Nice bathroom, design and decoration. Rooftop is a must-visit!

If there were option to give 10, I would of. We've stayed in this hotel for a week. I felt like I am staying in my friends house. The staff are so welcoming, helpful and friendly that I even can't find the right words to describe. Not all of them speak English, but somehow we did not have any problems with communication. Location is greate, 5-7 min walk to Old city. Breakfast is amazing, fresh cooked, Japanese style, taste delicious! Very clean room and amenities. I liked everything about this hotel. Staff, room, sauna, food… It suited me very well. Minimalistic, Japanise style, comfortable, room has everything you need but nothing extra. Very functional. If you are looking for extra soft bed with twenty of pillows and chocolate on it, than this hotel is not for you. But if you want to feel welcome and see a real smile when you come in — enjoy the stay there as much as I did. Thank you.

I really wanted to like this place as it seemed great (and they also upgraded my room) however — this place is super over priced while both cleanliness and breakfast were dreadful. Location: the location isn’t great — it’s a good 10 min walk to the closest gate (Chiang Mai gate) and the walk isn’t pleasant (dark busy road) — it’s in the middle of the Saturday market but any other day — the street is dead. I’d choose a location in the old city instead Rooms: room was actually lovely, wooden bath — although the rooms are really really small. Yes, the toilet overflew on the first day (from using toilet paper which I wouldn’t expect in a place like this to cause an issue) — they unclogged it and didn’t move me to a new room, so it still wasn’t flushing well for the duration of my stay (and I used the bins for toilet paper! ) they also have hot water, good Wi-Fi and decent air con Breakfast — first I got the ‘asian’ one they give out. It was dreadful. It wasn’t anything I had seen or tasted before (a brownish mess) and I lived in Asia for several years. They made me instead fried eggs with white rice which tasted odd … a small buffet with fresh fruit, rice and boiled eggs would have been perfect! I didn’t eat breakfast after that glorious first morning Onsen: it is only open for 4 hours a day (6-10) never got to test it out Cleanliness: that was by far the worst part. I stayed for 3 nights. The room was ok but not super clean when I got it.

Japanese style hotel complete with onsen baths and sauna. Worth staying at least once for the experience.

It's a wonderful RYOKAN! We love here! People are super sweet and their dog Jessica is adorable! And super AROY breakfast!
I'll definitely stay here again when I come back to Chiang Mai! Highly recommend to stay here! You'll love this place!

A truly unique Chiang Mai boutique offering a little slice of Japan in the center of the bustling Saturday night market. Rooms are beautifully presented in a traditional Ryokan style with a bath, robes, minibar and television. Breakfast is well worth paying for, including a continental style buffet, poached fish, rice and vegetables. The staff are courteous and very helpful, and the facilities on site, including a Steam Room and a Japanese restaurant are fantastic. Very much recommended for value, location and facilities, with no real complaints to be made!

This place was great! Spent a couple of days here and had a fabulous experience. Wood at the front desk was amazing, all staff very attentive and helpful, you also get to pet jessica! Breakfast was delicious and the terrace really nice. Lovely place, very clean. Oh and the Onsen at the end of the day was super nice and relaxing. Walking distance from everything.

*If don mind to walk distance between 1-3km, HaikinRyokan is a good spot to go places! Airport, Shopping Mall and at least 3 Market is just surrounding HaikinRyokan!

We can't get over how friendly and accommodating the staff is here, not to mention the official greeter, Jessica (a super sweet collie). My wife is a strict vegetarian and they made her tasty and creative breakfasts every day like salads, sushi rolls, fruits, and tofu-based plates. My breakfasts were great as well, especially the chicken wonton soup. The room we had was clean and the cleaners did a good job every day. We also loved the style and location. Note that on Saturdays there is a night market on Waulai street and the hotel grills fresh seafood out front. The market is great to walk and we will return for the food while we live in Chiang Mai.

Very friendly staff, Japanese style hotel in the middle of Chiang mai. I really recommend this place. Has an Onsen with water from hotsprings… Breakfast the best!
