Love the place and friendly staff. Very affordable and staff was accommodating. Booked it for 3 persons with a third party but decided to have 4people in the room and communicating with them was easy. We were still in the Philippines and our changes have been fixed by the lodge already. Was able to stay in a different lodge because flight got cancelled and it was nothing compared to Alpenhof. Would definitely stay here again if we visit Mammoth. Keep up the good work!

Great reception staff and very comfortable accommodation in this vibrant location. I love cuddly pillows and soft sheets so wasn’t disappointed. Complimentary water on arrival and nice toiletries provided. Very clean and room well appointed. Local eateries in very easy walking distances. Great summer stopover site.

I felt so welcomed and the staff went above and beyond making this stay perfect. Short stay on our way to another lodge with food for 8 days. The staff insisted on storing it in the kitchen for us to prevent bears from getting in our car. Thank you so much.

The lodge has old rustic look and feel. Clean room. Friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast. Did not see an elevator, so might be a problem for handicapped.

Quaint old building feels like skiing into a 1950s chalet. 4 story walk up, no elevator. Full European breakfast included with room. Some larger ones have a fire please. Very kind staff, like you expect to find in a small town. It's like staying in someone's huge house. Best bar in town, in the basement.

Great value… Lots of reviews call this place dated and they are right, but that's the cool part. Upgrades might lose some of the flare. Great beds. Bar in the basement was a plus. The Euro breakfast was a great value added option.

Nice and quiet hotel, great breakfast.
The hotel has a pool open during summer and a hot tub during winter, which we didn't use. The rooms were clean and comfortable and furnished like you would expect from a hotel called Alpenhof, though not old-fashioned or used but had more like a cool Austrian retro charm.
Employees were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again for another visit of the Mammoth Lakes area.

Very nice and helpful service. The rooms are large and the breakfast was well stocked. Only our bathroom had better days as well as the in-house washing machine.

What a quaint place to stay! They upgraded us to a king size bed room. Very clean and comfy bed. Restaurant wasn’t open yet but ate across the street. Not very good selection for food. Friendly staff and wonderful breakfast with lots of variety. Would stay here again.

A useful hotel to go to Skiar to Mammoth Lakes or if you are coming from Yosemite route and the Tioga Pass is open, but there is no point going up so high to stay.

Great swiss inspired spot right across from the gondola in Mammoth. Rooms were spacious. Continental breakfast had alot of options.

Nice and clean place pricing was quite good I was there off season. It's close to the village and most importantly about a 100 yards from mammoth brewery.

Perfect location! Shopping, Starbucks and the gondola is right across the street. Breakfast is wonderful which includes lots of healthy options.

Only went to the Clockwork Cellar bar, locals dive bar, and it was fun all around! Awesome people, bartenders, and pub grub.

A useful hotel to go to Skiar to mammoth evils or if you are coming from Yosemite route and the Tioga Pasa is open, but there is no point going up so high to stay.

Great location right across from the Gondola at The Village. They have a good restaurant and bar in the hotel. Also, they took you up with breakfast in the morning.

We love this place. They take great care of you for a great value compared to the Village. And, it's right across the street!

Courteous and thoughtful staff. Our room had no bathtub, and our shower produced a mere trickle. Place is right next to a gondola that takes you to the lifts.

This is our favorite place to stay in Mammoth. Nice rooms and close to everything, lifts, food, etc.

Shabby old motel. Stairs, no elevator. In need of maintenance. Wifi available for only 2 devices per room. Breakfast is European style, hardboiled eggs, cold cuts, milk in pitchers, over ripe bananas. Yucky pastries. There are shabby rooms with fireplaces.

Nice hotel, large room, huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was OK too, yet not great. Wifi is really really slow.

This is a fine hotel in a great location, but better for the winter season. No AC in the rooms makes summer nights too hot. Shower heads are build for someone under 5 feet tall.

Had to find a place to stay in the middle of the night on a Saturday and this place was very accommodating. The room is nice with a fridge and safe. Very clean. Some times the people working at a place care, this is one of those places for us.

The rooms are really nice and we had a great view into the Village. We got a room with a kitchen which was nice (although we didn't really use it). The room stayed really warm and the beds were really comfortable. The free breakfast was pretty good too. A good amount of choices.

Excellent location in the village plaza. Very friendly and helpful staff. It's much cheaper than the nearby chain hotel competitors. Continental breakfast is above average. Our room was comfortable, but we weren't overly worried about it, as we see spent all day skiing. The shower was low pressure and the temperature was extremely sensitive — that's our only real complaint.

I've been coming to the lodge for the past 10yrs. And unless someone is getting a house I won't stay anywhere else. I come to Mammoth for the snow. And this lodge is the best place in town. It's across the street from the gondola that take you to the mountain. You have the village a stone throw away. I never need to drive anywhere once I'm here. I usually get the one bedroom with the fire place or the cottages in the back with the full kitchen! Make sure your next trip to Mammoth you check in to the Alpenhof!

Best decision ever to stay here! Great room, comfy bed, hot spa and sauna, free breakfast, super friendly and helpful staff, and the clocktower cellar pub/restaurant downstairs is the best! Happy hour from 4-7pm every day with great food for $5 and so many beers on tap! Can't speak highly enough of this hotel! Christina on the reception desk and all the staff here are exceptional!

Very funny: Right in the United States an Alpenhof Lodge in style of in Austria. Rooms as far as ok, slightly older, but cozy. For a night absolutely ok. Very friendly reception. Breakfast is absolutely top. To recommend.

Got into Alpenhof on short notice for a great deal for a cabin. Fantastic desk staff with some great recommendations for area dining. Comfortable room and bed with plenty of space to stretch out. Great location right across the street from the Village too!

The free breakfasts and free hot Coco all day are amazing. The location is a very small walk from the gondola that goes up to the ski slopes, and it is also right by a few amazing restaurants. The sauna and jacuzzi are a plus. The only real downside are the bathrooms. Showers are small and the supplied shampoo and body soap are minimal.

Simple, clean, across the street from the village and gondola to Canyon Lodge. Free breakfast and on site restaurant and bar. Stayed here 3 years in a row.

Location, location, location… We have stayed there twice and love the ability to walk to several restaurants, the gondola and the rental shops. Parking is free and continental breakfast is provided. Wi-fi is spotty and the bathrooms are small, but all in all I would stay there again. There is a bar, restaurant and a hot tub all within the main lodge.

I was recently in Mammoth with my husband and we stayed at the Alpenhof. This is a beautifully quaint lodge just steps from world renowned skiing and a lovely village brimming with shops and eateries. Their onsite restaurant Petra's is not to be missed and boost an extensive wine list along with top notch gourmet food. The onsite bar "Clocktower Cellar" is a fun and lively place to hangout to drink a beer or have a cocktail (the Totchos are a must to order).
Overall, Alpenhof was a wonderful experience, that offered a courteous staff that went above and beyond, lovely rooms, comfy beds, a great breakfast and much more. I will always stay at the Alpenhof when I visit Mammoth.

Just finished backpacking and were looking for a nice place to enjoy our 24th anniversary. They weren't the cheapest or the priciest, but for some reason we picked them. Other reviews are fairly accurate, but I guess they didn't have the chance to enjoy happy hour in the bar downstairs and have a 395 on tap (after being given a few samples of other excellent beers) and talk with the bartender and another backpacker about how incredible the area is, then go up and have an outstanding dining experience (ok, maybe the hangar steak could have been a tad more tender). The service overall was excellent, friendly, down-to-earth. The breakfast was included and continental so we didn't expect much, and it actually reminded us of what we got at many of the stops on our Rick Steve's Europe tour, so we liked it if only for the fond memories.

I stayed here because of its proximity to the Bluesalalooza — a nice easy walk. My room was nice, with a very large semi-separate living room, apart from the bedroom/bath. There were two TV's — one in each room. The walls are somewhat thin — I could just about hear a conversation next door — but it was quiet and peaceful after dark. The electricity could use an upgrade — the only grounded outlet was in the bathroom. A desk for a laptop would have been a welcome addition. There's a gas fireplace in the living room, but the gas appeared to be shut off for the summer (not that I needed it in July, though summertime nights can be chilly). Breakfast is just basic pastries and toast/bagels/hardboiled eggs, but served in a nice room. Just across the street from the Village, where there are plenty of restaurants and shops. I'd stay here again.

Quiet and pleasant hotel, not the big luxury but room spacious typical of American motels. Friendly staff.

I've stayed here many times. Sure it's not up to date, but the beds are comfy the place is clean and the location is super. Wi-Fi connection is slow, but if you go into the lobby there is a better connection. Lost my iTouch on the last trip and when I called, a couple of days later, John at the front desk, said no one had been in our unit since we left, put me on hold and ran over to look for it. What other hotel would do that for you? We'll be back.

Our stay was really good and the location is perfect. Directly 5min to the little town with all the bars and restaurants. Room was clean and big. Nothing to complain.
