Very nice quiet place in the middle of town, room is incredibly clean. Very welcoming staffs and helpful, tons of activities. I would stay here again when I come to this town. You couldn’t find any place better than this in Chiang Mai. Two thump up. I would come back for sure.

This is a cosy two storey hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai. Called after the large Tamarind tree in the centre courtyard it is in a great location for tourists and smashing breakfasts. A bit expensive for alcoholic drinks but overall great value for money. All staff are exemplary especially at reception and serving breakfast.

We just had an amazing time in Tamarind Village. The location is excellent with many restaurants, shops and SPAs around. The staff is very friendly and helpful, specially a big thank to Candy and Pinky. By the way I really loved the bath products with jasmine.
The hotel has offered a complementary walk tour to visit 3 temples nearby which I enjoyed a lot.
Chiang Mai is a must visit in Thailand, I wish I had reserved for time here as 3 days wasn't enough. Definitely a place that I want to return one day.

Very quiet in the middle of the city — a lovely respite! Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms tidy and nicely appointed.

The most beautiful place to stay… the staff were wonderful, and the rooms and grounds breathtaking.

Family stay for five nights, ate at restaurant a couple of times. High end food by local prices, but top notch : everyone really enjoyed every dish. Hotel staff all very friendly and helpful, nice rooms good Wi-Fi etc. Incredibly peaceful feel given the location, two steps from bustle of old city but somehow very calm day and night. Great time very sorry to leave…

Spent a week here. Great central location, comfortable rooms, breakfast was great and lots of delicious local dishes for dinner. The spa treatments were awesome and every one of the staff were so kind and helpful. Would highly recommend it.

Very disappointed. The room was very small and did not have any Thai character. The hotel is in the middle of old city so the heavy traffic noise when sitting outside is annoying. The food tasted like it was sitting in the freezer for along time and had no freshness. What a waste.

Dirty pool, small rooms, lukewarm service and very basic breakfast. Had dinner in the restaurant and ordered three signature dishes which turned out to be total let down and super salty! I even returned one that smelled and tasted burnt! The waiters were inattentive and impolite. The rice came with the dishes was cold and of very poor quality. The only saving grace of the property is the location.

Great restaurants at the tamarind hotel. Live acosjtic sets nightly and a large menu offering. The waiters are attentive and very welcoming. FYI the bill is subject to a 10% service fee on top of tax. If the weather is nice, I recommend sitting outside near the pool!

It's a hotel with a lot of charm it's all taken care of with awesome taste.
If you are looking for traquulidad and peace here you will definitely find it.
The staff was very helpful and the food was excellent.

If you want to stay in old city it’s a good location. But the owner is really bad to the employees. She yelled several times when she talked to the employees. Bad experience. Rooms are very small for what you pay.

Excellent hotel in the middle of the old city. Rooms were large, with great facilities. The hotel impression is being an old historical building comes over well in a relaxing atmosphere. It within walking distance of the attractions, restaurants and bars. We went on the hotel's histrionic walking tour which was excellent and would recommend.

Loved the hotel and the staff could not do enough. Enjoyed the free walk susie was the best. Breakfast was very disappointing for a vegan. No peanut butter.

Unique retreat like resort right in the heart of Old City Chiang Mai. Excellent service with a calming ambience and great amenities. Although right in the heart of Old City, once your behind the walls of Tamarind Village you feel like your in a boutique resort far outside of the city.

Tamarind Village is a tranquil Oasis in the middle of a busy tourist area. From the moment you walk in you will feel instantly relaxed. From the bamboo enclosed driveway, the open air lobby and restaurant, and the comfortable rooms it is a peaceful resort. The location is perfect for those that want to walk to locations like the Night Bazar, the many Wats in the area, and many local restaurants. The staff is kind and accommodating.

Excellent presentation of the dishes, foods are cooked in full respect of their taste that in these parts is a rarity. A kitchen that excels and distinguishes itself also for its own refinement. Cozy and refined environment! A note I can do on the wines, I found only one Italian wine, council at the restaurant among the white "yellow Ribolla" among the Reds "primitive of the", two wines with a valid value for money.

I really like the hotel, didn’t use the restaurant, only for breakfast, which was what you expect. Helpful, happy staff everywhere, very pleasant room, it’s not great for sitting round pool as few beds, but most people are not there for that.
Great location, … my only personal gripe is no gym, but that’s personal!

Antique Lanna Hotel The quiet temperament is full of artistic style The restaurant itself is located in the Sunday Night Market Street, but during the day night, this bamboo forest will be able to lock the lively street in this path! Well. I was so disappointed. Garden is pretty good, staff is kind and the location is excellent. However, room is too small. Cannot stay in the room other than sleeping. No chair, nothing to seat down. Not recommendable compare to the price. I paid more than $200/night. If you do not mind small room with only beds, then it is okay.

It is a restaurant/hotel with very good facilities but has opportunities to improve the service.

Excellent hotel! We loved it, I would give. It 4.5*s due to the rooms being not very well insulated from noise. Could hear the room above walking around and talking — minor problem and always slept well. Beautiful hotel, excellent setting and staff that cannot do enough for you. Hotel food a little over priced compared to local eateries, but to be expected for the dining service/atmosphere and good quality. We will be back!

Disappointed…
The setting is indeed beautiful but we were not able to enjoy it. With a swimming pool more than enticing by this warmth we chose to eat there, but surprise the pool is reserved for the people of the hotel. You eat right next door without being able to swim or spend the afternoon at the poolside (while consuming of course! ).
So addition to 1600 Baths (for two dishes and two desserts) and we just could watch the people at the hotel bathe.
As for the kitchen, the dishes are around 400 Baths and are not very good. The desserts on the limit are worth it.

Loved this place! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Welcome drinks and cool towels were a blessing as we adjusted to the crazy heat/humidity. The rooms were nice with great AC. The free breakfast was top-notch! Soooo good with lots of options. The pool (and grounds) were kept incredibly clean. The temple tour (included) was a great experience — — we even did an offering and received a blessing from a monk. They handled our group of ten with ease. Tamarind Village was the ideal "Zen" experience!

Rustic artsy feel. Lovely hotel in the heart of old town Chiang Mai with easy walking access to food, markets, temples and massages. The staff and amenities were top notch! Breakfast on site was a treat as well. Wish we could have stayed more than 2 nights. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful authentic building, right in the center of the old city. Nice pool, good restaurant and comfortable rooms.

Great location and lovely place. We had some minor maintenance issues but the friendly staff did all the right things for us. It's a good place for families as well and the staff can recommend local points of interest. When we had an issue with a delayed flight the staff contacted the airline (following our request) and got us another flight that suited our schedule much better. We will gladly come back again on our next visit to the city.

The Hotel is just great In the centre of the old walled city a little oasis and the staff are just the best I would recomend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Chiang Mai.

Very pleasant Thai restaurant in an original boutique hotel, nicely airconditioned, live music, quite good service. Since my last visit a few months ago, they no longer have evening happy hour promo on beers & wine… hence I deducted 1

Great location. Great hotel. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Breakfast poolside is awesome. Do the free city walk.

We had dinner by the pool with a gentle live band serenading us, then the next day we had lunch inside but still with a pool view. The atmosphere; excellent. The service; a little slow but not a problem. The food; delightful. We consider this to be the culinary highlight of our two weeks in Chiang Mai. Next time we will try the hotel and spa!

So ok it's not high class 5 star compared to some places we have stayed yet it appears far better than other establishments in the area. It's definitely 5 stars in the sense it ticks all the boxes, beautifully quaint, amazingly quiet great staff and accommodation with wonderful food it's not cheap and their massages/ spa treatments are UK prices? Though you do get a 30% discount. Drinks are also dear. Plenty of free water always 4 bottles in our room … we have so far had a wonderfully chilled experience Would certainly recommend :-)

Great way to end a long hot day around the city with authentic thai meal at a quiet exclusive setting not too far a walk from wat chedi luang temple. Tamarind cooler was refreshing! complimentary banana chips were not oily at all! would recommend a friend to go too :)

Lovely place to stay in Chiang Mai and very central which makes visiting all the attractions and temples Chiang Mai has to offer easy to see as you can just walk outside the hotel.
