I made a booking and then a day later we had a family emergency, one of the kids felt very sick and we needed to take her to the hospital and ended up delaying our flight, I called the hotel to cancel the booking or even change the date and they said no even though the booking was made 2 weeks in advance, they have 0 compassion. So keep that in mind, if u make a booking with this hotel and someone dies and you dont go they will still take your money,, if your cool with that go ahead and book with them.

Its has such a really beautiful view! and I am gluten free and I told them I am and they got me gluten free bread at the breakfast and when it was ramadan they had sohor if u wanted! Its a really fancy place to stay at and also has such tasty food and nice service. While in rainy days they would offer u an umbrella to borrow for free and one day I wasnt feeling fine and the server from the restaurant asked me "are u feeling sick? " I answered yes she said "is it ur stomach? " And I said yes she told me "dont worry I am gonna get u something that would make u feel better" and got me a lemon tea that made me feel better also when I asked the man in the reception if there is close hospitals and he told me about 3 and told me that the first one was cheep and the second one was okay and the third one was expensive and ordered me a taxi to get me to the hospital. Its a really nice and comforting place to visit I hope u go there and thank u.

Great place to stay in Istanbul. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They will do as much as they can to help and make your stay easy. Breakfast is great with variety of options and delicious food. Will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Very satisfied with every single details of the hotel. The location was perfect almost near everywhere by walking. Their staff specially the ones in the reception desk were so kind and friendly besides knows many languages which make your stay more easier. The rooms were so clean everyday. They have an amazing breakfast buffet in the top floor of the hotel with super great view of the city! Thank you for the amazing stay there.

Close to Halic underground and Karakoy tram. A neat little hotel with beautiful views from the 10th floor restaurant. Rooms can be a little dated, but only a little. Very satisfied over all! Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

For a city hotel just awesome. We were there 4 nights and I really can't say anything bad. Staff perfect, room great, breakfast super delicious. The roof terrace, where you can have breakfast, is just awesome. Super view. The location of the hotel is top. One was in town in 15-20 minutes, could go out to eat or shop. Istanbul is simply one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Die Standard zimmer sind zu klein. Klima Anlage funktioniert nur halb. Fenster kann man nicht komplett öffnen und lüften da nur eine Seite des Zimmers Fenster hat. Liegt direkt an einer belebten Strasse. Muss man selber wissen. Das einzige gute daran es liegt zentral.

Very good reception ans restaurant. I really recommend to take rooms over 7th floor.

Great breakfast with lots of options. Very polite and helpful staff. When I thought I left my glasses in breakfast room they offered to check in camera. Then I realised I was carrying them in my bag all day. (very expansive ones). Hotel is very clean, the fridge full of drinks-water, beer, cola, fanta and snaks. They serving lunch and dinner I didn't try. From hotel to Old Town is not so far. I was walking through Gallatta Bridge. It took me 35min to Hippodrome (close to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia etc. )

I want to thank you for the super stay at your hotel for the 5 up to 9 march. You have a super and very proffecional personnel. Especilly we want to thank people working at the reception as imprahim and ali celik. They help us to feel very comfortable during our stay and help us the most. I will suggest your hotel to any friend of us is planning to visit your excellent city in the near future. Keep going on that way and I beleieve you will be best. Greetings from greece.

Very good location in central Istanbul reachable from all places Metro station near possibilities with ferry to operate hotel highly recommended price very clean friendly reception.

We spent our Silver Wedding at the Golden City Hotel! It was unforgettable for us.

Its the worst hotel which I have ever stay in. Noisy, small, with no options, disaster breakfast. All their photos in internet are photoshop. Don’t believe them. Avoid it. Stufs are ok but they cant speak English well and also they don’t understand what you say. And you will be alone with your problems.

Nice compact hotel. View is very nice & reception person was very cooperative & gave 7th floor. Food was tasty.

AVOID IT! This hotel is not a 4-star hotel. It barely qualifies for a 2-3 star rating. The hotel is in a very noisy area and you feel as if you are staying on the street. The rooms are much smaller than they are shown, and their square footage as described by the hotel is misleading. The photos they showed for the sea view rooms and panaromic rooms are "photoshop". The hotel does not offer any service. Be careful as the hotel will change the room you booked for another room without telling you, and the staff is not very helpful. We were totally disappointed and left the hotel after 10-hour stay to another hotel. Don't go there, avoid it.

The only two good things about this hotel are the breakfast and great view restaurant, the rooms are very small, smaller than they semm in the picture, is located in a crowded place, yes its near to metro and taksim but you will not enjoy your walking there…

This Hotel is easy to book awesome clean very very friendly staff and enjoy.

The location is not safe in the evening, you are tracked and quapped by strangers. That there is no supermarket or other nearby, has also bothered us. Otherwise, the metro is just around the corner and the Karaköy tram and bus is only a few meters. The room was mega small and is not recommended with house dust allergy — old carpets. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The most beautiful thing about the hotel is the roof terrace. Every morning there is a rich breakfast with great views!

The hotel is located in a central location, not far from the Eminonu district. The staff is very friendly and the rooms have always been clean. The breakfast buffet is also top notch! I was very pleased.

Very nice staff. Everything was almost perfect, but they don't have kettle in rooms for tea or coffee preparing.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, very centrally located. Ideal for a city break, as great transport links to Metro, Tramway & Bus. Rooms are not very large, but enough if you just want to sleep here. Breakfast is good, it is eaten on the largely covered roof terrace. You have a great view of Istanbul. By day & by night. The main attractions within walking distance. There is a point deduction for the noisy street outside the door.

With the Golden City Hotel, you're doing everything right. I've been to some hotels in istanbul the Golden City hotel is my favorite in price than the other two hotels with the Hilton Doubletree in Moda and the Radisson.
Friendly, Sauber, Beautiful Room The Mirror the Hotel Again.
I now have the most beautiful room on the 9th floor with optimal views of the Bosphorus. The hotel is located in Karaköy and is very centrally located to Eminönü on foot 7-8 minutes, Kadiköy is 20 minutes away by ferry to the ferry's walk is 2 minutes away. Taksim Square is about a 15-minute walk away, with plenty to visit in the shopping street.

Great atmosphere, clean rooms, good staff and everything super accessible.

Friendly staff, great restaurant, handy location, great value for money. One night had a noisy rooting couple (twice) followed by an equally loud fight. Young love ay.

This hotel makes you feel like a family friend. They bend over backwords to accomodate your requests. Besides it is a 15 minute walk across the bridge to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and all the attractions.

Standard rooms are pretty small by American standard. But you will not regret your stay at this place, the rooftop view makes up for it.

Very nice staff, everything perfect…

A nice Hotel close to the river, just a five to 10 minute walk but away from most sights. The room was spacious with lots of windows. There where enough facilities like tea and coffee in the room, but when it came to bedtime it was quite noisy from the outside. The breakfast was to a normal standard.

I reviewed this hotel on Expedia, and chose to review it here as well. I just returned from a 6 night stay there. The staff, including manager Ali Çelik, is helpful and friendly. They will lend you an umbrella and help flag a taxi. They speak English and are willing to help with tickets (excursions or events) and directions as well as suggestions for places to see. My room had a stunning view of old town across the water, a controllable heating/AC system, a room safe, minibar, slippers and a firm bed. Very clean. Daily newspaper comes under the door. The toilet has a bidet feature operated from a faucet on the wall. It's pleasant to be offered Turkish tea and cookies in the lobby floor bar, late in the afternoon, and to browse the collection of books and magazines there, some in English. The roof top restaurant is medium-priced (as was the room), and commands a spectacular view of Istanbul across the Golden Horn. Lovely food, served with extra touches. The included breakfast is a large spread of hot sausages, eggs, and vegetables; cold cheeses, meats, olives, salads, and halvah; dried, sauced and fresh fruits; many bread/pastry choices, and more. The location is an easy walk to the Galata bridge and the Karakoy tramway, with nearby fish markets for simple meals by the water. The street contains a busy string of hardware shops, some graffiti, and no sense of danger walking home at night as an older woman traveling solo.

Very friendly reception and services. Very good location and very nice views of all attractions. Only to recommend.
