Perfect little island. Snorkeling is great. Staff are friendly and helpful. One star off for pricey food.

It was such a lovely place, friendly workers :) me and my two friends enjoys it very much swimming, snorkeling and tour around the bush. Best place for relaxing :) :) Ofa atu.

The reviews we read were certainly on the money. Fafa Island is a great place for a relaxing getaway. From the moment we were collected at the airport — we felt totally looked after. Didn't have to carry our bags which were delivered to our fale after arrival. Our fale — Huni — on the sheltered side of the island was perfect. Very private and seldom did we ever notice other guests on the island except when we visited the bar/restaurant. As a same sex couple we were a little concerned about Tonga as its laws are not very liberal. However — we'd recommend Fafa Island as a place to feel at home. The dinner meals were very nice — and the chef was obliging when we made special requests. As other reviewers have noted the prices are not cheap, so you might like to take some essentials with you like mixes for your duty free liquor, some breakfast cereal and UHT milk, and maybe day snacks. There are no cooking facilities available to guests and int he morning a thermos of hot water is delivered to each fale. The staff were generally very friendly — particularly the Fijian ones — and we appreciated the attentive management. Fafa Island is a place to relax — and it is a primary reason for going there. If you want adventure holiday — best try somewhere else. Despite unseasonable weather — we never felt room bound — being able to make the most of the complementary library and games available to guests.

Beautiful, relaxing island resort.

My wife and I stayed at Fafa for a week in May 2015 in the sunset fale. It was absolutely wonderful. Snorkeling day trips great with lots of good under water photos. Did some kayak fishing for GTs. Food excellent and staff friendly. Day trips to "mainland" worth a half day or two, but the island is magic. We're coming back next year.

Paradise place. Amazing ever.

We didn't stay at this resort; only came here for a day trip. That said, the beach is beautiful, water is clear, and sand is finely grained. Had a game of beach volleyball, kayaked a bit to enjoy the sea, and just chilled out for a large part of the afternoon. Worth a visit if you ever visit Tonga.

Relaxing… a real get away. Nothing to do but enjoy the serenity. Food was very good, with good selections everyday and every meal time. Service was very good all day if we needed anything it was there for us. Lack of a warf to get on and off the boat to and from the island was not a problem… added to the experience. Being able to walk around the whole island in about 20mins was good fun. They provide snorkel gear, volley ball, kayaks, and all the tea and coffee you might want all week. Villi the bar manager has been there forever and has a neat sense of humour. I recommend a visit. The down side… there was having to come home after a week in our own little paradise.

Food was lovely, service was excellent at meal times, pretty much non existant all other times, fale was awesome and loved the outdoor shower. Big down side for me was the lack of a warf when you arrive and leave, the system they have in place is totally inadequate.
