Review of Room Mate Emir 4*

If you want your possessions stolen, rude staff & a bad breakfast — stay here. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and stay somewhere else where you might find some peace of mind about your possessions & be treated with more respectful & better quality service. Unfortunately, I cannot in good faith recommend staying at Room Mate Emir Istanbul due to the extremely poor quality of service & theft of my belongings. During our 1st of 4 nights in the hotel, a pair of expensive s…unglasses were stolen & instead of taking the issue seriously, the hotel staff decided that it was just my 'opinion' that my glasses were in the hotel & they couldn't do anything. (Sadly, I had just bought these pair of glasses & very consciously placed them in my bag to grab them before we explored the city for the day. Upon my return after breakfast, the glasses were gone). The hotel responded very rudely & poorly to this issue that I raised immediately. They didn't do or offer anything to us for this incident as I continued to follow up on 2x day/over four days. The staff was not proactive in approaching me to deal with the issue and instead always waited for me to ask for an update on the situation. They were also dismissive and rude, which is not the kind of service you expect. Moreover, the breakfast here is horrible. Neither the juices, coffee nor the croissants is fresh and the only hot option are eggs. Otherwise, very sub-standard breakfast options with limited fresh options of substance (fruit selection, breads, etc. ) — — a breakfast so sub-standard that despite staying for 4 breakfasts, I did not return for breakfast after my first one. Better to go eat somewhere else.
