The first room that I was assigned had a door that didn't close. I didn't need the room key to open and I'm glad nobody was inside when I pushed the door open. The second room was more secure but was just as disgusting. Non-smoking must mean that nobody was actually smoking in the room at that specific moment while you are checking in. I don't know if it was blood, lipstick or something else on the pillow case but it probably would not have been there if someone washed the linens between guests. I "slept" fully clothed on the bed using the one towel that was in the room as a blanket. The front desk couldn't get me any new linens as it was late and they didn't have the key to housekeeping.

Nice decent sized rooms. Housekeeping works hard to keep them clean and up to standard. Bathrooms are decent sized and we'll maintained. The Staff here is very attentive and kind. They seem to strive to help you in any way possible. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good room with fair prices.

Terrible. I guess because they were building a new one they didn't need to keep up the old one. Very scary. There was a pimp waiting outside for his woman. It wreaked of pot smoke. Just bad… the fixtures in the bathroom were falling out. I had to beg for an extra blanket when it was 45 degrees outside. Very disappointing.

Was shocked at how bad the outside looked but decided to give it a chance since we had reserved it. We were into day one of moving my daughter and son-in-law and they had two cats with them and this hotel accepted pets. Got to the room. Overwhelming cigarette smoke smell. Bathroom floor was sticky. Hair on the bed. Sheets not clean. Someone left Oreos in the drawer and they were still there. TV was on to a sketchy channel and we could not get the remote to turn it off. I cannot imagine that La Quinta would want its name associated with this place. Quickly got on the phone and booked us somewhere else. I would have spent the night in my car over staying here.

Reserved a non smoking room but received a smoking room instead. The bed had hair in it. There was large food particles on the floor. The room smelled of cigarettes and mold. Then asked for another room which smelled and looked total different. Do not recommend staying here.

This was the absolute worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I would never return unless my life depended on it. The 1 star I gave was for the front desk attendant who was pleasant and friendly. The room smelled like a mixture of smoke and feces. There was stains all over the carpet. The garbage hadn’t even been changed from the last guest. It was so dirty we didn’t dare walking the room barefoot. We even kept our sandals on IN THE SHOWER. Even worse than the lack of cleansiness was the group of crack heads roaming around the property. Do not stay here. Its cheap but you get what you pay for. And FYI, the pictures online are NOT the actual hotel. It’s more of a rundown, trashy, motel 6.

We had been driving from North Carolina and had had a long day. All we wanted to do was eat our food and watch TV and sleep. The first room they send us to, the beds are not made so we go down and tell the staff that. They move us to another room and it is as far from that room as possible and it smells terrible. Luckily the AC worked well so we used that to help with the smell. My brother showered first and he turned on the fan and a couple minutes go by and we start to hear this horrible noise. The fan just stopped working we think and when the fan was turned off the noise stopped and none of the rest of us used the fan. I would most definitely not stay here again and would love to see this place destroyed once the new La Quinta gets up and running across the street.

Came for the University of Alabama Graduation — my sister booked this hotel a month in advanced — the first room smelled musty turned out the carpet in front of the TV was wet — the second room smelled like urine but since they where booked solid (per the front desk) we settled on wet carpet as opposed to urine. I will be speaking to the maanger tomorrow as we have a month old baby and the conditions where unacceptable but we had no options. Wish I could give less than 1 star.

Be aware: this is not a real LaQuints inn. This is a forty-year-old Motel 6 that has never been renovated and just had a LaQuinta sign thrown up in front. We rented two rooms, and between the two rooms, one TV didn't work, one bathroom outlet didn't work, and one deadbolt wouldn't lock. It was actually decently clean, but just don't expect anything other than a rundown motel.

For the love of all that is holy, do not stay here! I'd feel safer in a cardboard box in the middle of I-59. Obvious human trafficking. 3rd world accommodations. No towels, no remote (I did ask the lady at the desk for one, but no worky. ) I will not be taking a shower in the morning. HOW can this place pass an inspection? Absolutely pissed that I paid money for this hole! I'm almost afraid to hit SEND for fear of retaliation by bullet in the parking lot.

Room is outdated. The room smelt, we sprayed it with disinfectant to make it smell better. The bathroom was clean. Room was clean. Bring your own travel fan because our A/c sucked. There were 3 reachable outlets and won't hold your plug in the wall. The patch of grass to walk your dog has piles of poop everywhere. And there is a long drop so you and your pet be careful.

We had to stay a night here in this night, while driving back from Atlanta and the weather was very bad. We stayed in a room with two double beds. The room was clean and the bathroom was also kept neat. This was included free breakfast. The breakfast was nothing extra ordinary, but decent. We paid total of 72$ for this, which was little over price I would say.

This place is a complete hole. The non-smoking rooms smell like an ashtray, and the noise level is absurd. The first room we were given smelled so amazingly bad that I actually for the first time in my life went to the front desk to get another room. The second room hadn't been made up and the sheets and towels were still on the floor. The third room was clean, but still smelled so much that we kept our door and window open as to try and air it out. If you are into human trafficking or the sale and distribution of crack, this is the place for you. The other guests yelled and made all kinds of noise all night, and we had some random woman on a cell phone trying to get into our room while we slept. I have stayed in a hotel with water and electricity that only worked occasionally in the middle of the jungle in Peru, and I can tell you that I'd gladly go there again before I'd ever stay at this dump. I picked this hotel because it was one of the cheaper ones in the area, and I deeply regret that decision. Only half the lights in our room actually worked, the coffee maker didn't work as well. For $59 a night I wasn't expecting anything nice, but this place is "sleep with your gun at your side" sketchy. The woman at the front desk was nice.

Very nice. Breakfast had everything but meat. They did have eggs, waffles and lots more. Love the bed.

Decent overnight stay, just passing through. Price was right and the staff was very friendly. Plenty to do in the area thanks to the university. Shower was a little weird and the volume on the TV didn't work. But overall, decent.

Zero stars. Had to choose something to lost this. Worst 1 hour hotel visit ever. First room was dirty and had no outlets to plug our phones to charge. No outlet by the beds, at all. Not even for the alarm clock that stood there with the plug in top of it. Stained bedspreads that were old. 2nd room, smelled moldy. Turned on a/c to circulate and filter the air with the door open, only to find a partial, bloody hand print on the wall. Yes, a bloody hand print. The room was still dirty beyond that. 3rd room, the lights and electric outlets didn't work. Some white powder along the walls by the bed and behind all the furniture. Like baking soda or for bedbugs… still not sure. Each room only had 2 towels. Not enough for our 3 occupants, so we had to ask for more and carry them to each of these rooms. Trashiest LaQuinta we have ever been to. Couldn't get a refund. Left and drove to Birmingham where we were greeted with an extremely clean room. 5 stars for that location. No blood, no bedbugs, no mold, etc. Worth the drive to keep going and skip this one altogether. Just a few pics below of the various rooms.

Convienent location right off I-20, but… room smells like an old stale bar and has cigarette burns on the carpet. The comforter cover on one of the beds have a discerning “spot on it” a little too much DNA… (baby batter). Both beds have dirty sheets and haven’t been changed on a regular basis. There is 6-10 cars in the parking lot but they are booked and there are no available rooms… Very disappointed in this hotel, have stayed in many la quintas and have never felt dirty as soon as I Opened the door. Will absolutely never stay here again.

This review was for the state of the hotel room not the staff (i didn't interact with them much but they seemed nice). Do you ever pull back the sheets (to check for bed bugs and yet you never expect to actually find them)? Thankfully (according to the person I was staying with) it was not bed bugs just mold. Which I guess I can agree with, considering it was covering the shower curtains as well.

Sheets were either dirty or stained — this was a big deal for me. The workers were very friendly and check in/out was super smooth and easy.

Old repainted rooms. Not nasty. Didn't see any bugs and seemed safe.

TD;LR: Found bedbugs in the room; corporate decides to do nothing about it. I didn’t want to write this review… But after waiting close to a month to get this matter resolved with corporate, they decided to do nothing about it, so I will describe my situation to let the public know about this place and how the corporate office treats their customers. I arrived and was given a room on the second floor. Upon entering my room, I saw that it was mostly clean and decided to close my eyes and sleep, but during the early morning, I had this intense itching situation on my entire body and quickly strung up from my bed to discover that my entire body is covered in welts. I looked on the mattress and saw that there was BEDBUGS on the mattress. (See pictures attached). I picked up the mattress and saw that there was hundreds of them underneath! I immediately went to the front desk person and informed them that the mattress was filled with bedbugs but she didn’t want to do anything about it and asked if I just wanted another room. I told her to not go through that trouble and proceeded to leave and go elsewhere. I called the corporate office in the morning and they were apologetic and said that “This does not happen in our chain of hotels; we will work with you to get this matter resolved”. I told them my entire story and forward them all of the photos that I have taken of that night and they said that they will get back to me once the claims have been processed.

Stay away if you can. First of all it looks run down. People hanging around that are not customers. The door to the room looks like it been kick in. The door jam had been repaired. The plumbing didn't work and the bathroom floor was sticky like an old movie theater. Beds where worn out and the linen was old. What really set off the alarms was when we walked to the grocery store next door. They had a armed guard was bullet proof vest on standing by the cash register. Last time I've seen that was in Johannesburg south africa. We went back to the room and looked the place up. I found there was many police reports connected with this place. Kidnapping, rape, robbery, drug dealing and prostitution. The doors to the rooms are on the outside making it easy for criminals to kick the door in. There was a sign stating there was security but we saw none. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.

After reading a lot of negative reviews I thought I'd want to leave the la quinoa inn but I actually had a nice stay here. Carpets could use a good cleaning but the front desk hospitality was amazing. Free breakfast was also fine. Overall I'd stay here again.

Checked into our first room, the room smelt like dog and mold, all the ceilings were moldy and were falling apart. Asked for another room, and the room they gave us was just as bad, the room stunk, the ceilings were covered in mold, roaches crawling across the floor, one corner of the bed had tons of dead bugs in a spider web, beds had stains and smelt horrible, I wouldn't even lay in them, left the ac on 69 for 3 hrs, came back in and still wasn't cold. There was a big hair ball half way in the garbage can and the other half on the floor. I understand you get what you pay for, but this is all lack of maintenance. I honestly didn't even want to rate it with 1 star but I had to just to give this review.

Is it possible to rate lower than 1 star? I have never had this much trouble trying to book a room in my life. Do NOT recommend.

So unpaid almost 300 dollars for a night stay. Online pictures looked like a very nice hotel. However my first room had black mold on bathroom ceiling, and bed room. The next room has a guy outside smoking weed. Last chance there was roaches and moldie beds. We left and went to super 8. Was much better.

Room was very convenient and comfortable. Quiet and breakfast was good. Bad location tho and road was terrible leading up to the restaurant.

I am giving it a 2 because the front desk attendant was extremely helpful and friendly other wise it would be a 1. CRACK HEAD CENTRAL! I could go on and on into much more detail but why waste my time… if you came here to sleep don't bother because you will be up all night guarding you vehicle.

I recently stayed there in August 1. I reserved my room several months prior to the weekend I stayed I specifically requested a non smoking room when checked in there was only smokers rooms I had no no choice it's was move in weekend at the University of Alabama so there was no vacancies plus I had just driven from New York 2. The room had a broken table 3. I left one day and returned at 2pm room wasn't cleaned Overall I wouldn't suggest this hotel to anyone.

It was old and dirty… front desk did not know how to check us in. Reserved 1st floor and they admitted they gave it to someone else… my poor old lab retriever unable to climb the stairs fell down… I could not carry her… it took them 40 minutes to get us a room on the first floor which is what we had reserved in the first place. The breakfast was below par the only eggs they had were hard boiled with a shell on. They kept me running out of food every breakfast. The door key malfunction several times. There was a fence around the pool and you're not allowed to get in unless you had a door key. And that door lock malfunctioned so you had to get the people from the front desk to open up the pool every time and they were always busy. I spilled some water on the floor and when I went to pick it up with a clean white towel the towel turn brown yuck!

It was a lovely room, a comfortable bed and the breakfast was ok. The shower is made for someone much shorter than us, however. My daughter is 5'3 and it barely got her shoulder. Also we thought we were getting a double size sleeper sofa and it was really 2 twins. Otherwise a lovely stay with great staff.

One of the worst motels I have ever stayed. Mold was on the mattress and on the shower curtain. We were nervous to walk on the carpet and tile floor barefoot. I should have definitely read the reviews before we made a reservation. Breakfast had bugs coming out of the bread container. We had to change rooms when we first arrived, because the bathroom light didn't work, flies were in the bathroom, the phone didn't work and there was mold on the inside of the phone. Disgusting! The ladies in the lobby were nice, the water pressure in the shower was decent, and they allowed dogs. However we will never stay there again! I would rather spend more money then stay there!

Checked in around 1030pm, got to room, housekeeping hadnt touched it, got another room, no clock, trashcans, towels, soaps, atleast beds were clean and I wasnt staying but the night.

This is our 2nd year staying at this location & we're always very pleased. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Love the staff here! We will definitely return. The only thing I would like to see changed are the pot holes & narrow drive.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Slightly run down, older property. Exterior corridors. Free breakfast and Wi-Fi. Both nearby restaurants are out of business.

This is by far the worst LA Quinta/ Hotel we've ever been to… period. The photos oboon line are deceiving! The hotel hostess had an uninviting attitude about her; the room smelled funny; there were large amounts of stain marks on the carpet; the bed felt lumpy as if it was one of those early 70s/80s mattresses. The toilet was just nasty and the locks on the door were half broken. Of it wasn't for the fact that I was tired from being on the road driving for 14 hours due to traveling across county, I would of never stayed there… oh and I booked online two hours before I actually showed up because I was pleased with what I saw online. Sadly I was beyond disappointed when I checked in. Oh and the "free" continental breakfast was a joke! I mean, they discontinue sausage links two years ago-as so the hotel hostess so "kindly" stated! I'd give this hotel a negative star if Google would let me!

It was descaseing. The bath room smelled like pee. Not veary friendly poeple. We had to call someone to clean if up. Some truck was in front of are room.

The rooms were pretty nice for a budget place. The bed was more comfortable than my own bed actually. Breakfast was standard: cereal, waffles, boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, etc. No speedbumps which is great if you're hauling a trailer. Only complaint is that the shower heads were kinda low down, even with my eyes and I'm 5'8", but that's a small price to pay considering what you're getting for the price.

The hotel was a good deal in a good location. The front desk staff was very nice. The room was pretty good except for the bed. Biggest problem was that for some reason there was no trash can. The shower was ok but tub was too small. Also did everything with expedia and that was fine.

The room was disgusting. Multiple stains on bed and floor. No microwave or fridge. Could smell the moldy shower from my bed. Obviously tried to hide said mold by painting the inside of the shower. Customer service was rude and unpleasant. When I left I accidentally left a ring in the room I called a few hours later they said they found it and would hold it. When I came to get it the woman argued with me because my mother had paid for the room and her name was on the bill and wasn't trying to give me my ring. Finally got it. 10/10 wouldn't recommend. I've been to la Quinta inns before they were a lot nicer. This one needs massive improvement. I was afraid to even let my dog walk on the floor.

It was a bit difficult to find entrance. The guard was very nice, grounds were clean, rooms smelled nice and were very clean. Only issue I encountered was the internet price was not the price I was charged and they tried to give our room to 2 other guests. My daughter was so scared to stay that we had to leave.

This place was gross! My toilet did not flush. The bottom Of the tub was black. I had to stand on a towel. The smile detector was laying on the dresser behind the television. My toilet was not clean. I will Not stay at this hotel ever again.

We made a late decision to visit Tuscaloosa, leaving us no options but to book a room at La Quinta. They increased the rate by $435 because of the football game. Water backed up in both the sink and the bathtub. The plastic molding was peeling off of the walls. To the credit of the manager she reduced the rate from $499 to $242 due to the problems in the room. Today you can book the same room for $65.

We booked two rooms. They were next to each other. Which was great! The ladies at the front desk were friendly and nice. So this isn't the best side of town I'm assuming. But our stay was ok. We weren't bothered. The rooms were nice and clean. Didn't smell of pets or smoke. First thing I do is check for bed bugs! Everything was clear! Which is awesome! I recommend this place. I don't know why others left a bad review. This place didn't cost much. And for what we paid. We were happy with it. It was just one night and our dog was happy too!
