Check in was typical, however, we were slightly surprised when handed a key and not a card, no hotel I have stayed in during the past 10 plus years has had that type of lock, but OK, we knew we had not booked with a more pricey hotel. Upon entering the room we discovered it was frozen in time (1970's? ), only the very basics, again, we felt we could deal with it for the one night. But after only being in the room for less than 10 minutes there was a very loud banging on the door. My husband answered only to see a group of older boys running down the breezeway. In the 70's we would have said it's just 'boys having fun', but not in today's world. It would appear we were being watched as ours was the only door to be hit on, they had to have known we just arrived. With only an old basic lock we did not feel safe at all. My husband and I both agreed we would not even be comfortable leaving our belongings there long enough to go get a bite to eat and then there was the question of what could possibly happen if they did this (or something more) in the middle of the night. The manager offered us another room at the front of the hotel, we said thank you, but no thank you and was on our way to another hotel within 30 minutes of arrival, we were not offered a refund which I guess the manager was not authorized to offer. We were willing to overlook many things when it comes to a cheaper hotel, but safety is not one of them.
The new updates are awesome, and the owners go above and beyond for their customers. Very great quality rooms for the money.

If you want to sleep inside a sauna go ahead and book this hotel. Very outdated rooms! The AC didn’t work. Pay a few more money and get something 10 times better.
