Borealis Basecamp Tent

My husband and I just returned from 3 nights/4days of a wonderful experience At Borealis Basecamp. The northern lights magnificent, staff, so kind, and the activities pure pure enjoyment!

Best adventure ever! The igloos are awesome. Staff are wonderful! And when Lady Aurora shows herself …it’s spectacular!

Great place to stay with amazing tour options that include walking reindeer, UTV tours, sunset tours & Dog sled/cart tours with local mushers!

Best part of our trip to Alaska. Staff members were great. Food was delicious.

They are not touched to stay, but we had 2 nights of looking for auroras in their facilities.

Really think I got my money’s worth here. Great place to chance seeing the northern lights. 2 nights wasn’t really enough. Superb food at Latitude 65! Not to worry about dragging your suitcases in the snow, staff got you! Comfortable shuttle service. Book Nathan of Electricmoose studios to capture your memorable stay — he’s just awesome!

I’m up here right now. I was fortunate to see the lights last night. I can’t say enough about this place. It’s amazing. Staff are incredible. Activities are fun. Don’t hesitate to book a trip here. You will not regret it. One of the best vacations I’ve ever been on!

Had the most amazing 4 days at Basecamp. Every one is super friendly and they tend to needs extremely fast! The excursions are all based on your level of comfort and guides are emergency trained. Food is incredible, views are even better. And the LIGHTS…. The lights are worth every penny alone. Nic was the best snowmobile guide ever. Dave has me wanting to join a sled dog team and the reindeer handlers were super awesome. Don’t listen to anyone saying this places isn’t worth a visit they are crazy. This Basecamp is ran by a bunch of great people! We Plan on coming back numerous times!

This place is amazing! We had the best experience. We recommend booking a portrait session, the reindeer meet and greet, the UTV tour, and the sled dogs! The igloos are so cozy and we got an amazing Aurora show our first night staying here. The food at Latitude 65 is incredible as well.

We did Dog sledding here and it was soooo nice! The mushers were so detailed with info and professional! The view was so pretty! We looked for so many dog sledding places that near Fairbanks because we dont have a car, but we are glad we chose here eventho it is quite far from the city center.

Love the igloos. Restaurant food is very yummy ($$$), all staff are so kind and helpful and seeing the aurora is amazing. Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning place. They offer a lot of activities considering you are pretty off grid. We were able to see the lights one night and it was beautiful! This is a great place to get away.

10 stars I could give this place for a review. All staff are super nice and friendly. Room is so beautiful and private. Activities were so fun and nice people are all over the place. The servers and Chef George are super awesome, friendly and wonderful food at Latitude 65. Thank you for taking care of me and my husband so great.

Amazing staff, restaurant and accommodations! The lights were amazing!

Truly an amazing and one of a kind experience! The staff was amazing and so welcoming. George at Latitude 65 is an amazing chef and also very personable getting to know each guest. Definitely try the salmon, the glaze is to die for. Steven, the helicopter pilot, was so informative during our tour with not only the landscape but also the helicopter itself. Highly recommend the helicopter upgrade if you’re able to! It was breathtaking. Sam was our snow machine guide and made it so enjoyable for us. Our dog sled tour was something I’ll never forget and an experience like no other! Our musher was going to race the following day and we got to learn all about the dogs as well as their racing. So awesome! (We come from a dirt bike racing background so it was cool to hear about a different form). The lights were unreal and something I’ll never forget, especially because my boyfriend proposed under them! The igloos are so cozy and stay really warm. The beds are soo comfortable and the toilets are just mind blowing. Definitely a bucket list trip and we can’t wait to return! Thank you to all of the staff for the amazing experience.

Great place to be. Great personal very helpful and courteous. Great food. Awesome snow mobile trip. The dog sledding was also great. On the negative side I have to say that the water in the shower was not hot all the time. Hard to get a long shower like that. Lol. The breakfast was good. The only bad thing it was that the breakfast the same every day. In general great experience. Definitely need to put television in the igloo or perhaps in the main area. We are from Florida totally different weather BUT THE PEOPLE THERE MADE IT WARM.

I can’t say enough good things about Borealis Basecamp. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The scenery is beautiful and the Northern Lights are beyond amazing. I would do it all again ❤️

They were wonderful here. The owner and the staff went above and beyond when our tour company canceled on us one week before we were supposed to leave. They gave us the exact same price as the company did so we didn’t have to pay anything extra even though we paid less than what they offer the same deal at.
The food was great as well. The dog cart ride was awesome just a little muddy lol.

Very clean accommodations. Staff and owners make you feel like family. The food was awesome. A truly great experience.

Want to go off the grid in Alaska? This is the place to do it. Very comfortable domes with great views. This would meet my definition of glamming. Great food and very comfortable beds. Hot shower and full bathroom with composting toilets. This place is great if you want to go hiking, snow machining or even experience dog sled mushing. Dress warmly for outdoor activities but inside delightfully warm.

We loved everything! Perfect place to see the Lights! We loved the whole experience. Would love to see them again. Great accommodations and staff!

Very nice view, very comfortable bed!

This was the immersive Alaskan experience we wanted and needed. The location is beautifully remote allowing for expansive views of the landscape and sky. The geodome rooms with a transparent ceiling are the perfect romantic canopy. The food while on the pricey side was extremely good and all of the staff were fantastic. The ATV trip to the pipeline and back through the snow was sureal, and the clouds breaking apart on our final night to reveal the Aurora Borealis was magical.

It is a construction site.
paths are full of largish rocks difficult to walk on.
our room had nowhere to hang clothes.
I thought it expensive for what it provided.
food was good at the restaurant even though the menu prices were incorrect for the chicken
However the northern lights were spectacular.

Amazing staff, I’ve never met a more friendly and attentive team in my life. Rachel, Madison and Lauren were absolutely fabulous, I could chat to those girls for hours, they even helped adjust our camera settings when the aurora was out, Rachel made s’mores with us by the fire pit too which was great!
We went dog sledding with Dave and it was a big highlight for me, he explained so much of the conditioning and introducing the dogs, explaining their personalities and how it affected what position they race in, all while they’re pulling you through the beautiful tree lined trails, we also got to meet the puppies!
ATV with Christian, great guy with a load of knowledge about the pipeline, communities, trails and animals in the area.
George the head chef was incredible, delicious food and makes everything from scratch each day, the French dip for lunch was HEAVEN! Austin the sous chef was outstanding, beautiful fresh produce and everything cooked to perfection! The beds were like sleeping on clouds and the amenities were great, beautiful wood benches and natural textures. We were lucky enough to have 2 nights with active activity of the aurora, the second night was intense with 5 hours of activity! Great place that I’ll remember for a lifetime. Only 2 small negatives.
They don’t have their liquor license yet, so if you wish to enjoy a wine or 4 under the aurora make sure to BYO.
Heater in the room is quite loud.

Off the grid but still glamorous! Eco friendly igloos to experience the northern lights right from your extra comfy bed. Friendly service, wi fi and amazing views. Excellent food!

Our main reason was to see Northern Lights. The camp is north of Fairbanks. The domes are comfortable. You shouldn't expect any luxuries during your stay. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. There is no hair dryer in the dome. There was still woke construction going on when we were there, it was a little loud during the day. Everyone was so helpful with everything. Breakfast is included but you shouldn't expect much from the breakfast. There was bread, cheese and some fruits. There was privacy between the domes. We quite enjoyed our stay there. We were able to see the lights 2 consequtive days.

This place is very cool but also very not finished. Please don't come here looking for luxury. These are awesome, fancy domes turned cabins/hotel room. Each one is individual, so there is some privacy and in the height of Aurora viewing season, they'll have a spectacular view. But… they are way far out off a dirt back country, hilly road. There's no signs anywhere that you're headed in the right direction. There's no kitchen, so any for head to be ordered by them and catered or bring your own. And remember, it's nature, there's no guarantees.

Very good place! It’s so cool that they build such an amazing place here. We talked to the owner and his wife, and they are all great people! Even though we didn’t see the aurora this time, we still really enjoy our stay.

If we didn't have a guide, we never would have made it here. The yurt got warm as soon as the heater was turned on and there were snacks for us including hot beverages. Because of the heavy snowfall, our ceiling glass was obstructed but we popped outside when our guide suggested. We are very grateful that we did get to see the aurora!

Great views! Dog sledding was unbelievable! Light show couldn’t have been better!

The little room is really unique dome and glass roof. I am laying down on my bed and watching the sky. I think here is the place I can bring all stars to my dream.

No better way to enjoy the Aurora. It is an immersive experience indeed.
