Review of Railay Bay Resort & Spa-SHA Extra Plus 4*

“Horrible and traumatic stay at "Railay Bay Resort & Spa"” I would never recommend this hotel because the terrible experience I had recently had in it. I had an accident in the bath of our bedroom. I slipped in the bath and broke a glass window (placed next to the bath) with my right elbow suffering from really serious wounds in my right-arm for which I needed surgery (4 wounds with 45 stitches in total, internal and external) and hospitalization for one day. I have been really lucky because it was for less than 1 mm that I have not lost the mobility of my right hand (see attached picture). After suffering this accident, the hotel staff, especially the manager, was so rude with us. The manager even did not ask me about my health and he only wanted me to pay for the broken window and also for the time they cannot book the room. They did not compensate us for such accident that occurred in their facilities and even he said they do not have insurance for such things. So, I had to pay all the medical expenses on my own. I have denounced them to the police in our back to Bangkok, even when I know that it will be really difficult to get something from them. But also, they are currently (July 2017) under refurbishment of some of their facilities (like the lobby) with all the guests walking around with many potential places where accidents can happen (see attached pictures). So, with this review I would like publicly to denounce this hotel and avoid that anyone else can suffer such terrible experience I did last week. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone with such type of rude people who does not care about their guests.
