Reviews of Best Western InnSuites Tucson Foothills Hotel & Suites 2*
Stayed 3 nights. I found my room exceptionally comfortable. My room came equipped with mini kitchen, and king-size bed. Reasonable rates. Breakfast was a little above average. In the evening there is a Happy Hour that provides snacks and drinks (beer and wine) at no additional cost. PJ's Cafe makes decent food, burgers, fish and chips, salads and the like. The Cafe kept me from walking a half mile and better to eat. My only gripe is the TV channel selection is pretty weak. I would definitely stay here again.
I will stay here & only here whenever I’m in the area. The staff is nice & friendly. The amenities are amazing: free breakfast with LOTS of choices, social hour with 2 free drinks (! ) of soda, wine or beer PLUS popcorn and chili cheese nachos, and a noon checkout! Beautiful pool & hot tub area and also a beautiful second floor open air patio area. Just gorgeous and lovely and so comfortable. The room was superb as well. Comfortable bed, microwave & fridge, coffeemaker, great shower with some good-smelling soap & shampoo! LOVED this place! And it didn’t break the bank AT ALL!
I was pleased with our stay at this hotel. The room was nice and clean and the staff was friendly. Their free breakfast was great and had a good selection. We transferred from a different hotel and I was glad we did. I would recommend staying at this hotel.
We do not recommend this dated hotel but especially very poorly designed.
The soundbox effect of the courtyard, see the old and therefore very noisy air conditioners, on which all the rooms look is completely prohibitive for guests wishing to be able to get some fresh air. It is therefore out of the question to open the windows of the rooms to ventilate for example without putting Kiès balls.
The small pool is also not only much smaller than it appeared in the photos but not very engaging both because of the noise of air conditioners that create a climate not conducive to relaxation and water that inspires little confidence.
The breakfast room is unwelcoming due to its questionable cleanliness. See the ground littered with scrambled eggs and various traces.
Finally, if you get to the situation on the edge of a major thoroughfare, in a commercial area because of the hotel rates, the exteriors of the hotel are not very engaging. Pallets, dumpsters and rolls of old flooring in the parking lot made us want to turn back before we even discovered the room, the courtyard and the pool.
In short, this is absolutely not a hotel for holidaymakers. Even with this budget, we can find it more pleasant.
The room was clearly renovated with new paint, a nice bed and blinds. But, there are obvious stains, especially on the curtains, and there's a huge whole where it looks like a fridge used to be. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were nice, and the curtains did a fair job of keeping light out. I'm unsure of whether or not people can see through though as the curtains seem pretty sheer, and the darker curtains are simply decorative. The shower had poor water pressure leading to uncomfortable showers where you're unsure of whether or not you are clean. The biggest shock though was that this property is outdoor and courtyard rooms do not face any parking. I've only stayed at about two other best westerns outdoors and can't recommend the experience. It just doesn't feel luxurious. Additionally, the front desk may not be too attentive and requires that you pay a deposit even after booking and check in. All being said, it's probably not bad if you are passing through, but I didn't care for it on my longer trip.
Best Western was an oasis after a hot summer drive. Clean room, AC just right and quiet place to rest. Mariam at the front desk was super friendly and made us feel instantly at home! The hotel is also near a healthy grocery store! This is the perfect place to stay for any band on tour in Tucson!
Great relaxing stay… complimentary breakfast, 2 free free drinks a day at the bar, gym, views of the foothills and staff was courteous and friendly… what else can you ask for. My suite was plush and comfy… and an added bonus, a kitchenette, wet bar, refrigerator and microwave. They leave you a bottle of water everyday which was nice touch! I definitely will come back!
This is a super sweet Best Western; and while the name doesn’t denote it as a plus, I’d say it is a BW++ and then some. Super fast and friendly check in from well-staffed front desk. Plenty of room side parking for larger vehicles. I really like the layout of this hotel especially the way the swimming pool and restaurant are in the center courtyard area and the hotel rooms surround the perimeter. It’s also nice to see a hotel swimming pool with a nine foot section. I dig the multiple sunbathing areas and tennis court/basketball goal as well. Plenty of dining options in walking distance, but the complimentary hot breakfast and dinner social was enough sustenance to get me through the day. This is a really sharp Best Western; probably the nicest I’ve ever been to. Staying here was a great experience and I definitely would stay here again when touring through Arizona.
Overall this hotel was a much better experience than I anticipated. The exterior looked old and outdated. However, the rooms were completely redone, modern, comfortable beds, with coffee maker, micro and fridge. I appreciated the bottle water left in rooms. Breakfast was the best complimentary breakfast I have ever had in a hotel with tons of variety and super clean and continuously restocked. I didn't learn until my third night however that there was also a complimentary happy hour with snacks and a couple of drinks included. I will consider looking at staying at a Best Western the next time I travel because I think the value was very good for the price.
Our client, touring comedian James Kellner, recently stayed here after a performance in Tucson and loved the property! The rooms were perfect sized suites that really make you feel at home, and they're very clean and quiet. There's a free breakfast in the morning as well as a fitness center and a convenience store on-site, which makes getting back on the road super easy the next day! Thank you for your great hospitality and we're looking forward to staying with you again!
My experience was amazing, from beginning to end. The cost of a room for three people (on a Friday, no less) was quite decent. We had requested a first-floor room for my mother's sake, and a staff member was easily able to help. The bedsheets seemed to be freshly laundered when we arrived. Breakfast included a wide array of options, including cereal, waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausages, and more. We were unable to attend the evening social hour with complimentary drinks, but it sounded unique enough. The only real complaint we had was that the toilet seat had been recently cleaned but not dried, much to my mother's surprise. All in all, though, I would gladly stay at this Best Western again.
Clean hotel. The rooms around the pool area are bit noisy. Not very sound resistant. The breakfast area is nice but crowded so get there early. The staff was very friendly. We did enjoy our stay. If you have children, they will enjoy the pool. There is a social get together every night at the pool area. There is also a bar at the pool as well. The location is convenient for many area attractions.
It should be mentioned in advance that this tour is our 15th-3 week trip to the southwest of the USA. The hotel in itself is nice, but not recommended. Pool and room so far OK. Staff very nice. But not at all is the small breakfast room where you have to have breakfast quickly in the morning. So small for so many guests is not at all. This has been the worst after 1ü years of USA trips. In addition there were children in a number and connected with Lärem, which was at the pool no chance to lie down or even rest. I wanted to document the whole drama only with photos but leave it now with this text to not somehow show pictures with faces. The pool noise retreated 2 days until evening 22:00 pm. We stayed 3 nights from 12.04-15.04.2018. Despite BW members, we are now skeptical. Such a disappointment and escape from holiday joy at this price is naughty. Here a hotel tour has to intervene in time.
Super comfortable… Super recommended!
My stay at this Best Western was fantastic. I was pleased with the amount of space as well as the level of comfort in our room. Our bathroom was well stocked with towels and toiletries, and there were plenty of outlets for our electronic devices. The pool and hot tub were very relaxing and the complimentry breakfast was delicious. The hotel is located around a many restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling or staying in this area.
Hotel with excellent facilities, friendly staff and hot breakfast of very good quality, the room cleaning staff is very unfriendly. But however if they do their job Well.
Nice place to stay. Bed was comfortable. Only wish the price was about 15.00 cheaper. Also wish they offered fresh cooked eggs or omelets for breakfast. Location was good. Close enough to Dr. Appt and restaurants. Would stay there again. Bobby.
Very average hotel. Room is semi updated. But if you're going to update, why not do it all the way? Noisy by the pool in the afternoon due to workers pounding and sawing. Also housekeeping in our room wasn't complete until after 3:00. During booking process I requested extra blankets and pillows, which were not in the room when we arrived. Had to request a second time. Breakfast is average for this type of hotel. Space for breakfast is very small. I wouldn't stay here again.
Just words! After having a positive experience at the Best Western Tucson Airport my husband and I took risk staying at another hotel from the Best Western brand. Horrible experience the toilettes were incomplete and I had to run to the store if we wanted to conditioner our hair. Per managements request we called down to let them know about the problem including unacceptable degrees of professionalism, bordering on being “antagonistic”. The hotel rooms were very dark. The hotel room walls were never properly patched when the furnishings were upgraded and had exposed holes from what I assume were from the anchors of the previous head boards due to the size. Hotel staff weren’t in uniform and their street clothes were a bit thuggish. The wall paper in the rooms had been damaged from what looked to be water damage. Not my idea on how to save on the bottom line in the highly competitive hospitality industry. I will continue staying at hotels of this brand if nothing else is available however I personally like my hotels to offer consistency.
I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 for a stellar breakfast. Even if it felt like I was dining in a nursing home given the sheer amount of snowbirds in there. I have a dog and was given a pet room which was smack dab in the center of some block rather than being closer to the dog bathroom. That was stupid. The carpeting is old, worn, and full of visible stains. It is nasty. Thankfully when I stripped the bed to check I did not find any dismembered body parts under the mattress. The vanity is broken and peeling. Light bulbs are out and need to be replaced. The AC is fantastic, but takes a really long time to get down to the desired temp. The hotel itself is built oddly. The lobby is a separate building from the rooms and each block of rooms is separate from each other and their little cafe, which is also a separate building. Whoever designed this was a moron. There is no rhyme or reason to this place. I never did find handicap access either because it is all stairs everywhere. No elevator to the upper level unless that is housed in a separate building. The door and window are so loose in their frames that you hear every little sound from a kid shouting to people setting off their own car alarms and shutting car doors. The door frame also let's in a lot of light because it is skewed. You also hear all the road traffic. People slam doors a lot here too because they rub on the frame.
Overall we were quite happy with our stay here. We had a room overlooking the pool area. Room was quiet and clean. Breakfast was good — we were there when a tour group hit the breakfast room so it was super crowded but not that big of a deal. Some more attention to detail on the outside of the property would be helpful — the outside near the lobby was very nicely landscaped. There were a lot of landscape rocks in some of the parking areas creating trip hazards. Overall a good value.
The room was clean, the people at the desk were nice and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was fine. However, the room had no closet. I've never been to a hotel, even the tiniest room in the cheapest hotel, without a closet. No hairdryer. I heard someone ask for one at the main desk, so they have them, but they don't keep them in the room. I find that bizarre. The toilet in the room made a 3-4 minute squealing noise after each flush. We asked to have it fixed, and it no longer made the noise after a flush. It randomly made the noise every hour or so, all night long. I was awakened several times throughout the night. The only way to stop it was to flush the toilet. We're likely never coming back to Tucson again, but if we do we will not be staying here.
Our client, touring comedian Johnathan Gregory, recently stayed here after a performance in Tucson and loved the property!
It is very elegant and comfortable. Located in an accessible place. For us vacationers. Good attention. Excellent rooms. Recommended Perfect. Best regards.
I really liked so much this hotel. It's clean and it's very comfortable to spend several days.
Its OK as long as you get a good rate. Double queen room had TWO fridges, microwave and coffee maker. Not very soundproof. Both ice machines had no ice. Outdoor hot tub was nice and hot. Reasonable hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, potato and meat. Can print in the lobby.
Good service. Clean and quiet place. Good breakfast and social time.
Clean, comfortable, and affordable. I was looking for a room with full amenities (including refrigerator and microwave) that was close to the Tucson Marathon events. This hotel was more than half the cost of the official race hotel but just as close to everywhere I needed to be for the race. I definitely recommend this hotel1
The room was clean and comfortable. This is an older establishment and the door needed a little help in closing completely but presented no security issues. We especially appreciate the cafe' atmosphere at breakfast and the pleasant helpfulness of all the staff we encountered. The rates are very acceptable for retirees, like myself, on fixed income.
Excellent experience our stay in this hotel, really recomeindo.
Staff is friendly. Location is good. The room is simple. I had three refrigerators. The microwave was a pleasant surprise. Would stay there again.
Great late night staff! We were welcomed with super friendly attendants! The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were spotless! Would recommend the in room coffee as well! Loved the fast Wi-Fi!
Would not recommend this place! We found hair in the bed and in the sink. We had to ask them to come and change sheets. We also found a rubber glove in one of the coffee cups in the room along with some type of black dust on top of bedspread. The room was very worn and in bad shape and did not look like pics. Advertising said refurbished rooms this was not a refurbished room. Prior to this we were given our room number and key card we went to the room and when we opened the door people were in the bed and hollered at us, of course we were startled and apologized and closed door. We went back to front desk and the clerk was dealing with an upset customer who was very upset not sure about what. We then told her our problem she goes what room and then called the room and asked who they were and she goes oh ok. She apologized and gave us another room that obviously had not been cleaned properly. Not my kind of hotel and pics on website are very deceiving!
Staff at this hotel go above and beyond to insure your stay is comfortable. Renovation on the lounge, PJ's are impressive and the free breakfast is always tasty and plentiful. We love this site and it's the first place we check for availability when in Tucson! You won't go wrong staying here!
I cannot say enough good about this hotel! The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful (suggesting places to eat for dinner in Tucson). The room was gigantic, but still cozy! It was a suite, so I loved how private the bedroom was from the living room and kitchen (which, in addition to a refrigerator and microwave, also had a stove). The pool was really nice, and the location was perfect! It was so nice to be within a mile of pretty much every chain eating establishment (in addition to some local gems), a mall, and Target. Great for picking up odds and ends I forgot to pack with me on my trip! Despite being quite large, the hotel is also really quiet, which I thoroughly enjoyed. So if you're staying in the Tucson area, I highly recommend staying at the Best Western.
My husband and I stayed there last night. The room was nice enough but for a "GREEN" hotel, we had an inch to an inch and a half gap between the door jam and the door. We were worried that something might get in, so we put a towel down in front of the door. The problem was that they put is next to a room that was labeled boiler room, closet. Shortly after we had gotten in the room we heard this loud rumbling engine like noise. It was coming from the room next to us and it was extra loud because of the noise that came from under the door and through the wall. I called the office and asked the girl that answered, she assured me they it wouldn't make that noise in the middle of the night. Long story short the nose woke is up several times in the night. We would have gladly changed rooms if we could have gotten a good night sleep. I told the manager when we checked out and he would have given us another room (they were not full) had be known. If you book a room there, book through Best Western, not through booking, etc. (cause they can't refund or help you) and don't book anywhere near room 147, you won't sleep.
We got a room late last minute. They kindly left all fragrances out when cleaning. They have a separate bedroom. A kitchen. It was perfect for us. It's not the newest or latest. But nice clean room and great service, and reasonable price. Recommend if that's what you're looking for.
Excellent service, clean and updated room, refrigerator and microwave in the room. Outside needs some upkeep and sidwalks slippery when wet. Bed was very comfortable. Swimming pool and hot tub. Complementary breakfast. Happy hour drinks and snacks every night. Budget friendly. Would definitely stay there again.
This place was great. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was modern and clean. The grounds are well maintained and it's located in a safe neighborhood. Shopping spots are real close by and the ac is ice cold. I'll definitely be back.
This hotel was most pleasant. I highly recommend it. Breakfast was one of the best tasting I've had in hotels, not a great variety, but not boring. Rooms were clean and comfortable. When they complete the upgrade of the lounge/bar, the package will be complete.
The rooms are very clean and the suite we stayed in had a Jacuzzi in the bathroom which the kids had a blast in. Filled it with bubbles, wore bathing suits and stayed in for hours. I really like how the check out time is 12… it seems every place I've stayed in recently had a check out time of 11. Pretty good continental breakfast in morning.
What a pleasant surprise. The exterior is dated but the beds, linens and overall room layout and design works! It's nice to have a comfortable place to sleep, spread-out and even work when needed. We appreciated the fridge, microwane, free Wi-Fi, and other basic amenities. The pool and jacuzzi was relaxing. Finally, the breakfast was one of the best for a free breakfast buffet. Clean, freshly cooked items and a good assortment. We'd stay again.
Great place to be when you are traveling, and the free breakfast is great. The front desk are really nice people and they are there to help you. This hotel has everything to get you up and running in the morning.
I've stayed at other Best Western hotels, but this one was by far one of the best. The room, breakfast, social hour, and my interactions with all staff members were a positive experience. Megyn at the front desk even went out of her way to assign me to a suite that was newly remodeled with a comfortable bed. Very convenient location for shopping and restaurants.
We stayed here in a 2 bedroom suite which is really a 1 bedroom with a king bed and a living room with a sleeper sofa. The sink to wash your hands is outside of the bathroom and in the bedroom. The free breakfast was one of the worst I've seen. The food looked nasty and the person working it was on his phone texting and playing loud rock music the whole time. Everything ran out by 8:30 and he had to go look for waffle mix. I will never stay here again. The price is cheap but you get what you pay for.
I've never thought of Best Western as a very prestigious name in the hotel world but this location has raised the bar. This is such an affordable with the benefits of an upscale resort. Lots of amenities, complimentary happy hour and full hot breakfast just to name a few. I hope to stay here again soon thank you.
I have had nothing but superb service from this establishment. From the free breakfast to free happy hour drinks, not to mention a clean pool and hot tub, I would have to say that they are the "Best in the West"
I liked this hotel. The room was clean and quiet with comfortable beds and lots of pillows. They offer a variety of amenities like an outdoor pool and laundry facilities. There is a free breakfast and a happy hour with complimentary snacks. It is very convenient as it is about 10 minutes to downtown and 10 minutes to the university of Arizona, so whatever brings you to Tucson, this is your hotel. I'll definitely stay here again.
Really don't understand the 1 star reviews. This is a nice, clean, super affordable hotel. Our room was large, tidy, modern, and comfortable. We had a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. George at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and our check in was quick. The area was safe and quiet. We had zero complaints and will definitely stay again.
Checked in and was told that my room didnt come with 2 bathrooms as advertised on company website. Toilet and shower are completely separate from sink in different rooms which can be inconvenient when one goes to bathroom to wash hands. Room is clean but because of false information on website I rate a 2
This hotel gets a ZERO rating. Stay at the Candlewood Suites instead. Booked through Priceline based upon the 3 star rating but this is by no means a 3 star hotel. It is old and smells old, bad plumbing and management. When complained about hotel and asked to change was told would be fully refunded for the days that weren't used and upon returning home to find no refund hotel is now refusing the refund. Worst customer service ever experienced.
Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Grounds and rooms could be cleaner. Smoke detector dangling from wires. Exterior painting in progress (good thing). Hot water reversed in shower. Details!
Front desk staff so helpful. Had business to attend to during my stay and they were more than accommodating.
Bed was well made every morning by the staff, however the room ALWAYS smelled like cigarette smoke. This was a non-smoking hotel room too! Most of these rooms are swamp-cooled too. When my dad spent the night there he kept claiming to feel itchy all over his arms and stomach after sleeping on the bed/laying on the couch. I also sat on the couch and felt so itchy all day I had to shower to get rid of the itchiness. The breakfast in the morning is good. Overall experience from my dad's point of view and mine is that the hotel is terrible. I will never let him stay there again.
My stay was awful. Do NOT go here. First off looking at the pictures that r posted are very decieving. I wish I would have known before I wasted my money. I call and ask when check out is I get told 2:00pm & then I get there and the girl tells me she has no clue what I'm talking about. The girls were very rude at the desk. There was a house keeping girl who was VERY pleasant and helpful. They try to push u out the very next day. I wanted to enjoy the pool for a little bit before I had to get back on the road. They locked me out of the room made it to where the key didnt work so I had to get house keeping staff. The front desk is across the parking lot. So if u need anything or to ask questions you literally have to walk across the lot. Its not in the same building like a normal hotel. 6:30 am the phone in the room kept ringing like I was being crank called so I had to unplugg the phone. The breakfast was lousy. When your spending $70 dollars you shouldnt get treated like crap, crappy breakfast, crank calls & be pushed out of the building. You should be able to enjoy your stay & leave with a smile. This experience left me & my boy friend pissed & never wanting to go back. So take it from me save ur money & do NOT go here!
Full breakfast, responsive front desk (minus one overwhelmed employee at check-in), and average non trashy fellow patrons. Btw 5-6:30 1 free beer/pop/wine 3 stars.
My five stars is only for GEORGE at the front dest. This guy took such great care of me! Thank you so much for all of your help.
On Sunday 05/17/15 we arrived to check in at about 10:40 pm. The male working at the reception was very rude. Because he said that they changed shifts at 11:00 pm he needed to count the cash and that we needed to wait 20 minutes for the other person to come in. We waited more than 30 minutes and we finally left at 11:15 to go to another Best Western Royal Sun close by on North Stone Ave. Where all of the personnel were very nice.
Everything staff service clean rooms.
My wife and I have been staying here for the past 5 days. Based on some bad reviews we were a little anxious before check in. All of our fears were set aside upon entering our room. The room was clean and well appointed. Soft towels and linens in plentiful number meant we did need to call down for extras. The bedding was pristine white, not a myriad of colors like most hotels that hide all manner of disgusting stains. Then we have the staff. Every member of the staff was extremely helpful, courteous, and accommodating. The breakfast was very good, and plentiful. As an added bonus there is a social gathering every evening with beer, wine and mixed drinks available. Thank you Best western foothills for being a home away from home on our vacation. We will be back.
Do not stay here. This is a joke. Checked in and asked for a double room. I get a bed and a pull out couch. Then I got back thinking it was a mistake and she gives me a different room. It's the same thing in a different room. Do not stay here.
I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in July 2014. The following adjectives describe the status of the hotel: dirty, smelly, garbage everywhere, (garbage was placed near my room on a daily basis by staff at PJ Cafe, according to the rude manager, this was standard procedure for disposal of trash awaiting pickup later in the day), (old discarded sofas, mattresses, were piled near the dumpster, throughout my entire stay). Black ring around pool/found a dead mouse in my room, had to deal with a lot of negative feedback once again from Mgr. When I requested a "bed bug" mattress pad as this hotel is known for having these "creatures" as I eventually found out. The manager, never apologized for any of the problems I along with a relative had to endure, who by the way left after only 3 days of what was to be a three week stay. Corporate officials response was to send me a lousy certificate for a "free" night stay. I am sending it back to them and intend to file further complaints with other concerned entities.
Awesome just what I needed.
Loved staying here. The staff is super friendly.
This is a wonderful hotel. Nice location with shopping across the street, nice people and good rates. The room was excellent.
Asked for 2 cots in the morning. After asking once in late afternoon and once in the early evening, they delivered one cot because they were out of cots. The reason we needed two was because the fold out couch was so poor we could not sleep on it. The mattress of the couch had nothing in it and we had to sleep on the wires with cloth over it. I talked to the desk the next morning. I am very disappointed in our stay. The internet connections was very poor and we were unable to use the wyfi. The phone was barely usable as well.
Xcelente hotel, rich breakfast.

Great service and a great hotel! The rooms were spacious, and housed two comfortable beds and a nice bathroom and shower. The laundry room was convenient and easy to find as well. The dining area had a really nice outdoor patio next to it, and the outdoor pool was the icing on the cake. The hotel is conveniently located near plenty of stores and restaurants, and really close to downtown Tucson. 10/10 on all points!
