We made a quick over nighter. Room was quaint. Definitely a older motel. We had clean sheets and it was quiet. Could use a refresh but overall we had a nice stay. The area is absolutely stunning and beautiful. I would love to come and stay for a few more days next time. The drive up to big bear is very scenic and was really enjoyable. Traffic was a little crazy but there are several traffic lanes spaced out to help with congestion up the mountain. If you get a chance it definitely is worth the drive. We came up late and the staff got us our key and was very pleasant even at the late hour.
You don't often meet a young couple who work so hard together as a team to see their dream come to fruition. The young owners of the Deep Creek Motel are responsible hard working people who offer a very reasonably priced room with a willingness to go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience. You can't beat their price and it's right off the highway. If you're in the area I strongly recommend you help these people see their dream come true. I guarantee you'll leave with a smile.

Parking was a little difficult to find in the dark. Experience with the office was kind and fast. Really funky artwork in the room and the bed is super creaky. Key to the room stuck a bit and took some jiggling to lock/unlock and the deadbolt couldn't be locked from the outside at all. Overall it's clean. Biggest issue for me is the AC in the room is broken. I know they know because there was a small brand new box fan in the room that you can't put anywhere because there are few outlets and the fan can't stand on it's own. You get what you pay for type thing I suppose. Expect at least half an hour to get into big bear if that's your goal.
