The worst hotel I’ve seen in my life, one old guy in the reception is really impolite, I still remember how one guest was pushed and insulted in Front of us by that old guy because he forgot to give him the key at 12 am and was asked to pay 30 Dollars then all his luggage was taken because he doesn’t have money to pay I felt like I was in miserable street : pushing, insulting, abusing … and before that guest there was another girl and the same guy asked her to pay only 15 dollars! Anyway I’ll never ever come back to that hotel again, I’m so disappointed.

My friend was there with his wife and got a very bad customer experience, the guy in the reception is so rude and he is not professional at all.

When we arrived at the Royal Hotel on Monday in Istanbul, we suffered a shock. The hotel was the purest catastrophe. The room was handed to us uncleanly. The tram, metro and Marmaray are less than 5 minutes from the hotel.

You can also walk a lot if you want.

I've been to this hotel from July 26 to 30 of the year 2015, a disaster. I travel alone and paid, as well as the plus for traveling alone, more than 100 euros for the improvement of the hotel and I've never been to a hotel worse and I've traveled enough. The hotel's location was great; Right next to the tram and only about 2 miles from Sultanahmet District. They were also kind and upgraded our room so we could share a bed on our honeymoon. The rooms were on the run down side. The first room's toilet barely flushed. The paint was chipping on the walls and everything seemed tired. The second room was better. But, we accidentally left a piece of art in our room when we checked out. We immediacy called the hotel from the airport (on our way home) and asked them to hole it for us. We wanted it shipped (we would have paid, of course). But, they could not understand us with the language barrier (we speak only English unfortunately). We called a few times in hopes that the beautiful painting we bought was not thrown away, but they never seemed to understand or find it. When I returned home I emailed about and sent a picture of the container it was in, but they even bothered to respond to my email. Silence. I had heard that Turkey has amazing customer service, but I was quite sad that they didn't bother to take us seriously after paying and staying for three nights. It was out honeymoon and the time spent in Turkey is marred by the fact that we lost art and thus wasted money. I would not be complaining if they had simply returned my email or tried to look for the art, but they have just ignored us blatantly. If we ever return to Turkey we will not stay here.
