Staff is so amazingly friendly and really works to make for a great experience. Pickup from the airport was quick and the driver was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint comes from my boyfriend who was disappointed that they didn't actually have breakfast. The front desk clerk informed me they had recently stopped serving breakfast. I didn't care one bit, but men can be funny. Ce la vie.

It's OK heard people yelling. Then they had packed my stuff up and put it in the janitors closet. When I got back 30 minutes later. THEY HAVE TEA AND CREAMER IM PRETTY SURE THEY HAVE COFFEE AND THEY HAVE A SAFE THAT YOU can code with your own password to keep your personal items.

Very friendly staff and reception. Comfortable rooms with microwave, T. V. Coffee/tea facilities iron and ironing board. Also hairdryer and fridge.

We stayed in the room for 4 people with a bedroom and a living room with tiny kitchen. It was spacious and clean, and we could see the mountains from our window. Free shuttle bus runs every hour from 3am to 3 pm, the off time is by request. Nice location right in downtown Anchorage with many places to eat and things to do within walking distance. They also have 2 desktop computers and a printer in the lobby you can use for free. Wifi signal was good. The only problem was the broken fan in the bathroom, it didn't work at all, so there was no ventilation and the steam and odors took a long time to disappear. Would recommend it overall!

Is this place lux? Absolutely not. But for a cheap, clean, comfortable place near the train station, we were very happy with it. Spacious rooms, friendly staff, free shuttle to the airport. Could use a little maintenance and updating, but again, it was exactly as I'd hoped it would be for the price.

Everything seems nice except for the view I'm sure there's other rooms with better views so make sure you know which one you get.

This place is a good place but it needs a restaurant in the hotel so the people don't have to walk far to get there food cause our elders can't walk far or they can't see well nice and quiet.

We enjoyed five nights in Anchorage. Not fancy, no "free breakfast". We utilized the in room frig which has a small freezer, a microwave and coffee maker to eat most of our meals in the room. There is a decent sized table and chairs. The staff was top notch, friendly and helpful, from the shuttle driver to the housekeepers. It is within sight of the Sheraton. As reviews I read before I booked this hotel said, there are homeless who hangout near the hotel. Unfortunately, there is an abundance of homeless in Anchorage. We walked the downtown area, keeping ourselves aware of our surroundings. We had no problems.

This hotel is a hole. I’ve stayed at multiple Guest House Inns and this place is not up to par. The hotel is filthy, the hallways smell of mold, and the management allows all kinds of drunk/drug folks to come and go all night. When I contacted the management about our company stay all I got was Confrontation. Yes the hotel is cheap, but it’s not worth the experience, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Stayed here during the middle of winter. The employees were efficient and courteous. The rooms were clean and functional. The beds were just okay. I had frozen seafood with me the day before my flight and they allowed me to keep them in their freezer overnight. I will choose this hotel again next time.

Located downtown, right near the 5th ave mall, the building looks nice, but the rooms are pretty small, and no food service is a real downside though, even more so when the place they sent us to closed half an hour before they should have. But otherwise great service.

I was very impressed by this downtown Anchorage hotel. I have passed it many times on visits to the city but I had not stayed there. One week I was passing through town and decided I would give the hotel a try as it was pretty much listed as a budget priced hotel. I was very surprised. The room was immaculate clean and very fresh. The beds were large and comfy with large pillows. Besides being appointed like a room that was much more expensive it was also equipped with everything you would possibly want like an iron and board, hair dryer, microwave, coffee maker, fridge and safe. The bathroom was large and spotless with plenty of shampoo, large towels and plenty of hot water. The room was also completely quiet and I was not able to hear noise from the hallway or other rooms. The hotel staff were friendly and knew a lot about the area. This hotel for me was quite the find and I have stayed at many of the downtown area hotels. Cosidering all the variables like price, location, etc since my first stay with them I regard this hotel as one of the best in the downtown Anchorage area. They also have a shuttle to and from the airport. On arriving in the city the shuttle leaves for the airport on the hour and its about 15 minutes before the van arrives to pick you up in the pickup area. My driver was actually looking for me upon arrival.

It was good for the price. They had a shuttle that took me to mcdonalds when they werent busy. The staff is nice and helpful with suggestions.

Staff is always great and funny. They jumped when I called because we didn't have any towels. They arrived right away to snake the tub when it wouldn't drain and then againwhen the heat wouldn't stop. They brought coffee, sugar and creamer in the morning when we couldn't find any. And came right up with the special remote to turn on the cable box. The lobby is clean but unfortunately a little too frequented by drunks.

Small little hotel with great prices. Located downtown Anchorage close to the museum and mall. They have a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and TV as well as a safe to put your valuables. Only downside was the homeless outside but if you steer clear of them they will leave you alone.

Just arrived in Alaska for the first time. This hotel is within walking distance of dispensaries, food, and just about everything. Check in was great. Just stay away from the airport car rentals, or read all the fine print. I had to put down 500 dollars for using a debit card, or its 200 if you have a credit card, and the car isnt always saved for you.

Had a decidedly mixed experience last time I was there. I had to stay in town unexpectedly because of medical issues and they put me on the 3rd floor, but couldn't get the room key to work. It was very late and I was in a lot of pain and I had to go back and forth with my luggage four times it took 45 minutes to get me in the damn room. I've stayed there many times when it was the Day's Inn, and continue to. It's usually okay these days, I'll be back but that left a bad impression. Edit: thank you for the response. I've stayed with you twice since then and it's been much better. I've been saying at this motel for many years and it has always been a sweet spot for value. I think the last-minute booking was part of the room key issue as the key system was being upgraded or something.

Smells like a room that that had hundreds of thousands of people without ever washing the sheets or cleaning the carpet. I'm not saying they don't properly clean and/or replace, but because of the lack of a good AC unit or at least a good filter, the room SMELLS awful. Like old, stale gym locker room-awful. Also the walls are thin… The place is effectively a strip-mall motel that looks like a real hotel. If you can deal with the suck, the price isn't bad.

The Inn is located close to the airport and they have sufficent parking in case one is travelling in a rental car. Check in process is pretty smooth and there is no need to inform in advance for late check ins. The building and rooms seemed to be little old but the rooms are spacious. The only concern I have is the slight smell from the carpets. Hot water is available. Free breakfast is provided in the form of coupons in a restaurant that is right opposite of the inn. We stayed overnight after landing in Anchorage and started to Seward the next day. I probably would have rated one star less if we stayed for more than one night.

Very habitual. Could tolerate a fundamental renovation. Staff somewhat unfriendly. But a late checkout was no problem. Relatively clean. But wouldn't want to sleep there anymore. There are better hotels in Anchorage.

Decent for the price. Clean, spacious room. We had an "exterior" queen room so we were on the main road, I would recommend an "interior" room if you don't like road noise but that was not the fault of the hotel. Parking is a little interesting. There are a few spaces within the property, and the other option is a couple of alley ways behind the building. Nothing was damaged or stolen but I would not recommend leaving anything in your vehicle anyway. Bed was moderately comfortable, AC worked and all other amenities were fine. I believe they offer a free breakfast at a restaurant across the road, but we did not take advantage of that on this trip. Overall a good hotel for a short stay. All employees were knowledgeable and courteous, check in and check out we're very easy.

The short impression we have received from the hotel is rather bad… so our room was already clearly worn out… what was recognizable by the fact that the carpet had a dirty color and also the two loungers in the first room looked very dirty… In addition, there were some holes in the fabric. Furthermore, the bedside table was massively damaged… There was missing a piece of wood the size of a palm…
The shuttle to the airport is useful… but here, too, you can clearly see that the vehicle is already heavily worn…
Good is the free coffee that you can take in the reception area. In addition, we received a voucher for the breakfast, which we were unfortunately not able to perceive…

This hotel was very nice and priced just right. Clean rooms, conveniently located with the nicest staff. Sizzlin Cafe, right across the street, breakfast hours were right on par with the weekend. We were still able to grab a bite to eat even though we slept in — breakfast was served all day long!

We had a wonderful stay over the Thanksgiving weekend. The staff was great — — Friendly and helpful! Room was clean and freshened daily by the housekeeping staff. The hotel is near all the fun stuff in Anchorage — — — shopping, dining, museum.

Great value and Very clean accommodations. Close to the performing arts center. Hotel staff very courteous and helpful! Enjoyed the fitness room. Would definitely come back. Have stayed at this hotel in the past and find it is easy to get to and perfect for a nights stay.

GuestHouse Inn of Anchorage. Highly recommended. Hotel is affordable, clean, with a good attention from the staff. Has transportation to the Anchorage International Airport. I stayed in summer time and was extremely pleasant. Features air conditioning, quiet, good TV reception, and somewhat tired important, its location is very good: is very close to the center (downtown) Anchorage, ak.

Great staff that remembers our preferences, great accomodations, great breakfast & we love the pillows & comfy bed. We will be back. Shower is amazing.

My husband and I selected this hotel based on its reasonable price that included daily breakfast and its convenient location and free hotel airport shuttle. The room was very large. The daily breakfast had a lot of variety and made a 5-night stay enjoyable. There are quite a few restaurants very closeby. The microwave and refrigerator in the room were convenient but we ended up not using them.

I have stayed at this hotel for over a month in the Medicaid rooms and I have liked staying at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and make you feel at home; and as comfortable as possible. The only issue I think I can say about the hotel is that the Wi-Fi is not very good. It works sometimes and then other times it won't work. But other than that, my experience so far has been exceptionally great.

The hotel is a bit outside of downtown Anchorage, but walkable. The staff was extremely friendly and have done a good job. The hotel itself is a bit old but very clean. Very nice done and makes it worth to stay at this location. I will go again.

I chose this hotel for it's 4 1/2 star review, cheap price for downtown anchorage, and continental breakfast and free air port shuttle. I do not know why this hotel has such a high review. The rooms are absolutely disgusting. My room smelled like terrible body odor, and I would have worn flip flops in the shower, if I could have bared it long enough to stay for a shower. The beds are small and very uncomfortable. The closet area is a bar on the wall to hang stuff right by one of the beds. The hallways are disgusting and not clean. I read reviews that said it smelled and it is worth it to pay the extra money for a nicer hotel. Since it had a 4 1/2 star review, I ignored this advice, but it turned out to be true. I had a 4 day reservation and left after the first day. Not only is the hotel disgusting, but the customer service is not good. Stay somewhere else, even if is more money, because it is worth it.

Recently visited Anchorage for 3nts. The hotel was a great price and easy to use public transport throughout the city. Complimentary shuttle to railroad station. They had a very nice breakfast and the rooms were spacious and clean. The best part was the great front desk staff, whom helped us with suggestions and directions — Anchorage is a wonderful city to visit. Most friendly and helpful residents. We loved it and would return.

The room was great, very spacious, with super comfortable bed. Everything really clean and well-maintained. It was pretty quiet at night. Breakfast was great. Great hotel for a comfortable stay and as a base for roadtrips in and around Anchorage.

My daughter and I recently stayed at the GuestHouse Inn. We had stayed at this hotel once before when it was known as Days Inn. We came back because we remembered that stay as being pleasant. Well this visit produced the same results. The room was spacious, clean, and the beds comfortable. The hotel itself was extremely quiet. The breakfast provided at the Sizzlin Café was the best I've had in years. I was shocked by the fact that they had real scrambled eggs and fresh potatoes (w/ rosemary). We plan on visiting Anchorage again next year and you can be sure that we will be staying at GuestHouse Inn.

We enjoyed our room. It was quiet, immaculate, spacious. Every evening when we returned to the room, it looked as good as when we first checked in. Extra blanket and pillows were provided. The little kitchenette area was very convenient and appreciated. Firm bed, fluffy towels, nice flat screen TV with perfect reception. And incredible staff! Thank you, GuestHouse. Well done.

Our stay here was for my fiancée’s birthday, we had an enjoyable stay and much needed rest and relaxation in a wonderful city. We cannot wait to come back and enjoy all the features the hotel and city has to offer, thank you very much.

The hotel was clean upon arrival. Reservation was accurate. Quick check-in. Not a member of the reward program, clerk offered to sign me up and I didn't have to fill out any paperwork. Room was nice and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable and temp in room was well regulated. Overall though the stay was nice.

We were very satisfied with our stay at GuestHouse. The staff were very friendly and fast with checking me in. The room was extremely clean and well stocked. We travel with two dogs and they welcomed us, no trouble at all. I will definitely stay there again when I am back in that area.

This hotel offered lots of great surprises considering the reasonable rate. The room was spacious, clean and had up-to-date furniture as well as a great, big, TV. They accepted out small dog for a small fee, which was great as it was hard to find a hotel in Anchorage that accepted pets. The beds were in great condition for getting decent sleep. The front desk staff were professional, courteous and accommodating. I would definitely return here and recommend to others.

What a nice hotel. Great front desk reception. When I mentioned I was a "day sleeper" she automatically switched me to top floor close to the end of the hallway without me even asking. Very quiet.

We needed a place to stay in Anchorage for a very early morning procedure at the hospital. GuestHouse Inn was the perfect choice — just minutes away from the medical center, and utterly comfortable, hospitable and enjoyable. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet.

During our three day stay we never met an unfriendly person at this hotel. Great location with plenty of easy to walk to bars and restaurants. Special recognition to Darlene, first person we spoke with when we arrived and last person we spoke with when checking out.

Wish I had been in town longer to enjoy this great hotel and city. Being within walking distance of the Performing Art Center, Museum, 5th Avenue Mall and too many restaurants to count. I would definitely choose this hotel again when I come back.

The GuestHouse was nice, clean and convenient to downtown. It's close to everything to do in Anchorage. The staff was pleasant and adequate and the property clean and updated. We had a room with a spectacular view overlooking Mt. McKinley. Would I come here again. Sure if the rate is right. I fully support the hotel going green and encouraging reusing towels. Maybe it was just our room. Maybe not. Free parking and Wi-Fi is great considering most hotels charge for this service.

Attended a conference in the Egan Center and stayed here based on the great reviews. Loved the room. Seeing dogs in the elevator and halls was fun! Cons shower drained extremely slow. I'd definitely stay here again.

What a great hotel. Right downtown. Numerous restaurants, pubs, bars in a walking distance. VERY dog friendly — wherever you can go your dog can. Service is great, greeted us very well with an upgrade. Will definitely recommend it and will stay here again.

Very nice hotel. The hotel was very clean and dog friendly. Safe neighborhood when walking to/from the convention center, shopping and dining. Very quiet, given the close proximity to the nightlife, but a little noisy from other guests on the Saturday night. The hotel staff are very friendly and incredibly helpful. Great customer service (cannot say enough good stuff about the staff). Highly recommended. Will stay there again when we're back.
