Spa hot-tubs in deluxe rooms. (6) Decent store and restaurant on site and laundry facilities. (7) Indoor pool that's heated and actually warm enough for me, and I'm a wimp about pools being cold so you'll probably think it's too hot. Cons: (1) The linens: they are what I imagine jail-house towels are like… threadbare and sandpaper-ish. They also did not provide an extra one for the bathroom floor or even a full set for our family (probably over site, as they readily sent extras when I notified the desk). (2) NO FREE Wi-Fi… the "amenities" listed on the Google site of the hotel are wrong. They do provide VERY EXPENSIVE Wi-Fi… $10/day or so, and there was a warning that the service was not particularly fast (I did not try it, but used the free Wi-Fi in the Ahwanee one day to catch up). (3) No free breakfast (another error on the Google listings) (4) Extremely slow water.
Hot tub in room and a balcony facing right onto a roaring river make this place great. For the location the price is fair, and the room comes with a legit kitchenette (ants are a thing if you leave food out though).
Location is great and the in-room kitchette is handy. However, the front desk staff is unenthusiastic and the hotel itself needs a makeover badly. Linens are worn, towels are barely serviceable, and the heater in our particular room did not function (in middle of winter, no less). Barring other alternatives, skip this property.
It was overall a fine experience. The service was really slow and the hot tub didn't work. Aside from that no complains and I would visit again.
The rooms are a bit old but I have been going there since the 70s. Easy access to Yosemite park. Kitchen in room.
Can't beat the location, it is *rightnext* to the Hwy 140 Yosemite park entrance. We stayed for 4 nights in the Redbird bldg, 1st floor. Pro tip: the 1st floor rooms has a larger deck than the 2nd/3rd floor balconies, and the some of the 3rd floor rooms are *slightly* larger with vaulted ceilings. The dog-friendly environment, on-site restaurants, and the room's fireplace, kitchenette, and spa tub are great features! We used 'em & loved' em. Pro tip #2: If you're bringing your own food, READ the hotel instructions on how to prevent ants. Coming in November, it took us about 20 minutes to reach Curry Village, which was a huge plus.
Location is fantastic and the front desk staff is very friendly. Loss of a star is only due to the seemingly broken spas (was really looking forward to it after long hikes)
When I open the door of the room, I want to cry. It was the typical room that you can see in the TV show, some place where the criminal lives. The carpet was awful and I hated the bedding. Due to the bad impression of this lodge, I regret the yosemite travel. Still, its location is nice, its view is great and ita staff are so kind. But I do not think I will go there again.
Dated room, but good nights sleep. Slightly outside of Yosemite valley, but the YART stopped at the Hotel so we could get in to the valley for $7 return. The restaurant didn't have great options for veggies.
Since there is not much to say, location is ok. Room =old, dirty, versifft, broken.
Worst place I've ever stayed… bar none. The bathroom was a complete mess; everything felt dirty; and the most dreaded of things — bed bugs. OMG… never again!
Reasonable rooms, although ours was in need of some decoration. We had a river view room on 3rd floor and left the glass door to the balcony open with just the screen door in place at night. Woken at 3 a. M. To find a big raccoon in our room foraging for food. He quickly left when we turned on the light, and climbed into the next balcony! The food in the restaurant was good!
Well equipped kitchen in a spacious room. Higher price due to close proximity to the park so that was worth it. Nice restaurant and lounge on premises. Would be 5 star if they didn't charge $10 a day for Wi-Fi.
Stayed here recently for a few nights with my wife and baby. Though we got a good rate (since we stayed mid-week during the off season) and our room was relatively spacious, I was pretty disappointed with the overall experience. Old tube TVs, shower 20 years past its prime, grimy-feeling carpet, kitchenette with no linens (not even paper towels), poor lighting, ant infestation in the bathroom. My impression was definitely that the hotel relies on its proximity to Yosemite to draw visitors, and doesn't need to bother much with keeping up the rooms since the national park demand will always be there. It's true that the location does save probably an hour of driving per day vs. The next-closest hotel options (in Mariposa), but I think I'll still opt for the extra driving next time.
The location from Yosemite Valley is perfect for the price. We went a family trip and ate dinner on the first night that we were there. The dinner was alright, however we ended up paying 80.00 for four people. The rooms were decent enough, however the bathrooms had mold in them and my husband woke up with ants crawling on him. The ants were also all over our clothes. When we let the manager know what was happening he advised us that it was not his problem and it was housekeeping that should have done their job. In another words, he said he didn't care. The location is great, but the service is horrible and food is very pricey for the quality and horrible service that is provided.
Good place for the price. The running water from the river was soothing. I would recommend this place to anyone that likes nature. Otherwise you are in the wrong place.
This Lodge exceeded our expectations. The room was comfortable, the gas fireplace provided a romantic touch to the room. We were able to keep the window open at night and it was relaxing to hear the sound of the river without distraction. The staff was courteous, and the room attendant met all of our needs.
Wifi 10$/day? Really? And in the lobby you place a sign asking for liking you on Facebook? Really? You want me to pay you to like you? Every starbucks has free Wi-Fi! AC did not work properly in our room. PS: rooms "looking to creek" are not better than the others, all look onto the valley mountains so I would not pay more for that.
We have stayed at this hotel and had a perfectly fine experience. The thing about Yosemite is that it is wilderness and in the middle of nowhere, and that's the way it should be! Yosemite isn't Paris. There are no grand restaurants or hotels (except the Ahwanee, if you insist on luxury in the wilderness). We go to Yosemite to hike and camp and sometimes we stay here at Yosemite View when we have non-campers with us. We now have kids and they enjoy the swimming pools immensely. All rooms have kitchenettes so pack an ice chest and groceries and plan on cooking in or BBQ outdoors while the kids enjoy the pools. Enjoying wine next to the sound of the river is lovely. The beds/baths and rooms are clean enough and certainly warmer and softer than the ground! This hotel is beyond perfect considering its location, and perfectly adequate facilities.
This was the worst place I have ever stayed. The rooms all smelled very bad and were disgusting. Our room had feces on the wall and large stains on the carpets and sheets. The bathtub was full of someone else's hair, and the shower curtain was filthy as well. The towels were thin and kind of greasy. The pools were dirty. On the patio, windows were duct taped and in need of repair.
Great location, very close to the north entrance to the park. River view rooms have a small patio overlooking the Merced River. Patio furniture is not the best but the sound of the water makes up for it. The double queen room was large enough for a family of 4 and the bathroom was large. The jacuzzi tub was ridiculously large! The restaurant is set up for a buffet breakfast which makes for a good start to the day but the wait can be an hour to be seated for dinner. Servers were pleasant and really trying but there were just too many guests. Rooms have a kitchenette with an stovetop, sink, microwave and small fridge. Bring your own food for most of your meals if you can and just have dinner one night in the restaurant. I would stay here again.
The service is ok. The rooms big and with balcony or terrace equipped. Unfortunately it smells like some rooms every now and again gas, which is somewhat uncomfortable. Internet access costs $ 9 99 per 24 hours. The pool was not very clean.

Great hotel just outside of Yosemite. Honestly, I prefer this hotel vs The Valley Lodged inside Yosemite. This hotel have more modern amenities and the rooms are a lot bigger.
