Only went to the bar right at the beach. Fantastic place to watch sunset! With a cocktail or for dinner. They also offer breakfast, lunch, snacks or just drinks (incl. Cocktails). Mainly Thai food but also sandwiches, steaks, burger. Have Wi-Fi. Perfect place for the whole family or a couple to enjoy the sunset, with a very chilled atmosphere and friendly people.

It's a nice place. Lots of greenery. The bungalows are clean, fully match the photo, cleaning every day — updated 2 bottles of water. Next to the "ring" road, far from the center and large beaches.
The beach is clean, pleasant, with light large sand. There is a cafeteria at the hotel — the prices are inflated, the kitchen is mediocre. The view is beautiful.
There is almost no entrance to the water, very shallow and a huge number of stones! Bathed once, scratched his legs and went to another beach.

We were staying at Banyan Villas Coconut Paradise just 50m away, and visited regularly for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Music night was also good. Visit them and say hi to Nin, Scruffy and Pepsi the beach dogs that hang around.

Review for the restaurant only as I was staying at the bungalows down the way. The food here is pretty good! Got the chicken wings a couple of times (no sauce, the way I like them) and some kind of basil and meat dish with jalapeños. Spicy AF and delicious. More importantly, I'm standing here right now at almost 9pm local time (came in for more chicken wings) and the girl who took my order yelled out to the chef. The chef (an adorable Thai woman) came out and has been happily dancing while frying the wings for the last few minutes. Great way to start the end of the night.

Spent 9 nights at this wonderful relaxed resort! It’s literally on the beach and has wonderful sunset views. The staff are friendly and helpful and speak great English. We had to move bungalows a twice due to our poor planning/lack of/a very noisy neighbor and they were more than happy to accommodate. Rooms are cleaned daily and free water is given with the cleaning. We did a week fitness camp at FitKoh and this was a great option for us as we were able to walk via the beach to the gym every day! Highly recommend!

We stumbled across By Beach 5 years ago and knew we had to get married there. James, Bow and Tak co-ordinated everything with us via email: the flowers to my colour scheme; decoration; hair and make-up; rooms for us and our guest for the week; food and drink; jazz musicians; and fire dancers for entertainment. I could never imagine that it would be like the photos but it was so much better. The staff were as excited as us and we enjoyed our stay there as they made us feel so welcome. Song and Bang in particular spoke very good English and sorted any problems we had. All the food on the menu was freshly prepared and couldn't be faulted. They helped us out with organising taxis so we could go out in the evening — not easy for a party of 12. The only problem we had was our taxi not turning up at 5:30am for our airport pick up but Tak arranged for a refund from the taxi company when we got home — this to me is someone going out of their way to help. The rooms are basic but more than adequate for a base. They were cleaned everyday and had the extras of beach towels, a fridge (on request) and 2 bottles of water each day. We love it and hope to be back again some day to this little patch of paradise.

We stayed next but we came to eat at the restaurant, delicious : staff very caring, open kitchen, fresh fruit cocktail… A tip take the rice in the pineapple, a pancake pineapple with honey!

Wow. This place is Great. Laid back and low key. Great place to go to get away from all the other stuff on the island. The restaurant and bar is amazing and priced very reasonably. And the staff is excellent, very accommodating, sweet and kind. I definitely will be coming back.

It is in a quiet location, next to the sea. And here in the hotel bedbugs live in bungalows! Took two bungalows not touching each other, both had bedbugs that live in the old lower Mastrasah! We stayed in this hotel for a week in the morning.

Good location — direct on the beach, but also a few minutes walk to some small shops, scooter rentals or restaurants. It also has a very nice own restaurant on the beach with a spectacular view and tasty dishes.

Quite expensive restaurant, room kept very simple, sanitary situation is more fun with the shower right next to the toilet without some form of splash protection. 3 times a week live music and real cute to relax, but also very off the shot. So you should be able to ride scooters.

Keep your expectations in check and you will have a pleasant stay. I'd describe my room as a studio style beach shack. It has AC, and a mini fridge for creature comforts. The furnishings are more Thai style (things are all on the floor as opposed to raised up). But you are practically on the beach, and you will probably want to spend your time out as close to the water as possible. The restaurant on site caters more to Westerners. The Thai dishes are more similar to Thai resturaunts in the US, and the western style food is as close as they can manage with local ingredients. The bar is also servicable with a selection of local Thai beers, Henekin as an import, and a number of wines from Australia. They have a small selection of cocktails that go well with the beach setting. The whole think is charming in a well worn, rustic island sort of way. For the beach itself, you will want to bring water shoes. The water is pretty shallow for a further distance than you might expect. The bottom is also rocky and there is a lot of coral. This means there are a lot of pebbles and bits of coral both on the beach and in clear parts of the water that may be uncomfortable to walk on. The big rocks and coral further out can be painful if you are not careful. Note that the seaweed likes the rocky bottom so avoid the dark patches of water to find a smoother, more sandy bottom. Would I stay here again? If I was on a budget, yes I would.

By Beach Resort is a perfect place if you want to relax with lovely nature, nice beach, very friendly staff and delicious food If we go to Koh Samui again we will for sure book this place again.

Good location, some rooms are nice but the wall is quite thin. The restaurant is a bit expensive.

Love the serenity and peaceful calm that envelops this place. Beautifully clean, staff are very friendly and the food is great. So glad to be spending a week here.

Great place to escape the party side of samui. Quite, decent rooms, the place is surrounded by trees. They have their own restaurant and they serve delicious meals. Price is fair. You also have a great view of the long beach, but the sand in not as soft as chaweng beach and the sea is not desirable to swim, its has loads so stones, some are sharp. They advertise a pingpong table on their website, but currently theres none.

Quiet, right on the beach, great food and excellent staff what more is there to say? Koh Samui is a large island so transport is needed but no where is very far from this location. We had a child with us and as the restaurant shut at 10 that was ideal. Loved it.

Four stars coz there arent ac in all the rooms and that allows tiny insects to roam around the room.

This place is amazing I totally recommend it. Staff is so nice. Is a calm and relax place. The restaurant is right next to the shore/beach you can breath peace here. Food is delicious.

Apartments very nice and clean for the cheap price. They also have a nice restaurant with very tasty food. Here you can rent a motorbike for 250 Bath. All the personal is very friendly. It is a not very crowded area, so perfect for holidays. I only can recommend the place.

Very pretty, not expensive, good food and beach.

Only to recommend! We were there from late August to early September. The bungalows are very clean, you get Beach and bath towels provided. (no extra charge). The location of the by Beach Resort is directly on the quiet sandy beach with views of Koh Phangan. I would call the restaurant average. (typical Thai dishes mixed with European Burger dishes). (-) Only drawback is not always attentive service at the beach bar and the music repeating time and again that one can really go on the spirit. Everything in the all we would come back here.

Unbeatable value, awesome staff, beautiful and quiet beach. Highly recommended.
