Ok, negative points first: the beach in font of the hotel is rubbish and there's no real village centre in easy walking distance. However there's a busy road at the back of the hotel (on to which some of the room doors open) and heavy lorries going to and from the piers at the front side of the hotel so despite being isolated it's not all that quiet. However, the rooms are nice, the building is charming, and the swimming pool absolutely lovely. Some of the lower floor rooms open directly onto the swimming pool. The facilities are good; there's a little children's play area, a fitness centre, sauna/steam room and "library". The staff are very friendly and there's always at least one person around who speaks very good English. They are a bit pushy about selling services and excursions though. The in room minibar is a bit noisy too when cooling. Wi-Fi works well. With regards to nearby amenities, there's an amazing restaurant just where the lane turns off the main road (Lante Oi — it's the first one you get to before the See the Sea) and the nearest village is a 20 minute walk up the beach. There is a small convenience shop opposite the restaurant next to the hotel and one plus scooter hire next to the hotel as you exit the drive. The hotel organises a shuttle bus in the afternoon/evening to Ao Nang but it's difficult to flag a taxi from the hotel if you want to go out at other times. Overall I think we'd have preferred to be a little bit further down the beach at the Sofitel or White Sands, if only for the nicer beach.
