Stone Lizard Lodge proved to be just as charming as I had hoped it would be! Our group of five senior ladies from the Deep South found it to meet our needs perfectly! The beds were wonderful! The delicious breakfast and courtyard got us off to a great start for exploring! Already planning a family reunion with the Stone Lizard Lodge serving as our base camp!

We stayed there last night, a friendly, clean, quaint place. Very comfortable accommodations. The garden area is beautiful with plenty of seating for friends, old and new! Breakfast was amazing. We've been traveling across the country on our motorcycles, this is by far my favorite overnight stop. Thank you!

This was a nice surprise. Nicely redone motel. Very clean, excellent King size beds and home made continental breakfast that you can eat out back on their patio. Bathrooms a bit small but really folks when traveling how big of a bathroom do you need? The owner did all of the metalwork and it is impressive. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful property. Really full of cozy touches like the homemade breakfast items and the beautiful garden/seating area in the back. If I ever find myself back in this part of the world, I would definitely stay again.

Cute, quaint, retro hotel with southwestern theme. Room was comfortable and clean. Kathy’s Garden is a perfectly peaceful place to end a long day of travel. Beautiful setting with lots of plants and bird… and a firepit for the evening. Breakfast includes yummy, fresh homemade pastries. Craig is very pleasant and helpful knowing the region’s attractions. Recommend a stay in this motel with lots of character.

Wonderful place to stay. I came for a weekend conference. The cinnamon roles and fresh baked stuffed pastries are AMAZING. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Rooms are homely comfortable feeling. We could hear the neighbors TVs most nights but the room fan muffled that quickly. Attractive place as we met and saw many travelers and the dining room is wonderful to meet and chat with others. HIGHLY recommend!

Luved the homeyness here. Flowers and green grass. They offer a nice buffet breakfast and owners are most pleasant. Very low key… Cute little town. Lovely people. Unfortunately our tub backed up with what appeared to be sewer drainage and was very upsetting to say the least. The owners took care of but sadly it did ruin our taste.

Just completed a 4 day stay here while visiting family in the local area for the holidays. Enjoyed the retro look and feel. Comfortable beds/rooms. Bathrooms could use a little updating/maintenance, however owners have been making consistent improvements to the facilities over the past 3 years. Breakfast buffet with the whole wheat cinnamon rolls is wonderful. Will definitely stay here again.

WE JUST LOVE THIS PLACE! Great friendly, very helpful staff and owners. Homemade hot pockets and the muffins are excellent. Raspberry and orange muffins WOW! Kathy cooks amazing breakfast and Craig will send you on an adventure. All after a great nights rest on some comfortable beds. Could ask for more.

Kewl modernized 50' s hotel with an amazing garden atea.

I loved our stay here. Kathy and Craig are the best! They take such good care of their guests. All the touches of a homey, warm bed and breakfast — by the way, I sincerely think Kathy could open up a restaurant. The homemade breakfast is the absolute best I have ever had. The room set up was PERFECT for my family (family of 3 — one queen, one twin). We had such a lovely time. I hope everyone gets a chance to stay here.

This place is too nice for you. The environment and breakfast are so pleasant and affordable we drove 50 miles out of the way and not disappointed.

The homemade breakfast pastries were a treat. The grounds are well maintained and we visited while there were fresh cherries on the cherry tree outside the room door. The rooms are quaint and need updates.

OMG this place is awesome! Comfortable room with everything you need. It makes you feel like home. You park in front of your room. Beautiful garden in back to relax from a hard days drive. Awesome hot breakfast, with juice's, pastrys, coffee, this morning they had a pastry filled with eggs, tomatoes, ham, and cheese. So good. Cherries picked from their own tree, watermelon. I would recommend this place to everyone. So cozy. We will be back.

Nice, clean rooms, reasonable prices, but the breakfast was AMAZING. Homemade apple strudel, and hot pockets, layered like croissants, on the day we were there. And Kathy's Garden was a shady and relaxing place to eat our breakfast.

Stayed in family condo with 4 others and it was roomy! Fully stocked kitchen and more than enough towels for use in the bathroom. Awesome Wi-Fi given the area. One and a half baths, shower did not have a lot of water pressure. There was no AC either. Breakfast was homemade and delicious. Homemade ham, egg, cheese, and green Chile hot pockets, giant cinnamon rolls, and muffins. The place may look a little divey from the outside, but you can tell it is family owned and run with love. Definitely more here than meets the eye.

Stayed there last night. It is a older place, but very well maintained. Our queen room also had a twin bed in it. There was a mini-fridge and micowave. Direct TV and a small dining table with 2 chairs. They got extra points with my wife since she prefers extra pillows. In total between the 2 bed and spare pillows in the room she had access to 8 pillows (9 in room but I needed 1). There were also 2 extra blankets. I would say 3 people would be comfortable, but 4 a little criwded. The area is very quiet I did not hear a thing outside the room. We read reviews on different sites before booking. I concur with some other reviews, the breakfast is fantastic. There were fresh cinnamon rolls (softball sized), delicious apricot pastries, and my favorite breakfast pastry sandwhiches. (Puff pasty stuffed with egg, ham, tomato, and cheese. ) There was also cereal, bagels, bread and banannas. In other reviews people said there was no place to eat breakfast. They have turned another room onto a place to have breakfast. You can see the owners care about the place and are trying their best with what they have. It is apparent they read reviews and do their best to address issues. They lost a star because of these things. First The bathroom, it looks like it is from the 50's, well maintained. However, the tile floor is freezing to bare feet. (Not much can be done here, a rug would be more scary.

The staff was friendly and accommodating The breakfast was fresh and tasty. They had some homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, and homemade hot pockets with eggs and ham as well as yogurt, fruit, bagels, some cereal choices, juice coffee and tea. The only downside was that the beds in our room weren't very comfortable.

This was a great stay. The rooms where way nice. The TV was a little small, but had a lot of chanels to watch. The thing that stood out the most was the breakfast. They had fresh homemade items like straight from the oven cinnamon rolls and great tasting breakfast pastry's with eggs, ham and vegetables. If I'm in Blanding again I'll be staying at the Stone Lizard Lodging.

We had a great stay. Room was quite comfortable with fridge, microwave and flat screen, though there is so much to see around this area don't know when you would watch TV :) Complimentary Breakfast was wonderful, Homemade cinnamon rolls, hot pockets, fresh bread, yogurt, juices, coffee and more. A nice little social gathering with the owner there to answer questions about the area. Very nice garden space in the back, with local flavor. Lots of Rock Art and ancient dwellings within an easy drive.

Good beds. Good Wi-Fi. Friendly staff. Great breakfast — homemade hot breakfast and baked goods. They're doing a lot of new landscaping and putting in a pretty garden/ waterfall area in the back. Looks like it'll turn out great. It's an older building, but the above mentioned, in my opinion, makes it a good place to stay.

Craig and Kathy are exceptional innkeepers, welcoming wary travelers to their inn, providing extensive local knowledge and recommendations, responding to needs, and creating a warm, welcoming and relaxing inn. Five of us used Blanding as a basecamp to access the Grand Gulch area where we backpacked for 7 nights. The Executive Room at Stone Lizard Lodging was perfect for our needs of sorting camping gear. Additionally, the kitchen was of professional grade and well stocked, allowing us to cook our own meals upon our return. Most importantly, though, was the breakfast that was provided: cinnamon buns, eggs in pastry, and banana bread. All homemade. This motel has easily become and inn under the caring keeping of Craig and Kathy.

Just spent 2 nights at Stone Lizard Lodge (November, 2014). It was $69/night for a room with two queen beds. The room was very clean and had nice towels and washcloths. The beds were comfortable. The heater worked well and it also had a cute little fake fireplace that gave off a little heat. The shower was good. The bathroom door opened into the bathroom and couldn't open fully because it hit the sink — so that was a little funky (but who cares when you have such a nice room). It was stone quiet. The added bonus was the owner (Craig). He was very nice and extremely helpful with information about the area. Breakfast was in the office (yogurt, bananas, eggs in a pastry, cereal and I'm sure there were other things too). Oh yea, good coffee (Seattle's Best). Will absolutely stay there again. Sam and Craig.

Previous ratings are too high. This is an old place and OK. Nothing to write home about. Don't expect a Holiday Inn or anything like that. This place does not rate 4.6/5.0.

We were an English party of 6 staying at Stone Lizard, 2 of whom have lived in the States for nearly 3 year and the other 4 have visited and travelled America. We all agreed this was the best motel we had ever experienced. Clean, comfortable and nothing too much trouble for the people we spoke to. As for the home grown and cooked items included within the price for breakfast it couldn't have been more wonderful. Would recommend this to any party (older, with children etc), fantastic value for money and wouldn't hesitate to return if in the area. Thank you for a fabulous stay and the location convenient for all we wanted to see.

Our family attended a funeral in Blanding Utah this week. We had many rooms at the Stone Lizard. When I called for reservations and mentioned we were coming for my 92 year old father's funeral the young lady on the phone was so sincerely sympathetic I was touched. Because some of my extended family also had many rooms there we got to see almost all of them. The executive suite was very very NICE! What a charming place it was. My daughter called it AMAZING. It was very very clean and I loved how homey it was. All of the people who run it are very pleasant. I loved sitting under the trees in their patio chairs and just enjoying the small town feel. I have stayed in the typical cookie cutter hotels there before not realizing what a quiet little treasure this place was. It is off to itself yet really close to main street and all the conveniences. We loved it.

I was stranded alone several miles from Blanding and the Stone Lizard Lodge. Upon my arrival I was welcomed and well taken care of by all staff. The manager was very helpful and friendly and the accommodations were very clean and comfortable. They all participated in helping me to get back on the road and headed home. Thank you all for your selfless acts of kindness and I would recommend your motel very highly to all. Thank you again for all of your hospitality.

We have stayed here several times passing thru between Arizona and Denver. Rooms are very comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Skip the chains in town. Highly recommend.
