Pro: Very accommodating staff and scenic speed boat ride! Cool toiletries provided in hotel bathroom. Con: -The beach is not as pretty as my expectation. Water is not crystal blue color and clear. Yet the sand is quite smooth and clean. — Very remote location which involves long and rough road ride if you arrive from the main ferry terminal on the island.

Great hotel in the area with access to the beach!

Five star hotels are like sand by the sea.
But the Anantara Hotel on Koh Phangan is one of the best my wife and I have visited.
Starting with the very friendly reception, walking tour and refreshing drink, we were able to visit the rooms first and then choose one.
(We hadn't booked a room in advance, we wanted the hotel complex etc. First see, then decide) Our room had a quiet location with its own small pool to be able to relax in its small and beautiful jungle kingdom.
Each room also has the associated beach loungers, right on the beach with parasol.
Service is friendly and comes at regular intervals to order something. Unfortunately, the food in the hotel tends more in the west direction (pizza, burgers, etc. ), but breakfast is incredibly extensive and very tasty, as fresh and individually prepared to order.
There are so many more positive points, so we will certainly come by again.

Very nice hotel, had the pool Villa which was always cold because it's shaded from the sun, breakfast was also nice, but not much in the area.

Awesome hotel that I can only recommend. Stuff is very friendly and trying to fulfill all your request. The rooms are big and have beautiful views. Breakfast is exceptional and the two restaurants have a are really good quality. The prices are not cheap but you get quality and know what you are paying for. Highly recommended for families bad well.

Great hotel. Excellent service. There is a Russian staff at the reception. Vseivilly with small swimming pools. The grounds are well maintained, very beautiful. All bungalows/villas with pleasant private areas. Nearby there is not a big settlement. There's a place to go. The beach is Sandy. Umbrellas, sun loungers, mattresses, beach towel and bag for free. Beach Service.

The hotel is very far from the Haad rin, it’s about 40 min drive It’d full of jungle trees so the resort is full of mosquitos, it’s impossible to sleep or to be there at all! There are frogs jumping from the vegetation At the first day we asked to leave and we receive a despise treatment. Kala, the manager sayed “you are more then welcome to leave” It’s our second time in Thailand, we came to celebrate honeymoon and we never disappointed like this!

Beautiful large rooms with private pools. Easy access to the beach straight from the room. Friendly staff. Beautiful view.

We spent a fabulous holiday at Anantara Rasananda. The whole facility was well Maintained. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

High quality hotel. The staff was very friendly and everyone was playing with the baby all the time. Great place for kids a specially the beach villa rooms. Very clean. Good food. And even the village nearby is nice. Pricey but worth it.

Since the moment we got to the hotel we felt taken care of, the staff is amazing (especially Jenny) and there is nothing they wont do to ensure you have the best stay ever. Our room was great as was the beach, facilities and yummy breakfast. I have no doubt that we will return to this hotel for a second honeymoon.

The hotel is very nice. The staff made our stay great. From the manager to the housekeeper they worked the extra mile to give us a pleasant stay. The hotel infrastructure has one small problem. The cabanas are not private enough. When we arrived at the hotel we booked private dinner and cooking lessons. However, after walking around the beach and town, we found many delicious restaurants that did not make it worth to spend that kind of money at the hotel restaurants. Beach is very nice and clean. Overall, this a good choice to stay.

A 5 star in all areas!

If you look at my other reviews you'll see in the last few years I've been all over Thailand, always staying at the best places. I can. And this is the best place I've ever stayed in Thailand. We were met at the airport in a nice new van (with cold drinks) and driven to the nearby peer to catch the speedboat to the resort. At the peer is a private little beach club where we had to kill an hour before the boat was due to leave, which we had to ourselves. The speedboat was in perfect condition with new safety equipment and a very capable captain. Unfortunately when the wind is from the north east the swell in the bay makes it impossible for the speedboat to come right up to the beach at the resort, so we were dropped at a pier at the other side of the island, where a nice new 4x4 was waiting to drive the 20 minutes to the resort. On that point, in reply to other reviews that complain about the boat being diverted & think it's just the hotel saving money, I'm a boat skipper myself and there's no way I'd bring a speedboat even vaguely close to that beach with an on-shore wind. The hotel should make people aware of this possibility when they book, as it seems to be a regular problem, and less people would complain if forewarned. Upon arrival we were met by Silvia, the delightful front desk manager, who showed us around, settled us in and made sure everything was just as we wanted — right down to making sure the complimentary flip-flops were the right size!

Fantastic resort, very small and intimate. Stylish, cozy and high-quality. Very good and friendly service. The Ocean Pool Villas are superbe.

Beautiful resort, amazing staff, perfect location. Modern with a twist of traditional Thai. Excellent excursions and best recommendations for the area. Very well run.

Five star resort. Beach is good and the place is amazing to relax. Not much else going around the area but the resort is great.

Pro: Lovely gardens, private pool, good massage, in-pool bar Cons: Food was average, sun beds not very comfortable. We had booked a Garden Pool Suite and stayed in Ko Phangan for 4 nights. We were greeted at Ko Samui airport by our travel rep and escorted to the speed boat pier to get to the hotel. The trip was pleasant and on arrival we were helped off the boat, just a little warning, you will get your feet wet. Not a problem, and someone is there to wash the sand off your feet. After a very pleasant check-in, we were shown to our room. It was superb. Huge wooden doors which open onto a private garden area with a private pool. The room consisted of a separate wardrobe area, and a large bathroom with twin sinks. We spent a day just lazing around our private garden area. We loved the privacy it provided. We were exhausted so explained to the lady that we would get some sleep and then had hoped to go to the full moon party. She said they would put on a minibus for guests (I think it was about 1500 baht pp return) which would pick us up from the hotel at 10pm, and return at 3am. It was perfect and safer than trying to get a taxi. The next evening we ate in the hotel which was average. They offer a buffet and an a la carte menu. We opted for the a la carte option as we were given a voucher for dinner. The next evenings we tried local restaurants which were really nice, and cheaper. But you expect hotels to be higher priced than local places, so this didn't bother us too much.

Suuuuper! Staying in one of Ocen pool villa and are more than just excited by our 200 square meters. :-) Thumbs up!

Super service… super Beach and accommodation (had an ocean pool villa) … wir probably felt very.
The only thing that bothered us was that essen… wir had full Board and gabs always the same small buffet for breakfast and for lunch we had a map while but that was very lush…
And the beach you saw getting any stray dogs…
But still we will come back at some point…

On the best beach in Koh Phangan, very nice and quite village, romantic and the resort is a real island paradise with beautifull Villa 10 meters away from the ocean, best for honey mooners. I recommend it to romantic couples if they want to have a real lovely time.

This resort is a slice of heaven on earth. From the moment we arrived until we left, we were impressed at every turn. The staff were so friendly and helpful, our villa was amazing and the service was incredible. We would go back there again and again. Just amazing.

An expensive and flavorless restaurant.

Wonderful experience at a small paradise hotel. Villa are big with a smart planning (dressing for example was appreciated as I always hate to have the luggages in the middle of the room). The setting in front of the beach and inside a superb tropical gardens was appreciated. Service was top quality. If you are looking for a very relaxing atmosphere in paradise that's your location. Advice: to go there as it is a bit far away you should book a private taxi (for 2 it costs 1000THB 1-way but surely you can find 800thb).

Great resort the staff is extremely friendly and always ready to help you. The rooms are really nice and follow all the green standards without compromising with the confort. In terms of the architecture and the use of materials I can say it is very well achieved. The beach is just incredible and it is almost empty do you can have the real romantic experience.

Paradise! This hotel is perfect for a quiet beach getaway. It is far from the 'action' of Koh Phangan (about a 40 minute drive to the main pier or to where the Full Moon parties happen), but it is located right on the beach and BEAUTIFUL. You walk on a bridge over a koi pond to get to the rooms/villas, and some rooms have direct beach access. It is spectacular for views, and had it been sunny would have also been perfect for enjoying the beach and/or pool. The room itself (we had a 'regular' room) was stunning, a good size with a balcony and our own little pool. Within walking distance there are 3-4 restaurants and a massage place, but if you are looking for nightlife, that would be pretty far.
