Tamara Suite Hotel

The rooms were very gross. The shower was an absolute horror, rust everywhere, mold on the ceiling. There is no door just half open shower so water gets everywhere. To compensate they give you slippers that are made out of napkins. I have had foot masks thicker than these slippers. Old and broken furniture, dirty walls. Staff knocked on our door multiple times at 12:30pm for an extra blanket we didnt ask for and then knocked to take it back because he messed up the room. There were 20 more knocks the next morning at 6:30 AM! They woke me up and would not stop knocking? Surely after the 10th knock you need to stop, no? And not knock at all at 6:30 in the damn morning? I didnt open and when I told the girl at reception she shrugged and looked confused. Also note — the hotel is on a crazy narrow street — park nearby dont go directly in front of the hotel if your hand break is bad. Also terrible insulation the windows dont close well enough and cold comes through … The breakfast was good and the staff at the reception is very friendly.

Our family of five had a genuinely pleasant stay at Tamara Residence Hotel. We initially booked an economic room, which felt quite tight—the beds were small and the space was limited—but the staff handled the situation very kindly and upgraded us to a more comfortable room at no extra cost. That gesture made a big difference for us.
The rooms were clean, simple, and suitable, especially for travelers on a budget. The beds were comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep, and we had no issues resting after long days out. The cleaning staff were especially sweet and helpful, always respectful and attentive to our needs.
Breakfast was decent and satisfying, particularly considering the price range. One thing to note is that the hotel does not provide drinking water, so we had to purchase our own and bring it back with us.
Overall, we had a smooth and comfortable experience, which isn’t always guaranteed in Istanbul. For Arab or Muslim families looking for an affordable and respectful place to stay, I would recommend Tamara Residence Hotel.

We arrived at Tamara Residence as walk-in guests — a family of six, with four adults and two children. The manager on duty (I didn’t catch his name, but he wears spectacles) was incredibly welcoming and offered us a fantastic rate, even better than what we had seen online.
We stayed six nights before heading to Cappadocia for three nights, and he kindly stored our luggage during that time. We returned for another four nights at the end of our trip.
The hotel is wonderfully located — literally on Taksim Square — making it super convenient for food, drinks, taxis, and exploring the area. The rooms are compact, which worked fine for two adults and two children, and everything was spotlessly clean.
Overall, the staff were extremely accommodating, the location is unbeatable, and it was a truly wonderful stay. I will definitely stay at Tamara Residence again!
