Best service and rooms! The beds are ridiculously comfortable and the location is right on Old Town, in walking distance from five wineries and numerous dining locations. Will definitely stay again!

Stayed at this hotel on a Friday night. I will never stay at another hotel again when Im in town. The rooms are so quaint and historical. It was such an icredible verall experience and reasonably priced. Thank you for our expernce!

Very quaint and historical. Quiet. Right in the middle of all the wine tasting rooms.

Me and my wife stayed in the wine room for our 15th anniversary. The room was ready before the scheduled check in time which is a plus. The look and feel of the hotel gives you that sense of comfort with the historical value. The room also had everything you needed, and a comfortable bed. Karen, the owner/operater, was always a text away if we needed anything. We even got a chance to chat with her a little bit about the history of the hotel and the town. The hotel is within walking distance to everything you need, shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms. Even found that all the locals were very friendly and helpful with everything. We definitely want to go back and stay in the Mae West room.

This hotel is in a great location and the accommodations are charming. The owner is a sweetheart, and I will be recommending this hotel to everyone who asks about a place to stay in Cottonwood.

I was fortunate enough to be chosen for Yelp's field trip to the Verde Valley Canyon Railroad. Knowing the night culminated at the Blazin' M Ranch, I wanted to secure local accommodations, as I knew I wouldn't be feelin a 2 hour drive home after a wildly fun day. In the event confirmation, Lindsay included a link to the Cottonwood Hotel with a discount code. That was all I needed… ROOM… BOOKED! Karen, the proprietor was gracious, politely appearing titillated with my non-stop attempts at the humor biz, and personally escorted me to my Wine Room suite. I found the decor appealing, and had my wife been there, she would have as well. After a raucous night of carousing with all things west & wild, I headed for that inviting double bed… but first… stopped to relieve those sloshing iced teas I chug-a-lugged at the saloon. After raising the seat, I let it fly… closing my eyes to become fully in-tune with what is probably the third best sensation the human body can produce. It was right about then, that the teetering seat came crashing back down. How can I put this? It was like Hakeem Olajuwon jumped from the bowl and swatted my hi-pressure stream back in my general direction. The loud crash along with the warm feeling of 'wet leg', which consequently is probably the thirty-seventh worst sensation, jarred me back to reality. That was the only downside of this particular room.

The room we stayed in (the crazy cat) is a very small room, but the photos and description on the website do not try to hide that so you know exactly what you are getting in to when you book it. We have stayed at the cottonwood hotel many times and stayed in this room several of those times. My only complaint is the old heater makes a lot of noise (this was our first stay in the winter so it's never been an issue before) but it definitely keeps the room nice and warm. The best part of the cottonwood hotel is the location. It is right in the middle of old town cottonwood and walking distance from the various restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and bars.

23 Years in AZ and we never had spent time in this gem of a town and Valley. The Cottonwood Hotel is the place to stay in while in this Old Town of Cottonwood. Karen, the Proprietor, has so much knowledge about the area and history about the town itself that she happily shares. We had 2 suites — both were very charming, spotless and amazingly free of desert dust bunnies. The only disappointment was that we did not experience any ghosts. Maybe next time?! although I swear I carried on a midnight conversation with none other than John Wayne.

I should have never called this place. I am taking my Mother to Cottonwood for her 60th Birthday, my husband and I were, yes I said were, going to stay at this hotel. Never. I called for some information before I booked and happened to mention the the owner that the room I was going to book was not requiring a two night minimum stay. That was on Tuesday, now on Friday I went in to book and the room IS requiring a two night Minimum. WTF thank you for ruining my Mothers 60th Birthday. I am blaming you, I will always stay at the Tavern it is a much cleaner and better priced place anyways, that is why they are always booked and you are not.

Just got back from a stay at this quaint hotel. Can't wait to return. We stayed in the Wine Room, next time it's the John Wayne room. It is the first time that my wife and I didn't feel the need to look for any little critters, this was the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. Karen was an amazing host with so much valuable information of the area, that she should write a guide book. It is not a brand new luxury hotel, it is a turn of the century renovated hotel, rich in history and decorated to make you feel like you have taken a small step back in time. But Karen takes care of the place better then any maid at a five star hotel, for sure! The beds are fantastic and the linens and towels are as good as any you will find in those fore-mentioned hotels. Can't say enough about the place and I guess I better stop before you think I'm being paid to write this.

Stayed there April 20 2012 — Great place: CLEAN, COZY, ROMANTIC and real hit with my wife. Highly recommended. Location is great — center of old town and walking distance to Dead Horse state park on the Verde River. There are only a few rooms — maybe 6 or so? We stayed in the Wine Room. There is a nice balcony at the end of the hall overlooking downtown, and great food just across the street. The hotel owner personally cleans and cares for all the rooms. Good free parking too.

Amazing location! We decided to stay at the Cottonwood Hotel because it's right in the middle of historical main street in down town Cottonwood. We were able to walk to all the local wine tasting rooms on Main street, not only that but the great restaurants and shops are also all with in walking distance. The owner Karen was great and took the time to show us the hotel and give us some of the history, she also provided us with discount coupons for the local shops in the area and made our stay very enjoyable. If you are looking to explore Cottonwood this is the place to stay. — Jon G.
