Great location. However everything else is horrific. 1. Shower wasn’t clean from guest before, hair everywhere 2. Brown stains on wall 3. Dust covered all over mirror, lamp and telephone 4. Woke up in the middle of the night itching 5. Found bed bugs all over 6. Sheets were stained yellow spots with a hint of brown 7. Mold in bathroom inbetween shower and toilet Overall, this hotel is a health hazard. Please stay away if you care about your health.

Having read some reviews about the area in which this hotel is located, I was a bit apprehensive about staying at Ottoman Palace. I needn't have worried. The hotel is just a stone's throw away from the Taxim square and the main shopping areas, and there is easy access to the Metro, buses and taxis. While the surrounding buildings were a bit run-down (when you compare with inside), there was nothing unsafe about the area and we were made to feel exceptionally welcome. The staff were brilliant, very friendly, and with a good standard of English. There was nothing they wouldn't do to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The staff was particularly friendly and was always on hand to deliver coffee or a snack directly to our room or to our table in the on-site coffee lounge. The hotel was kept immaculately clean, the rooms were nicely decorated and came with a large bathroom and a balcony. New towels and bedding were supplied every day and the buffet breakfast was delicious. This is by far one of the best value hotels in Istanbul and I would be delighted to stay there again.
