This hotel is located close to Taksim Square, about a 4 minute walk. The hotel is on 5 floors with an efficient lift available. The stairs are a spiral staircase. The lobby area is quite small as is the outside area at the front. The room I had was a good size, clean with a fridge & kettle, safe & hairdryer in. The shower was good and the bed & pillows very comfortable.
The staff were very helpful and gave guests help whenever required.
There are breakfast restaurants all around and so I did not use the hotels facilities. Evening restaurants are numerous and close by.
The noise level was a little high but Istanbul is a very busy city so I guess is to be expected.
All in all, this is a great hotel for a short stay visit to Istanbul.
Our choice of the Away Suites was based on location and the many excellent reviews that we had read. The location could not be better, a quiet side street just 2 minutes from Taksim Square and Istiklal Street but without the noise and hustle & bustle of this 24 hour city. It’s also just a ten minute walk down to Kabatas ferry and tram stations. There is also a funicular running up and down from Taksim if you don’t fancy the steep climb back again.
We had a deluxe room which was well equipped with a small kitchen area including a fridge and electric stove. There are a couple of small supermarkets just across the road which proved to be very handy as we didn’t always want to eat out. The bathroom was fine with fresh towels provided each day and bed linen was also changed every other day. Cleanliness is always very important and we certainly had no complaints in this respect.
There is a TV, but with no English language channels, so we were glad that we had brought a Firestick which enabled us to watch Netflix etc. And catch up with the news. The Wi-Fi signal was very good and allowed us to watch movies uninterrupted.
There is a small elevator just big enough for two people or one person and a suitcase.
We were given a key to the outside door which is locked at night although the lobby is staffed 24 hours a day so we always felt safe.
The staff were always friendly and very helpful, and we often stopped for a quick chat with Mr. Orhan, Genghis and Ali the night porter.

The staff were very attentive from check-in to check-out. Despite arriving late, they gave us a very warm welcome. The cleanliness standards are very high. It's ideal for those who want to stay just 2-3 minutes from Taksim Square.
