Review of Akkan Beach Hotel 3*

Stayed 7 nights at the hotel, chosen because of its rating on Booking and Google. I now really wonder if these ratings have any value: that was the worst hotel I've ever known. We rented a family room, which appeared to be in the backside building (not the one directly facing the pool). It seems the room was renovated not so long ago, but materials and equipment are just terrible. — Out of two air conditioning units, one was out-of-service (immediatly reported to the reception, but nothing was done in 7 days) and the other was so noisy it was just impossible to sleep when it was on. — Room was really dirty when we checked in (under the bed, behind furniture…) and no cleaning at all was done during our 7 day-stay. — Bed linings was changed every 3 days only. — The balcony door couldn't be locked (broken) : we had to take our valuable stuff with us at the beach… — One of the windows was kept closed… with scotch tape. — The shower room was so small that we couldn't even find a place to keep our small toiletries bag there. And don't expect to fit more than one person in, should you plan to brush your teeth at the same time (which happens in a family room…). — The hotel swimming pool, which looks big and nice on the pictures, is actually very small. Besides, it is terribly dirty. I had to stop my 6 yo son diving to bring back some stuff he found at the bottom — tissues, plastic bags… You can nearly see the pool floor, as water filtering seems to be quite ineffective (judging by the number of other-people-hair that you find stuck to your skin when you get out of water). — Staff is inequally friendly. Unfortunately, the only one able to speak english is not in the friendly list. His main concern seems to get full payment of the stay at check-in. — Locals didn't understand why the hell we chose that hotel: they all knew it has a bad reputation. So… you should DEFINITELY GO go to Turkey and Bodrum, which is a wonderfull place with lovely people. And you should definitely find another hotel to live a 100% positive experience. :)
