Very nice hotel located right on the beach.
We booked a beautiful beach bungalow.
Room very clean, the hit are these outdoor showers. We just showered outside, a treat.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
In the room there was drinking water free at will, a Nespesso machine with free capsules was also available.
On Tuesday evenings there was always a come together with free cremant, wine, finger food.
Very rich breakfast, which was not on the buffet, you could come from the kitchen.
Highly recommended.
We will definitely be back.

Very good hospitality and service. Happy faces and greetings everywhere. Stay 2 nights with free airport pickup (from Krabi airport). Chef recommended menus were awesome.
Outdoor Infinity pool provided Jacuzzi (water jet stream) we tried to relieve back and thigh stiffness, that worked very well.

My husband and I had massages at Layana recently. We loved them. They have several types and each can be gentle, medium or strong. Lovely staff and very professional. You will love it!

I have visited the Layana for drinks at sunset before and I have had a lovely time. However on this occasion, I stopped by during the day for a quick drink and the service was terrible! I was the only person there and there were 6/7members of staff. I had to ask several times for the drinks menu and then ask several more times to place my order. Then wait an incredibly long time for my drink. However, my bill that I didn't ask for came quickly and before the drink! I will not come back here again. I am not staying at this hotel so I can only comment on the bar service. Maybe that is why it was so bad!

If you want authentic Thai food, get out of the resort. There are better options elsewhere on the island. The staff members are friendly and extremely accommodating but then again that's every Thai person in the service industry. The GM was nice enough to ask for feedback on a more personal level. We came yesterday for our honeymoon. Despite the terrible stormy weather, we think this place is incredible. Best hotel resort we’ve ever been in with the nicest staff. The food is pure heaven! 5 nights left.

Tourist trap. In no way is this a 5* resort bar the service. The rooms are well appointed, but dated and in need of TLC. The resort itself is fine, but well below what I would class as 5* and certainly does not justify the price tag. Please, do not order from the bar menu… Everything is deep fried and served with fries, which taste of the 1000x dishes cooked before it due to the fact the oil clearly hasn't been changed in years. This establishment is like Brighton meets Thailand and NOT 4 Seasons, Mandarin Oriental or even dare I say, Premier Inn… The only saving grace are the staff who are abundant and wonderful.

Beautiful beach resort. Came on Honeymoon for 7 nights of a 3 week holiday and loved every minute! From the 5 star pick up at the airport to the greeting from thr GM at check in. Make sure and rent a moped and explore the island, hotel offer this service. Spa is fantastic, staff are hospitable and very extremely helpful. Hotel very clean with beautiful grounds. Bring plenty of insects repellent! Highly recommend.

Amazing holiday with extremely friendly staff. The hotel rooms are big and spacious with a decent sized resort. The spa was amazing we did a 4 hour package and felt sp good afterwards! The breakfast looking out onto the beach is a memory not to be missed! I wouldn't have dinner there though loads of local eats to visit.

The Layana is a beautiful, small hotel on a nearly perfect beach.
The sunsets to be watched directly from the excellent restaurant "Tides" are a dream, the food at the highest level supports this experience and certainly makes it unforgettable.
The facility is well maintained and built for the eye. This is also the biggest drawback of the Layana, to my regret you can not really go through the complex centrally, but always have to go through behind the houses.
All in all, a beautiful resort that can be put to the heart of those looking for rest.

The hotel is first cream. Very friendly and helpful staff. We travel in the year 4-6 times. Pools, beach and rooms are in perfect condition. Food and drinks excellent. We were also often out of the way. With the "Taxi" no problem. The guests are mainly D, GB, ch. The diving base is well.

We had a great stay and the staff is VERY friendly. We will come back for sure :)

Too expensive for what and where it is. Overall service is not great. Things feel a bit worn.

The check-in is very special, as you arrive at the beach with your own boat and are completely checked in in the bar — lounge area with a view of the beach.
The location is right on long beach where you can take very long walks and all around are some very good Thai beach restaurants.
The resort has a SPA pool in the garden area (Very quiet) and a beach pool, at both there are always enough loungers and it is always a quiet and pleasant atmosphere.
The loungers on the beach are very comfortable and for the size of the resort there are enough sunbathing areas + a really great towel and bar service on the beach. So that you can have snacks and drinks brought to the beach and in between ice water is refilled again and again.
The bar has a fantastic view, is well sorted and the cocktail selection is very good and varied.
The breakfast selection is varied and everything is made possible here as well. The only thing possible. Once replaced, the freezer in which the cheese is located, the age-related discoloration, was the only one at the buffet that could disturb the eye.
The restaurant is also fantastically located, right on the beach and on the table. Levels so everyone has a good look. The card is varied and the price performance according to the hotel category. The food was always very good to good and the wine selection is varied.

Spent ten days here and have really deliberated over the score. On the assumption that 4 represents a seal of approval, I'm afraid it would have to be 3. Some of the staff were very friendly and proactive but the place has had a change in its senior management team quite recently and I suspect the place is in transition. There was also an unpleasant smell of drains during our stay, I have to believe that's also a temporary state of affairs though. The gym was decent for a resort of that size but the place as a whole just really lacks the polish of the Pimalai, the island's other luxury resort. It's worth noting that the island itself is more geared towards the backpacker end of the market.

As always very quiet and restful, even if with Stefan the longtime GM has left the hotel gen Bangkok. It may be interesting to see whether the new GM, Mr Schlemmer, can maintain the high level. L.

Had a coffee at the barside pool, blend could be better, and the male staff seemed pretty cold and unfriendly. Other than that other staff are lovely & it's a nice resort.

Without doubt a 5 star experience. The usual Thai hospitality which is unrivaled. Beachfront villas… spas sauna massages. Gym. You name it… the ultimate relaxation retreat. Oh and I forgot to mention … the restaurant on the beach … with quality fine dining food on offer. Will go back here many more times in the future. Can't recommend highly enough. Restaurant manager, Clement, was awesome.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very spacious, clean and very well Equipped. All the pools are clean and well maintained. The beach location and view is the crowning! Enjoy the sunset every night in good weather. It was very nice stay and we would definitely come back!

Showed up at Layana Resort without a booking (as usual) after arriving on Koh Lanta. The GM came up to say hello later since no idiots really do that at a luxury hotel. Hostels yes, wellness resorts no. We were driven there by our newly befriended tuk tuk driver who was also on the ferry. We took him out to dinner the next day but I'll save that story for later. Such an amazing human being and now a FB friend too! Layana Resort, which we later found out has won several prestigious awards, is situated on Koh Lanta Yai, the more southern of the two Lanta islands. The Tides Restaurant on this adults only resort is home to the best fish we've had in Thailand so far and that is a very generous compliment because we know our food and we have had ALOT of fish. 'Layana' means a pause in time. As you watch the waves crashing in from the infinity pool, it all makes sense. I can be found on IG under JourneyingWithTab for anymore recommendations/ideas. Very modern hotel on long sandy Beach.
Under Swiss leadership excellent food, beautiful Infinity pools, very good gym. Rooms are very spacious and perfectly equipped.
Excellent staff. We can also recommend the excursions offered by the hotel, both cruises and the excursion to the nature reserve short way to the city with everything you need.

Bliss. Heavenly retreat. From the moment you arrive you are pampered by the unbelievably friendly staff. The rooms are immaculately maintained within a serene setting filled with palm trees, 2 beautiful pools that look out onto the beach. Laze by three pool go for a swim at the beach which is at your doorstep our book in for sensational massage or hire a scooter and cruise down the road to the town and browse the markets or grab a bite to eat. Dinner at the restaurant is 5 out of 5 stars. A great selection of fine dining and extensive drink menu. Very reasonably priced considering the quality of the meals. Gym has equipment needed to do workouts and is clean and very well maintained. This is a place I will come back to again and again. Couldn't recommend highly enough for anyone wanting a omniscient to unwind and clear the mind and detox your body. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Great value for money in out of season…

Outstanding service and luxurious comfort in an idyllic setting. They went out of their way to ensure our wedding day was perfect. Our guests commented on the extremely high quality of the food and drinks available at our reception and the ceremony itself was like a dream. The whole experience is certainly worth the money as it truly is 5* living. Ignore any disgruntled reviewers, they don't know what they are talking about and clearly judged too harshly and too quickly. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Layana is far and away the nicest hotel I've ever been at. The attention to detail is astounding. The staff are extremely welcoming and cater to your EVERY need. Frankly, there wasn't one aspect of this hotel I wasn't blown away by. I understand now, after staying there, why it's the top-rated hotel on Ko Lanta!

Pleasantly quiet, all maintained, breakfast tasty and all super friendly!

I can't fault Layana Resort and Spa. It's far the best place I've stayed in Thailand. The pool area is fantastic, and the staff are incredibly attentive and friendly. We rented mopeds from reception, and while they were a bit more expensive than in town, were well worth it to have the freedom to visit all of Koh Lanta. The cocktails at sunset, especially during happy hour, are a highlight. Try the one in the coconut!
