So grateful to find this gem of a hotel and the opportunity to share my opinion. On all the wonderful people and everything they did. To help. Too many names to fit them all in here and list everything all at once right now. 😊

Killer roof terrace with pool, bar & restaurant. Outstanding service all around.

My husband and I stayed here in Jan 2020.
They upgraded our room to the Penthouse and we have never felt more pampered! They took excellent care of every desire and we had and it made for The most carefree, romantic evening! We were going to go out but who needs to see celebrities when you feel like one yourself? We got dressed up and ordered in, the steak was delicious! The custom fireplace and outdoor heaters were amazing with the California breeze! The surround sound speakers with music of our choice made the experience that mush more custom! The bed was comfy. Room And views were beautiful. Roof top bar had a very cool vibe and a view of the Hollywood sign! This was the grand finale of our trip and we are so grateful for the upgrade bc it made our last night in LA ours, and so special! Thanks! We would love to return someday!

Overall excellent, great location!

This area is really the dead zone at night and there’s nothing in proximity to walk to. I’m usually very happy with Kimpton but this is a major disappointment.

I want to say something better, but frankly, what a stiff bill for crappy experience. 24 hours without Wi-Fi? even Marriot does better than that. Staff on the rooftop postage stamp bar have alot to learn about service. And after being out for most of the day we return to an uncleaned room despite leaving the "please clean me now" hanger on the door. A disappointing, and not to be repeated, experience. Twice as bad since this was our family vacation.

Great location but that is all. Dirty shabby rooms — saggy sofas, dirty windows. The rooftop pool is false advertising. It’s the size of a hot tub. It would be totally awkward to use it because it’s in the middle of their restaurant. Rude staff. Nobody seems to care about customer service. A Kimpton in name only. No charm at all.

I just love this hotel — rooms are modern and spacious. Front desk staff is phenomenal!

Check Your Credit Card Statement! The hotel, room, and amenities were good. I only stayed there for one night for business (in at 10 PM and out at 730 AM). As I completed my expense report, I noticed an extra charge to my credit card for $18 after I checked out. So I had to waste my time to call the hotel to see what the charge was for and to have it removed. They added minibar charges to my stay for 2 waters I didn't drink. I was just really irritated I had to spend my time addressing this. They said I was refunded the money to my card, but I am still waiting. To be continued…

We live in the area but had to book a hotel for a night after a power outage in our neighborhood, and I'm quite glad we ended up here. First, we love the Kimpton brand of hotels and have stayed in quite a few across the US. They're always welcoming and pet friendly. When we arrived and they upgraded us to a bigger room, not sure if it was the Deluxe or Premiere room, but it was lovely and spacious. There are bikes for rent, and service was great. Valet was quick to get our car to us when we needed. The experience at this Kimpton made our stressful situation a pleasant one.

My stay here was pretty decent. Didn't get to enjoy free wine hour : (but definitely enjoyed the free coffee. The rooftop restaurant was pretty nice. Staff was super friendly. Parking was $39/night which was kinda pricey (for me). The morning we were getting ready to leave, the firealarms went off but no fire or emergency, so as you can imagine, packing up and waiting in line to checkout with an alarm blaring in your ears wasn't very pleasant but I'm sure wasn't their fault.

Great place, wonderful bathroom. The roof top is awesome with 360 degree views. The view in our room wasn't great and parking is $40/day, but it wasn't enough to detract from the overall experience. Highly recommend!

Bad Experience with Inconsistencies — I made a reservation for my birthday weeks ahead of time at a specific table in order to have good view of fireworks and be near fire pit. The day of I was told that this, or any of the tables may not be available. What's the point of the reservation? The employee lady that I spoke with was also kind of aggressive and rude over the phone. 2) Once I got there with my group and my bday cake, I was told by the manager Adam that I would be charged a $2.50 fee per person to cut my own cake, when while I made the reservation weeks ago with another manager (Mo) I was told that this fee didn't exhaust any longer. He even put me on hold to ensure. I ended up not eating my cake with my family. 3) Ww gave the restuarant our parking receipt to valet, however, once we checked our car out we were told there's a parking fee. What's the point of validating? We were told by the parking lot employee that if we ate there we wouldn't have to pay parking, but the front desk says something different. She also had a big attitude. I'm non-confrontational, so it made me feel as if I would never want to visit this place again.
Also, bathrooms were very messy.

Beautiful and sheek hotel. Parking is tough but that's not surprising in that part of town. Excellent pillows!

I love the modern furnishings in this hotel. The room was nice and comfortable. The front desk held our bags before check-in and after checkout. We ate at the beautiful rooftop restaurant. I had the goodness bowl and it was amazing. The location was good, short ride to The Grove and the Melrose Trading Post.

Bianca Perez, the hostess upstairs is amazing. Not just because she is down to earth but because she is amazingly friendly. I enjoyed Karen as well she is a beautiful person and a fantastic bartender. My first vacation in years I enjoyed it! :) :)

Wonderful 3 night stay! The service was fabulous and the property very nice and clean. Love the lobby and the places to relax. Everyone is so helpful. We have stayed at Kimptons before and will continue to do so in the future. One negative note Brad one of the bartender was extremely rude and overpriced us for a cocktail. He had a horrible attitude. Ashley handled everything with a professional attitude and sent Us a complimentary bottle of prosecco and chocolate strawberries. Thank you!

I only ate at the restaurant. I food was excellent, but service was lacking. They seemed extremely understaffed and struggled to attend everyone's needs in a timely fashion. This would not keep me from going back though. My overall experience was still pleasant.

Room drank a bottle of water unexpectedly gave me two times deduction! Why? Professional hotel management system should not be like this.

Great staff, clean rooms, nice atmosphere. Good for work trips. Very close to Petersen museum and Central to shopping and sightseeing.

The map led us to an ally, but we quickly worked out where the entrance to the hotel was and enjoyed a nice meal with great views for a decent price. Overall my guest and I were very happy.

I stayed here this past weekend for a girls trip and was blown away. The staff was so helpful and sweet. The view from the rooftop was breathtaking! I spent a lot of my time up there. One of their perks is that they have free cocktail hour from 5-6pm. I will definitely be staying here the next time I'm in LA ❤️

Hotels were nice and spacious. Only annoying thing is valet parking only at $39/night. The place is dog friendly without any pet fees. Close to central la.

Now this brunch spot is a nice little hidden secret. It sits on the rooftop of this hotel and you can enjoy your meal surrounding a pool on a warm, sunny day with a nearly a 360 degree view of WLA or take in shade inside while watching the goings on outside. It's a great date spot or even hang with family/friends. It's not a huge menu but it's just right.

I knew I would be arriving shortly after midnight, so I notified the hotel ahead of time. Upon getting there, I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk in order to check me in. There was no apology whatsoever. As a frequent traveler and IHG loyalty program member, this was a huge disappointment. Next day I literally canceled 60 more nights I had booked here for the upcoming year. Also, the rooms were fairly outdated and extremely musty. Definitely not sufficiently good enough to qualify as a 4-star hotel for LA in my experience.

Great rooms, large for families. Fabulous rooftop bar and pool area. Could use a little more variety in the food menus. Service needs improving.

Great views from the top floor restaurant overlooking the hills. Food really good and not overwhelmingly expensive. Drinks bit pricey. I would recommend this places for the price and location.

Comfortable room and bed. We had a shared balcony/seating area which was nice and colorfully painted. Walkable to the LACMA.

The hotel lobby looked really nice. We ate at the rooftop bar but, didn't stay as a guest. The food was delicious and there were great views.

Great staff. Comfortable room. Cool rooftop restaurant, bar, lounge, pool. Pro tip: If you're arriving after 10:30pm on a weekday, don't plan on eating a late meal there. Kitchen closes at 10:30pm and there is nothing open in the area.

Beautiful views; very clean and classy rooms. Impeccable service. The air conditioning couldn't quite handle the heat wave.

Love the hotel. It is in a great location to drive anywhere in the LA area. The staff even found out that it was my girlfriend's birthday and surprised her with a prosecco bar and a personal hand written note in our room after we checked in! Would definitely stay here again.

I visited California for the first time last summer and we stayed at this hotel. The room was amazing and all the staff was genuine & so so sweet. It happened to be my birthday when we came and they brought me this cute little tray with fruit & dessert. They were also very helpful when it came to what sightseeing tours to go on and what tourist attractions to go to. I hope to come back to Los Angeles for my senior trip and if I do, I will definitely try and stay here.

Decided to stay here despite my better judgment from reading the many bad reviews. Only giving one star because that's the lowest I can give here. Easily the absolute worst experience I've had at a hotel, period. Worst hotel in LA. The general manager Jessica Rincón and her subordinate Cesar, charged me (400+ dollars) for damages I had nothing at all to do with. We had video evidence proving that we didn't cause any damage at all to their run down hotel, and they ignored that and maintained their false, baseless claims. Our video evidence totally contradicted their claims and not to mention the hours we had to wait for the GM to even show her face. I've stayed at other Kimpton's previously and had a great experience, but this place has made me take them off my list for all future travel. This manager needs to be terminated or at the very least retrained. I'm honestly amazed at how bad her (Jessica) service was, how do you hire such inept people to run a business? Do yourself a favor and scratch this place off your list. There's too many good hotels in LA to waste your money here.

Love this hotel — great service, beautiful comfortable rooms and great location. Close to the LACMA and lots of other good stuff.

Since we were staying at the Hotel Wilshire we thought we would try the Roof Top bar & restaurant located on the 6th floor of the hotel. To start off the view is amazing and worth a visit once. The service is just OK at best and the food I wouldn't order again. As for the hotel the beds are not comfortable and for over $300 per night you would expect better. For us this place is one and done.

Such a perfect place don't have enough great things to say really! What a wonderful find. From the outside The Hotel Wiltshire maintains all the charm of old Los Angeles. Beautiful rose bushes, herb garden, and the cutest little pomegranate bush outside our door. On the inside all the modern comforts you could expect. Flat screen TV with premium cable, fridge microwave, coffee maker, iron, hair dryer and more. The room was very clean and well maintained. Our room was recently renovated and was superb. The free breakfast was well stocked and delicious with great coffee. Robert at the front desk gave us great tips on local sights and the best ways to get there.

Super friendly staff in a beautiful hotel. Room was extremely clean and very comfortable. Toothpaste was brought up to the room about a minute after a call to the front desk. There's a little bit of road noise even on the 6th floor, but it wasn't bad at all. Drinks and service at The Rooftop gets a 5/5 too!

Nice hotel, but a little pricy. Staff was very nice and courteous. There is no public parking, if you want to park at the hotel you have to pay for the valet service which is also a little pricy. Rooms are clean and very nice. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

Very quaint and elegant establishment with a remodeled, modern feel! Everyone has their own private unit and parking spot, almost like a mini house. The staff was VERY accommodating and helpful. I would love to stay here again and will definitely recommend it to others.

Reservation was for a spot outdoor on the roof, but due to the cooler weather they moved our party indoors, made a custom space for us, and just took care of us so well. I was so impressed and the food was incredible!

Lousy service. Went to the rooftop bar on a Saturday night with four well-dressed couples. There were six empty tables at 9:00 pm and they refused to seat us. Ready to spend several hundred on drinks, but they'd rather have empty tables. Manager should be fired! Inept staff!

The food on the roof (at lunch) is not good. I've been here twice and both times I couldn't finish what I was served. The salad was warm and the chicken was like rubber (It did not look cooked, was pink, had no seasoning, and tasted weird).

Another Kimpton hotel delivers! Beautiful hotel, excellent customer service from every single employee and a great rate for what you get. Love being a Kimpton rewards member, too. *Oh, and I added a note that we were staying there to celebrate a birthday and they left a wonderful welcome surprise for us in the room. A fruit and nut snack tray complete with a chilled bottle of champagne and a handwritten birthday note. Lovely.

Valet service is awesome with really nice folks. The facility is pretty. HOWEVER a, my room reservation was changed WITHOUT notice and downgraded at least two room types. I'd gone to their hotel for the Santa Monica suite, for crying out loud. They did bump us up to the Sunset suite because they didn't have any Santa Monica suites available. What?!? I was seriously irritated and the $50 credit didn't make that better. I WILL NOT utilize this hotel again, even though I like the Kimpton change.

Contemporary. Sleek. Modern. Tech Savvy. What am I describing? No, not a new smartphone or tablet. Not a new luxury car or pc either. These are the adjectives I use when describing The Hotel Wilshire. The Hotel Wilshire was not at all what I expected – but in a good way. Upon arrival the narrow valet with entrance similar to a New York parking garage, I must say was daunting, but once inside the NY vibe disappeared. A modern, glass, crisp interior awaited. I may not be the typical traveler, then again, maybe I am as I travel with two mobile phones, a tablet, and at least two laptops (among other things) ; and the ability to use my devices as if I’m at home is usually not a luxury. However, I was wrong this time and The Hotel Wilshire delivered in spades meeting my demand. I’m not sure what inspired such tech savvy, but wall a mounted dock for HDMI, VGA, S-Video, RGB, IPOD / IPHONE / IPad, LAN, USB, and audio? Mitsubishi climate controls, LED lighting, Wi-Fi that wasn’t anemic, and more. I had to ask myself: “Where am I? ” Is this a sort of Shangri La? In addition to the technical “everything” I just mentioned, the room is styled oh so well. I am a high rise dweller that enjoys modern decor with a hint of minimalist I couldn’t have picked a better place. One will note ample closet space and a sexy chaise with hidden storage below. Quite possibly the softest bed and pillows in my last six months of travel, crisp and clean lighting and a bath with are utterly sleek surfaces.

We checked in for the last 3 nights of our recent vacation to the US. The check in was fast and friendly. We got to the first room and I noticed that the entrance to the room stank of cleaning chemicals (maybe covering or cleaning up after a smoker) we decide to give the room a bash as the smell was only in the entrance way. After a few minutes my partner noticed that the rug in the room was dirty. Bits of food etc were all over the rug. He phoned reception and then moved us to another room. This room smelt much fresher and was clean. Only 1 fault with the room was a really deep soaking tub that was also the shower so you had to step out over a very high wall to get in and out of the shower. Very risky as I have problems with my legs sometimes. The next morning when I went to wet shave I found out that I could not fill the wash basin as the plug would not go down enough to close the drain. I hate to waste water and here at home we are on a water meter and therefore we don't waste water at home so behave exactly the same when we are away. Went to have a bath the next day found the bath had the same problem. We also noticed that the hotel valet parking is $36 a day. We noticed that there is a self parking garage 2 doors down that only charges $12 a day and come and go as much as you want so we move the car down to this garage. All in found the hotel to be very nice with a glass of wine to greet you every evening between 5 and 6 pm.

Very cute hotel. Mixup with our reservation due to switch over to new parent company, but got an upgrade after they sorted it out. Awesome rooftop restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Uncomfortable experience and not worth the money spent! 1. When we check in, there is no mention of the room type. They just hand us the key cards and left us only to find out it's not our preferred room type after we opened the door. (later we wanted to change the room type to two queen beds and of course we were told they are not available. ) 2. What's worse is that the air condition is not even on when we first got in to the room, we have to sweat for 10 minutes before AC cools the room down. Imagine you were already exhausted while traveling and now you have to suffer from sweating! 3. Nothing was mentioned about the wireless internet access either; we have to request the code to use the internet 4. Valet parking is expensive ($26) a night and service is slow 5. Mini bar refrig was locked and no keys was handed over and they did not mention about the mini bar when check in either 6. Insufficient room lighting (so dim that you can't read a book in case you want to) 7. Staff was cold so it's definitely not worth the money we spent ($740+ for 3 nights), not even worth for half of the cost, definitely over-rated on expedia.

The rooms of the hotel are very modern and clean. We even have a free Upgrade to a Suite. Unfortunately, this was in the 2. Th floor and we had absolutely no view. The pictures of the hotel are a bit misleading. The Pool is not usable, as it directly in the Restaurant. It is also the location of the hotel on a main road. Pro: Farmers Market, The Grove and CBS Studios within walking distance. Cons: staff not always very friendly.
