168 Chiangmai Guesthouse Hostel

It's really cool place for backpacking. Nice and kind staff. I had a great 2 night stay in Chiangmai. So cheap and comfy. They also served affordable yummy breakfast. Thanks Will be back here next time.

Good location. Shops and cafes are in walking distance. Room and bed are very clean. Staffs are nice and friendly. Food is ok.

This hostel is the cheapest it can be found in Chiang May, so don't expect a great standard!
12 people per dorm, dorm doors that don't lock, beds are glued to one another and mattresses are really not comfortable! The showers aren't great either, but clean.
On the other hand, the rooftop is very good, you can land there and make a machine if necessary.
The location is fine.

Staff is incredbly kind and we felt truly warm heart! I had to leave very very early and I didn. T want to disturb her morning sleeping. But she came several hour before her regular working hours for me to make sure with beautiful smile! Very well maintained and very clean place also^^

Very good hostel ideally located in a quiet street just this side of the old town. You will be relatively quiet (no traffic in the street) while enjoying the benefits of the city. The hostel is very clean and train to the offenders! The owners are very friendly and very good advice: they know everything! Finally the very affordable price is introduced more for backpackers!

The best place in Chiang Mai, I returned many times and always was absolutely happy. Staff of the guest house is very friendly and always trying to help. Also the rooms are nice and beds with curtains give you a bit of privacy. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends. ❤

The best guesthouse in Chiang mai. After a roadtrip it was time to relax I stayed 2 weeks feeling like home in 168. Thank you so mutch to the best staff in this great and super clean guesthouse.

Typical hostel. Close to the old city and night market. Clean and good food.

The biggest positive to this place was the large beds. They were bunk beds, but wide ones, not skinny ones like normal. We stayed in a mixed dorm with 5 bunks, so 10 beds. There were many bathrooms and showers, so finding a free one was never an issue. The doors to the dorms didn't lock which was weird and felt unsecure at the beggining, but it was fine. They provided you with a key for a small locker, but I ended up using my own lock. There is a rooftop terrace for hanging out at night time. The location was very good for being able to walk into the old city Square. It was also nice that they provided free water since it's something vital to Thailand. Much better than having to pay the outrageous prices at 7/11. I would definitely recommend.

GREAT HOSTEL! Possibly my favorite hostel ever. The rooms are clean and spacious. But what makes this place shine is the staff. Besides just being lovely people they really want you to have a nice time. The food menu is varied and everything is really good. The owner even made my friends and I tasters plates of some dishes while we were hanging out on the porch. I lost my sandals and they gave me a pair. On top of all that, the the guests are fab, everyone has such a good time they end up expending their stay and I've met so many wonderful folks.

Best guesthouse of Chiang Mai without a doubt! Friendly staff, cheap and good food and definitely the perfect place to meet people! Hope to see you again soon guys!

Very clean hostel for the price, friendly staff. There are both air conditioned and non air conditioned rooms.

We absolutely loved our stay!
Very clean and secure; even in a 12bed dorm you have a lot of privacy because of the curtains; cozy common area and welcoming terrace. They sell beverages almost cheaper than 7/11.
You really get a lot for your money :-) But nothing tops the staff! They are so lovely and helping and remembered us even after a two day absence! … I definitely recommend staying here when in Chiang Mai!

One of the best budget places I've been to in this area. It is basic but super clean — which is hard to find for this price. Owner and staff are friendly and helpful. Aircon works well in the AC dorm. Mattresses are a bit hard but that's common in Thailand.

Best budget hostel in Chiang Mai. I tried three different places before I found 168 Chiang Mai guesthouse. Nothing fancy but everything you want in a hostel — clean beds & bathrooms, friendly staff, good Wi-Fi. The host was even kind enough to let me shower and use the common area to store my baggage — three days after I had checked out before my flight. Great place, five stars. Oh and the location is perfect, just north of the old town.

I absolutely loved my stay here. As far as guesthouses go this could not have been better. It was very clean, very quiet in the rooms and I loved the option of female only rooms. There were curtains around each bed for privacy and each bed had its own light and power outlet. And the staff/manager were superb. Truly the best. Helped with anything I needed and gave great recommendations. Absolutely stay here if you are in Chiang Mai.

Great staff, good AC, cheap prices. The Wi-Fi isn't the best one in town, but it does the trick! A really good value hostel for the price!
