Best kept secret, the cabins at Summit Lake Lodge. The service was great, friendly staff, good food and drinks, unbelievable scenery, and the most comfy bed ever. Definitely would stay again!

We have lived here our entire lives and never been here! We stayed in 2 different cabins and both were the best “hotel” we’ve stayed in! Brand new everything, super nice beds, incredibly nice people! Free use of the canoes and kayaks! We have already booked another stay! For the month of July locals get $100 discount! Must see!

Great food, friendly and helpful staff, quiet and calming place.

Our family just left Summit Lake Lodge after a wonderful 5 night stay. For my wife and myself this was the our second stay at Summit Lake. The Arnoldy’s and their family and staff are incredible. We could not have asked for greater hospitality. I worked with June for more than 6 months planning our stay and all of our excursions. She was terrific to work with. Love, love Summit Lake Lodge.

Stopped for lunch, excellent special “Grilled Chicken Sandwich” w/side salad. Bacon Jam was terrific, one of the best I’ve had. Salad had “plate lockable” dressing, we found ourselves sopping up some with our sandwiches!

Clean quite cabins, awesome staff, and the best food south of anchorage.

Enjoyed their hospitality, the cabins give you the ultimate Alaskan rugged experience, but with all the luxurious amenities we are accustomed. I look forward to spending a weekend in this great place.

Can't say enough about this place. Stayed in a "lakeview" cabin and LOVED the experience. The cabin is huge and extremely cozy. The owners are detail oriented and we loved each appointment, from the ducks on the mirrors to the electricity socket covers! Such soft towels and the bed… wow! The best sleep we had in Alaska. Figured out how to get the heater/fireplace started (switch by the bed) so the cabin felt amazing and warm. Free breakfast from 8-10, and not just muffins and butter! They present you with an entire menu of omelets and scrambles, and your choice of drink. Really friendly guy helped us check in and out, but his wife (? ) wasn't so friendly and got some weird vibes from her. Wish we could have stayed here longer.

Good location but "lodge" is not well designed. Shower room hasn't any hooks to hang clothing or a bath robe. No towel bar to hang damp used towels. Area is not designed for older traveller — no grab bar. Toilet area is dark because the light cover is too frosted. Design of furniture is very clunky & heavy. Housekeeping staff very friendly & efficient. Entire property lacks enough or informative signage. Check in is in the restaurant. Trails aren't marked and only goes as far as the Chugach NF camp grounds.

I was ready for this place to be pretentious, but surprise, not at all! Lots of halibut on the menu for reasonable prices. Also, one of the faster services I've received. The food won't leave you speechless, but happy and full. If you find yourself out on the Kenai peninsula and want a decent meal, stop on in.

The good: really really cool wood cabin right next to Lake Summit! I am going to say that this is a hidden gem in north Seward area. Everything inside the cabin reflected quality and comfort. We had a lake front view and it was beautiful. If I didn’t have a packed itinerary in Alaska, I can see myself just staying at this property for a few days! The bad: the shower was not very good, quite cold and the water from the shower head was so weak. The service in the breakfast restaurant could be better. None of the waiters were smiling, not sure if they want to work here.

Best Vacation Ever! My husband and I spent 3 full days of fishing! Best part is all of it was set up by the lodge! We didn't have to find charters or schedule anything! It was all done for us! The cabins are beautiful, decorated perfectly, and very comfy! The food was delicious and the hosts and wait staff were excellent! The lodge is in such a good location, it made it so easy to get to all the activities we wanted to do! I would highly recommend Summit Lake Lodge to anyone!

A sight for sore eyes… ICE CREAM! The Summit Lake Lodge is more than an overnight stay; it is an ice cream, pie, and pizza stop tradition. Bring cash with you and an empty stomach, because you'll find some fantastic food here. Inside you'll find a gift shop as well as tables or you could eat outside on a sunny day. Grab an ice cream and walk down to Summit Lake for a relaxing rest and beautiful view. If you're lucky a plane will land on the water right in front of you!

No take out. My only issue. Otherwise beautiful spot.

Stopped in as a pit stop en route from Seward to Anchorage. A nice little place, and great for a quick stop.

We had a great stay at our private cabin for our anniversary! The cabin was clean and very nice, had running water and a beautiful bathroom. The food was good and we even got free breakfast with our stay as well as free boat rentals (canoe, kayak, and paddle boats). Great place to visit whether local (like us) or just visiting the state!

My family travels to Seward a few times a year, and we always stop here for ice cream! The restaurant has great clam chowder that they can serve in a sourdough bread bowl!

Waited 20 minutes in near empty dining room for table. Placed with upset noisy children… again, many empty tables, but not inconvenient for server. Very slow service, given fries not salad. Pie good, two of us felt ill afterwards. Overcharged for small cup of daily soup. $7.00.

Very nice accommodations! Clean and comfortable cabins with thoughtful layout and high end finishes. Staff was incredibly attentive and helpful. We will return again and again!

Menu prices are extremely high. Of particular note — they advertise "Black Tiger Prawns" as an appetizer. They are NOT Black Tiger Prawns. They are very small pre-frozen restaurant supply shrimp. Only 5 on an order for $14 — — Aside from prices and a quirky credit card policy, the service, venue and views are great.

It was very scenic and the ice cream was great! Looked like a cozy place to stay. It was clean and well run.

This is one of my favorite stops. The staff is consistently excellent, the food is made with care and creativity, the view is spectacular. I'm always sad to see it close during winter, but even the good folks at Summit Lake Lodge need a break. That could be one of the reasons the place is so excellent. The owners and staff take a break, and the place never gets fatigued.

I've been stopping at Summit Lake Lodge for years. It would be a Five-star place if I could get a cup of good, hot coffee there when I drive by in the Winter. But, alas, the staff has to go back to school or wherever they go to stay warm, so Summer Hours only. The rest of the story is; I'm Snow Birding now, too!
The food has always been great, even when the house is packed. Don't forget to save room for a stop into the ice cream shop!

We stayed here on June 25. We came to Alaska for our son's wedding and we chose this as one of the nights. I wish we had more there. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds and quiet, beautiful all around. The restaurant was very good and the bakery as well. The only complaint I would have is the shower is a bit small but other than that GREAT! I recommend highly.

Amazing place to stay near wilderness. Mountains all around and lake makes it the ideal place. Complimentary breakfast is good and filling. Around an hour drive to Exit Glacier and Harden icefield trail. All in all I loved and enjoyed my stay there!

Lakeside cabins are new and wonderful. Heated floors, leather recliners, comfortable king bed. Gorgeous views of the lake and mountains. Complimentary kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats available for exploring the lake. Make sure to try the pizza!

Stopped in for food after a long drive. Experience overall was fine. It's odd much of the food is California themed (almost everything has avocado on it) for an Alaskan restaurant, and they don't offer a simple cheeseburger despite six burger variations. Expensive, but the service was great and the location can't be beat.

Good food but a bit over priced. I was surprised to see they have a $20 dollar minimum to use credit and debit isn't an option.

Food is good in lodge. Cash only in log cabin coffee shop. Some Wi-Fi coverage and cell service is spotty. They don't allow fishing here.

We reserved a cabin with a lake view for one night at the lodge for our 29th wedding anniversary and found the experience to be awesome. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. The cabin was in a like new condition and all the amenities that really made our stay great. The cabin decor was nicely decorated and had a large bathroom with heated floors. The view out the window was amazing with the front deck facing the lake shore and the mountains in the backdrop with loons swimming nearby. The dining experience was enjoyable with the "Golden halibut" entree awesome as well as the homemade cheese cake. The service was great and the staff conversation enjoyable. The included breakfast was also very nice with made to order sourdough pancakes. We could not ask for a more memorable experience. We thought the the price was right considering the remote location and logistics involved with providing such a great experience.

Our stay (Aug 8-10) at Summit Lake Lodge was wonderful. Our trip began in Hatcher Pass and we enjoyed the scenic drive to this luxury cabin. Just off the road; however, the views were breathtaking! The cabin was immaculate. You could tell the owners spared no expense inside. The king-size bed was beautifully handcrafted. While it rained the majority of our stay… we enjoyed having those peaceful nights in our cabin. The breakfasts were inclusive and made to order… EXCELLENT! The hosts were wonderful. Time went by so quickly as we would have liked to enjoy the canoes more. Nearby to beautiful trails and scenic floats on the Kenai river. Highly recommend!

Amazing place! The cabins are brand new or at least very recent. The food was exceptional. The help was, well, incredibly helpful. We made the mistake of staying here only one night. If we ever come this way again, we will make this a destination.

Lovely Motel with lovely rooms, would go again.

We ate lunch here, and did not stay overnight. The location is an iconic one, right along a lake in a string of lakes on Turnigan Pass. The dining room has large windows, so you can look out over the lake and nearby mountains. Our party had hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, clam chowder, and fish tacos. Most of our group enjoyed their meals. They said the clam chowder didn't look very appetizing, but was quite tasty (it was very thick and had a glassy appearance). I wouldn't order the fish tacos again, though. They were $15 for two tacos, and I struggled to find any fish in them at all. Instead, the shell was filled with a very large amount of lettuce. The staff were nice enough, but not particularly attentive or engaging, which is surprising for a tourism based lodge. I'd say we liked it, but I would probably choose to try someplace else next time.

Beautiful, spacious cabin with an awesome, tiled, large bathroom and shower. High quality bed, bedding, towels and TV. Internet available in the dining area. Friendly owner and staff and an outstanding breakfast is included in the room price. Good central location to explore the Kenai Peninsula area. Lakes in immediate area have various size trout.

1. Summer. Because of I want to see Alaska and know more about this beautiful place. I want to know their's cultures, their's people. 2. Yes I have to means to get to Alaska. 3. My exact date in first week in June. 4. I am studying but in summer I have holiday for 3-4 month 5. My family is large. I have got a grandma, a father, a mother, a sister, a brother. They know that I am going to Alaska. And they are very happy. It is a chance to improve my english. 6. I hope you won't regret if choose me. I am very hardworking person. I will show everything that I am able to do. 7. In my opinion there is no difference between taking care of business and taking care of customer. 8 / 9 I have not any questions.

Food was delicious and establishment was clean but service was very slow and not too friendly. Prices are way too high as well. Really taking advantage of the lack of other restaurant options.

We stayed here a couple times — not bad, has the basic amenities (but no TV, not that you'd need it in Alaska) and it was a good value. The staff was friendly.
