What an amazing couple of days stay we had here. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to be away from the hustle and bustle. The bungalows are all built into the side of a cliff face and the reception and bar are situated on the beach. The vibe here is chilled and really laid back. It's going to be a shame to have to check out. We decided to stay an extra night and will be coming back next time we visit Thailand. Thank you.

Bungalows NOT dense. There comes the whole jungle to visit one. Food was offset with bugs. Really very unclean. Prices far too expensive. No connection to anything there. Taxis tick one off to get there (500-1500 baht). Food and drink is probably prepared with tap water, would at least explain my severe cholera which I had. Don't go there!

Was in this place in 2016. The room was very… But what I saw in May 2018g plunged me into shock: an unwatched beach, sullen arrogant staff, running houses.

Our bungalow was run down. It smelt moldy. It was not clean and the bed sheet had blood stains. Behind the restaurant there is apparently a scooter workshop which resulted in a smell of petrol and oil in the restaurant and part of the beach.

Extreme overpriced. Bungalow with only little fan. Power off for the main hours. 40€ is just to much for this hut.

Medium Resort with Bungalows right on The Beach.

It's been a few years since I stayed there so I can't vouch for present conditions, but I thought the bungalow were really nice. Clean, cool, and perfectly modeled to the landscape. Very comfortable bed with mosquito netting Wich wasn't needed that I noticed. Staying there was the most enjoyable experience of my life. Great staff. Made great friends can't wait to go back someday. A+ all the way.

One of the best places in Koh Phangnan to stay. Haad Than Sadet is one of the, if not the most, quiet beaches on the island. The waters of the beach drop off pretty quickly, so this is one of the better swimming beaches with a neighbouring secluded beach if you want a shallower and finer sand beach. Mai Pen Rai offers a few great options for accommodation. We chose Room 43 on the left side of the beach with a great view overlooking the beach. The room was very roomy, with windows on most sides, a king size 4 poster bed with a mosquito net that draped all the way to the floor. Although the room had a fan, we never used it as there is a window directly over the head of the bed so that you can sleep with sea breezes keeping you cool. The bathroom was like a palace in itself, beautifully laid out and built into the rocks of the cliffside. The restaurant allows you to bill your room and has a great selection of choices with some great house specials to enjoy. Very reasonably priced considering it's apparent remoteness, and a very nice selection of juices, shakes, cocktails and more. Many tour operators stop here throughout the days, letting out people to explore the beach or head up to the Than Sadet Waterfalls, including Orion Tours and also the Koh Samui ferry from Thong Nai Pan stops here on it's way, so you can board/disembark here. This is my Number one choice for Relaxation!

Amazing location — 2 beaches next to this very relaxed hotel — friendly and nice restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast-lunch-dinner with your feet in the sands while your kids use the swings. The facilities are quite rustic so a perfect hotel for adventure lovers.

I like this place, good personnal. This hotel with bungalow a front of beach has a good restaurant. Many meal and drink. Calm, confortable place. Love it. New road, easier for come. Take a light Enjoy life ✌

Had a great time… staff are beautiful. I travelled over with a group for a friends 50th. Great place to unwind and relax. Pen and par are amazing. Gracious people and that makes the stay complete.

I wish I could take the sounds of Mai Pen Rai home with me. It is a unique place in Thailand perfect for a chilled out getaway. The new road makes it less of an adventure to get there, but it remains very natural. Enough has been said about the rock bungalows I have been trying to keep secret, so… enough said. No party bars. Just relax without breaking the bank.

I have never seen any beach as majestic as this. But sadly, I need the civilization — can't live without electricity and internet. So I had a short stay instead. You might like it.

Amazing location. Definitely recommendable to people who appreciate not at the most partyish location, but still everything is there. Boats go to had rin and pick up taxis to thongsala. Giant gekkos walking around on the cliffs, but harmless. No 2 mai pen Rai restaurant is the best, exciting food and atmosphere. And not as full as no 2
