Check in not up to quality of resort — couple of folding tables in a lobby, poor internet; slow and unprofessionally dressed registration staff; room, beds etc pleasant and clean; only one small window in room to view beautiful landscape. Used points + $$ so great value for getaway. Would have liked bring small pet option. Great golf options. Parking near unit POOR. During 4 night stay, often all spaces taken so had to park near another cluster of units and walk up hill. Have handicap tag but no spaces near units to use it. Some people took up 2 spaces with poor parks. Restaurant on property closed.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. Beautiful views of Downtown Tucson on the edge of Sagauro National Park.

We got 2 rooms for a family weekend. The pull out couch bed is broken, there was no bedding on the pull out bed or left any where else in the room. When I asked for bedding they had to bring it to the room much later and gave sheets for a twin bed the bed is a full size, the pool decking is chipped and cracking, there were no pool towels, the front desk person was rude at check in.

Amazing spot in Tucson can’t wait to come back. Will definitely be back again.

Golf course is I excellent shape. The hardest uphill mountain course I have played this time in Tucson AZ.

My checkin was amazing, I believe the young ladies name at the front desk upon check in was Shardae. Her customer service skills are impeccable, she was friendly, courteous and very professional. I had an early lunch at the BBQ restaurant, my server was the same. Great job to all the staff. Definitely 5 stars.

Star Pass Suites was extremely comfortable and perfect for our family stay. All of us especially enjoyed the lamb chop dinner at the Primo Restaurant! The dinner was more than excellent! The service throughout Star Pass was amazing! We highly recommend it! Wish we could have stayed for the whole week!

We stayed here through our timeshare. Nice community tucked away in the hills. Check in was easy. Staff were friendly. Our unit was a one bedroom. Huge common area and full size kitchen. Had a balcony/deck tgat had views of golf course and Tucson. Located only 15 min from the university. They have a restaurant on site.

Relaxing quiet resort in a beautiful setting surrounded by a golf course and desert wildlife. Rooms are dated and in need of maintenance although some are under renovation. Every visit I see a lot of untapped potential at this Shell Vacations timeshare resort. Good to see the updating in progress but once again it seems they're stopping short of the potential of this resort by leaving some needed items undone. Maintenance seems to just be doing a job rather than caring about the overall look of the resort. Onsite restaurant is owned by neighboring JW Marriott, food is great, servers friendly but service is slow.

Beautiful desert views. Helpful staff, but would be nice if decor was more in tune with the very unique surroundings. Once inside, you could be in any hotel anywhere. Comfortable, but not special.

Lovely place. Gourmet kitchen great bed and the linens were top notch. Right on golf course saw a lot of deer javelina etc from the porch.

Loved the location with this being our first visit to Arizona, the location is awesome! The employees went above and beyond to accommodate and show us the property. The rooms have been updated and the reception hall was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The only problem we had was identifying the actual lobby entrance for check in.

Beautiful suite. The staff was very friendly, especially our waitress, Adrianna. We have visited this resort several times over the years, and we always have enjoyed our stay.

The fixtures in the room are worn and show age and much use. The large room window has no “stop lock” (all single story) and cannot be left open if you want the room secure. I asked up at the desk for them to install one when I left in the morning, and when I came back for an afternoon rest, nothing was changed. The phone conversations in the next room are easily audible (and when they use speaker phone, you get to hear both sides! ). The temperature in the room was varying and it was tough to get a comfortable stable temp. DID NOT get a good night’s sleep, and have two more nights at my conference.

The staff is excellent. Nick who works for the Catalina grill I believe, is very knowledgeable and professional. The rooms were nice but could have been a little cleaner, some of the towels had yellow staining (probably rust). Overall, I was very pleased with my stay.

Super clean. Very 4 or 5 star looking everywhere. Sometimes, javelina can be passing through in the mornings. Beautiful view of mountains, desert fauna and flora, and of Tucson down in the valley. The beds and pillows are sooo amazingly comfortable. Spacious units. Lots of room to park for free next to your unit. Beautifully and well kept landscaping.

Enjoyed our stay very much. We were in a one bedroom with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Alternated between meals out and cooking in well equipped kitchen. Great view from patio included visits from javelina and roadrunner. Close to Starr Pass Trail Head and has easy access to Gates Pass for Sonora Desert Museum and Tucson Mountain Park. Golf onsite was too difficult for me but nearby Tucson City Courses at Randolph Park where more playable for beginner/intermediate golfer.

Great little place. But if you want a king bed instead of two fulls make sure that you make a request for it. Also there is a big difference in the quality of the rooms since some of them look newly renovated and others do not.

"The casitas" provide the excellent opportunity for a picturesque weekend getaway or staycation — at the expense of the peaceful and serene lives of the full-time locals. During many weekends out of the year, college students rent out a share or two, and thus begins a nonstop 48-hour party characterised by yelling and drunken outbursts that rage on through the nights. It is thanks to this phenomenon that Mondays actually become the least-derided day if the week!

The pictures online displayed luxurious rooms with modern amenities. Will, the room I reserved was not what I reserved. But the studio that I stayed was clean, and that's the only reason that it got a four star. The room is small, TV was LCD but maybe 30" at most. Bathroom was good size but very dated, but clean. Carpet is very warn with spots of baldness and stained. But clean.

This is probably the most awesome place I have ever stayed at. Location was beautiful, customer service is the best and the beds/pillows are great! Will never stay anywhere else when visiting AZ again.

This resort is absolutely fantastic, but the golf course was amazing. There suites are home away from home, not only does it have a spacious bathroom, queen size bed, and tv's in the bedroom and living room, but each has a full kitchen with all cooking essentials to bake, cook, fry, or follow any recipe your hearts desire. I would recommend this place to everyone!

The management does everything they can to assure you of an excellent experience. The golf course is beautiful and challenging. Bring lots of golf balls. They are in the midst of a huge remodeling project which is not visible and will not hamper your vacation.

This place is great! The scenery alone is worth it. The casitas are very comfortable and have everything you need. The pool area is beautiful, and the staff, both at the pool (shout out to Jodie) and inside the restaurant and the main building are top notch. I would definitely recommend this property.

Great little private hotel-like rooms. They all have outdoor access to the rooms and are only one-story, so no one is above you. There was a small microwave and mini-fridge in my room. I was here for a conference at the JW Marriott hotel and there was a morning and evening shuttle to the conference every day, which was really nice.

Really nice resort. The rooms are very comfortable and feel like a home. Staff is friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the Tucson area.

Beautiful scenery, great golf, beautiful resort. We got a 2 bd/2 ba… seems like a combined lock off unit. We love it. Lots of space with a king bed on one side and 2 doubles on the other side. The double side is a bit like a hotel room but the king side is a full suite with full kitchen and huge bathroom. Comfortable living area and patio. A great place for our 2 boys and 4 nights of fun.

I have a nationally registered emotional therapy and support dog. She is legally not viewed as a pet, but as a service animal. I called Starr Pass to let them know I had an ETS dog I was bringing for vacation and asked if I needed to fill out any paperwork. The woman told me they do not count ETS dogs as service animals and that I would not be allowed to bring her. I told them they legally could not deny my ETS dog, but they refused to allow her. I will never stay here again. I can't believe they can get away with that.

Friendly and attentive staff. Spacious rooms. Beautiful scenery. Wish they had jetted tubs.

Llegando al Stars Pass estaba bien oscuro, per al ver las estrellas entendimos por que es un hotel de baja luz. A los niños les encanto la alberca, cancha de tennis, y baloncesto. Mi esposa fuel al gymnasio, pequeño pero tiene lo necesario. La casita, es muy comoda y lo mejor fue tener la maquina de lavar adentro.

Stayed here because of us waiting too long to book a week anywhere else close to San Diego over the holidays. Yuck. Very dissatisfied with the room in itself. Very dated and cheaply decorated. Oh, and to make things worse, the lighting was so dim, we couldn't see very well. It looked like dusk all the time inside the room. Oh, and they gave us one package of coffee for the maker in the room, none for the next two days, then they cleaned the room and gave us two more, only because I asked the maid if she'd be so kind. Finally, the walls are so thin, we could hear the conversations in the rooms next to us. The worst part is that I was stung by a scorpion on our second to our last night. That was horrible! I think it was hiding in the extra blankets I requested. The next day I spoke with the front desk and they offered to have the room sprayed. I asked them to please clean it too. They did. Later that day I was becoming very anxious about sleeping in that bed again. I spoke with Rachel, a manager, and she said there's nothing she could do for me. She suggested sending a maintenance man down to check the room using a black light, but seemed very disinterested with my worries and just looked at me stoned-faced. Let's just say, Rachel is not management material. We check out tomorrow and will never stay here again. PS: the two chairs in the room squeak loudly when sat on and continue to squeak long after you get up. Seriously, try your best not to stay here.

We had only been on the property 30 minutes before we decided to loose the money and check out. We had paid in advance, non-refundable for two nights. We decided to take our losses and moved to the Marriott. Noise — Paper thin motel walls with adjoining room doors that had a 1/2 inch gap underthem allowing every word, light, and sound come in from next door. Bugs — my wife had an earwig crawl up her neck while watching TV in bed. A little while later another earwig was found by the closet. No amenities — No one cared — we flew to Tucson for a couple of days of sitting by the pool, or at least to sit outdoors. We arrived to find out that the pool/fitness center is under a total renovation. No one alerted us at the time of our prepaid reservation or before our arrival. They had every opportunity to contact us by phone or email. They simply did not care.

Great price, very spacious, and comfortable. We bought groceries and used the kitchen, which had everything we needed to make a couple of meals. We also had a very delicious dinner at the restaurant there one night. We used the pool and hot tub both evenings we were there. The staff was great. And we even had a family of quail off our patio to enjoy watching while eating our breakfast! We will stay there again when we return to Tucson, as the location was perfect for us!

Loud rooms, walls are paper thin, dead fly next to the lamp, nice views and area but will never stay here again. Had better sleep in a motel 6

Bad experience! 1. Reservation was made months ago with specific accommodation and fixed rate, and when I got to the front registration desk, they wanted to charge me $30.00 more per night for the room they agree to give me when I made the reservation. I end up taking and unwanted room as I didn't have the 3x30=$90.00 for the extra charge that they never mentioned when I made the reservation. 2. The bedspread had some green spots and didn't look clean. 3. The first night when I was going to sleep, as I lifted the bedspread and sheets, I found long blond hair and short black hair over the mattress sheet surface. I called the front desk, I wanted my bed sheets changed but they replied to me that there was no one at the housekeeping department at that time. 4. During the first night, there were some strong sounds that came front the outside of the building. 5. The next morning, I went to the GYM and they were NO cleans towels at all. 6. Same morning as I comeback from the GYM, I went to the patio to enjoy a drink and the morning fresh air but I was NOT able as my room was close to the outside of the main entrance and people were smoking there, therefore, the smell of the smoke was quite strong right by my room patio. I had clearly requested an NOT smoking area… 7. The room didn't have a small cold refrigerator as most resorts do, they had one which was 40 degree temperature, for sure, I wasn't able to maintain any cold drinks. 8.

We had to issues from the time we checked in. We started getting calls from the front desk at 6:30 in the morning to pay for tbe room. We had taken care of that the night before check in. Mary the front desk called about 4 times. She stated that they dont accept cash at night. So what is why nothing was processed. But informing us of that would of been easier than waking up the whole family. Horrible morning for our sleep in day. So we try the restaurant the night of arrival. Rib eye was on the menu, well done. The waitress came back and they no longer are selling rib eyes. The menu was not updated. So they brought my ribs and my wife's steak out rare. There was blood in the steak and was seeping into the vegetables. One more thing as Mary was calling I asked for a log for tbe fireplace. She said it would be there in ten minutes, then called back and said it was being delayed due to rain not wanting the log to get wet. Then about an hour later Mary called again and stated they were out of logs and she asked the housekeeping manager to bring some in from town, As I went in to settle their issues I asked about the log again. Mary said now that she was waiting for the manager to bring some. She would keep me posted. A few hours later the front desk manager called and said there are not logs to be found, they searched tucson. Really? Other notes, horrible lighting overall. Cant find anything streets, room numbers, sidewalks.

Just returned from a 5 night stay for a family reunion. We occupied 6 rooms and had a truly lovely stay. Staff was very attentive. The clubhouse was so convenient for a quick meal. Everything was very comfortable and clean. We were very pleased with the kitchen and large bathroom. Only con was the lack of in-room Wi-Fi.

The wife and I just left the Starr Pass Resort from a quick one day get away, and I was very upset. We arrive at 7:30pm and by 7:50pm we discover our hot water knob won't turn. We call the front desk and they send a maintenance man to our room. While waiting for him to come I had to kill at least 4 different weird bugs crawling around by the bed. Now it's 10:15pm and the maintenance man is still in our room so now our romantic get away has now been interrupted by a third party for over 2hrs. I need to use the restroom but can't because he is in the restroom, never telling us it is going to take a long period of time. We finally say enough is enough and call front desk again. Don't get me wrong, the whole staff was very friendly the whole time but we have now been very inconvenienced, so they say they will move us to a room on another floor, that's it. We tell them that would of been nice 2 hours ago but now that's not acceptable. They then tell my wife they will move us to a room a few doors down and give us $100 credit and a spa treatment and food down in the lobby area. We say that's fine. When we go to check out they did credit us $100, but then said that was to be used for the spa and food not in addition to the food and spa. So us personally from our experience will never visit them again, but will on a regular go to The Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain, that is a resort to remember.

Beautiful views from every veranda greet guests of this Tucson gem. If golf is your game, the course winding along the border of this resort is sure to please. Along with ample wildlife, scenic green spaces and excellent golf, there is a great pool blessed with plenty of sun and even a fine restaurant to thrill sophisticated palates.
