Nice little motel in Joshua Tree. Not as bad as other motels. Water did come out warm from sink so you have to get water at nearby stores (Arco Gas, Walmart, etc). Would stay again. Note: Wi-Fi was slow.

Great little find of a hotel, has all you could need to enjoy Joshua Tree, nothing but praise for the owners who maintain this place. Special mention to Ravi who encouraged us to check out Keys View within the National Park at Sunset, if he hadn't we would never have seen the incredible vista it provides at twilight. Cheers!

I stayed here for the night on a few occasions while wandering the desert for a month. I was always grateful to talk to Ravi on the phone as I returned to civilization, and happier still that he provided a cozy, clean, affordable room for me. This motel is a perfect place to stay for anyone exploring Joshua Tree national park and wants to stay in the lovely little town of Joshua Tree supporting a kind and generous man in his local small business. Thank you so much to Ravi and his staff, and I look forward to returning again some day.

Out of 90 hotels/motels I stayed at over this 3 month road trip this is the best place to be… by far… super clean, friendly management, great price.

Cute place, very reasonable price. There is a court yard area in the back with a pool and covered smoking area.

Zero smoke smell. New remodeled shower, in my room at least. Really friendly staff. Spot on for the price point.

The Safari is a very good value — good rates, comfortable and nice n' quiet! No upstairs here — just one row of good rooms — which is a big deal for me because I need to work in my room. The proprieters have been very good to me here — no complaints. Regular coffee and bath service — and parking where I can see my car (also important). Can not beat the price and last but not least — there are animal sculptures in a courtyard area in back that I really like. You can sit outside on a nice night and watch the stars.

Very rude. Passed judgement without listening. Slammed door in face. Looking for a room for our elderly parents. We and our small dog weren't staying here. No communication. Just said no pets and slammed the door. Place may be nice but the owner is nasty rude. Maybe to many bad experiences in the lodging business. Sell your business if you hate it so much. Slamming the door in a strangers face is the ultimate in rudeness. We sleep in our Tesla from time to time… It has climate control. And you are a liar. We have video too. You saw a dog in a car and made false assumptions without discussion. Female, elderly Asian opened door next to little window and said no pets… and slammed the door in my face. Four witnesses. Maybe you having bad day. If I was owner, I be very nice. Can't hide the view no matter what you say or do.

Great for what I needed: a cheap place to crash between climbing days in Joshua Tree.

Great price for the location and time of year, very friendly owner/staff. Perfect for climbers/hikers seeking a shower and bed for the night or fleeing the elements. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Our road weary eyes were a little disappointed when we checked in but after grabbing dinner at the nearby Saloon and getting a good night's sleep, we thought the Safari Inn provided a safe, clean and comfortable, if a tad dated and slightly dusty, room. The back patio was a welcoming sight in the morning sunlight. We were disappointed that the pool was closed, however. Walking distance to Joshua Tree's North entrance and Visitor's Center. Staff was courteous. We got a good night's sleep for a good price.

Clean, safe, comfortable, affordable, quaint, closest shelter to Joshua Tree NP. Courteous service. Local business that supports other local businesses. Perfect find for this solo female traveler arriving into a strange town at night.

Super friendly staff. Perfect place for hikers and campers when the weather turns bad. Felt safe and very clean. :) walls are thin suggest asking for rooms 111 or 112 away from the busy street. Had a great stay.

Yes it's a 5-star motel in the middle of the desert. Relative to the area, where your choices are a tent, the back of your truck, or an expensive hotel (if you can find one). No, the Safari Motor Inn is kitschy and cute. Clean and quite. The owners are friendly and give you coupons to eat at the local restaurants. What I love about this area is the LACK of amenities, I go to Joshua Tree to get away. I want no trappings of big cities, just a warm bed, hot shower and a microwave meal.

Location is the key to this motel. Walkable to all town businesses and very near the Joshua Tree national park entrance. Rooms are woefully out of date but serviceable and adequately clean. Owner is friendly and can entertain you with stories and videos from India. Quaint desert garden courtyard in rear of motel. Competitively priced among budget offerings in the area.

When my bf and I found out that all reservable camp sites in Joshua Tree were taken for Thanksgiving weekend, we decided to get a motel room instead of counting on a walk-up site. Considering that night temps that weekend got down to the low 30s, I am SO grateful we couldn't camp (that was a crazy idea anyway). I did some searches for motels near the park and this place came up as the closest to the West Entrance. It had decent reviews and the price was reasonable ($50ish during a holiday weekend) so we booked a room. It was a fairly large room, with a king bed, decent-sized flat panel TV, a small fridge, love seat and coffee table. The decor was typically small motel-dreary but I'd seen worse (like, at the only other motel in JTree I've ever stayed at). It was pretty dang cold when we first got in but once we cranked up the wall heater unit, it got nice and toasty. It was quite loud, though, and I think we turned it off sometime in the middle of the night. The bathroom shower was a little weird to get in and out of but at least everything was in good working order. We stayed two nights and we thought it was a decent experience and wouldn't mind staying here again should the need arise.

Wonderful, comfortable, CLEAN and AFFORDABLE! Walking distance to everything and OUTSTANDING hospitality. A vintage hotel with owners who live onsite and have vintage manners. Free Wi-Fi too.

Stayed there for one night in my way to the grand canyon. Good prices and the room was alright.

Excellent Motel under the loving leadership at an excellent price/performance ratio. Already longer in operation, but all very clean and tidy, very spacious. We would come here again any time.

For the price this was a great little motel at the entrance to the park. It's a little old and tired, but it seemed to be kept up well and was very clean. Our bed was amazingly comfortable, and we appreciated having both a refrigerator and microwave in our room. We were able to connect to the motel's free Wi-Fi without any issues. It made for the perfect base camp for our Joshua Tree hiking vacation. The owner was also very personable and friendly.

The man was very nice! I arrived late and he gave me a large discount on my room. The place doesnt look like the ritz, but inside its very clean and has everything — really good Wi-Fi, microfridge, microwave, chairs, table, bed, drawers, etc. And TV with lots of channels. The shower may look small but I found it bigger when I stepped in. The only reason I dont givethis an excellent review is because you can hear the trucks on the highway which it is right by, but after 9 or so the noise died out. If I ever come this way again, I am definitely staying here.

Best location to visit the Joshua Tree National Park. Visitor Center of the Park just around the corner. Very friendly Manager, responds to wishes and gives good advice. Clean room, comfortable bed and very comfortable despite the older facilities and charming. Parking directly in front of the entrance to rooms! Would the Safari re-elect Motor Inn.

It is really fine in this motel. Nice staff and rooms were tidy and spacious. Nobody should be afraid of staying here. And above all — it is few meters away from national park entrance.
