Really fun hostel that lives up to its rep as being the best party hostel in Bangkok! Met some really amazing travelers and expats. The staff was very nice and helpful. We’re looking forward to our next stay at the end of our trip!

Amazing atmosphere and and staff are lovely. We have been traveling a while now and this is by far the best hostel we have stayed in.

A group of 6 of us stayed at the hostel last week — such an amazing atmospher. Very welcoming! Great bar area open until late with happy hour from 5-7 and a drinks special on all day every day! You can get pizzas delivered and breakfast across the road. The rooms are clean and have plenty of space! This has to be on you list if your visiting Bangkok!

For a solo traveller (who maybe slightly nervous about meeting people) this is the PERFECT place for you. It is the friendliest, most welcoming and social environment you can find in Bangkok! The social space, games and staff make it so easy to meet people. The dorms have great big lockers for your bags. The showers are powerful and hot. The location is perfect (a local area with corner shops, atms and the best pad thai). It exceeded all my expectations. It feels like a massive family and I won’t hesitate to come back. I could not recommend this place more!

The dorm rooms were clean, had bag storage, were fairly comfortable and the communal bathrooms were well maintained. The place has a great atmosphere for the most part and during the day the staff were pretty helpful. There were some negatives though. It's pretty far away from Khaosan road. You're looking at spending a minimum of 80 baht in a taxi to get there, or walking for about an hour. If you're happy to just party at the hostel it's not really a problem. It became an issue when I was trying to get a bus ticket elsewhere, in which case your choices are to cop the trip into the main area or book a bus ticket online. There's nowhere to book tickets or tours anywhere nearby. I also found it frustrating when the group I was with were happy socialising, having a few bevvies and playing some card games and the staff members came up and were practically screaming at us to drink more and tried to force everyone to play their drinking games instead. One staff member would not let up with this which really ruined my night. The drinks are also pretty expensive compared to other places.

A great hostel, possibly the best hostel I've stayed in since last September. The staff was friendly, the crowed was lively. All around a great place to stay.

Great hostel all around! Rooms and facilities are kept clean, with cleaners around all day, the dorms are decent sizes (made sure I read up and booked an aircon room). The aircon comes on at specific times during the day (5pm-7pm) and then again at 9pm until 11am, which is great! If you’re complaining about it not being on during the day, get outside and explore! I think the thing that made this hostel 1000% better was the staff! Unfortunately I had to cut my stay short due to a job offer, but had an amazing time for the nights that I was there! All the staff get involved, and personally I feel that’s what makes a hostel! It is definitely a party hostel, but even so, the music stops at midnight, and then after you don’t hear a sound! Will definitely be back to try the rainbow shot challenge, cheers guys!

During my backpacking trip from Thailand back to Singapore. I stayed at Playground Hostel and here is my review on it. Facility: For a backpacker what we need is a comfortable bed, personal lockers, a chill environment and of course a clean toilet. Well this place exceeds all of those expectations. The toilet has a shared concept so dont be surprise about it. They even have a bar, a cool hang out spots to play pool some mini party games like beer pong. It is a good place to make friends and of course get somewhat cheap drinks. Just dont expect to get an early sleep because they play loud music all the way until around 11pm. Lastly the Wi-Fi's not bad. Ambience: Really chill vibes in the morning. Nice to relax have a nice walk around and make friends but it gets really fun and party vibe at 7pm all the way to 11pm. Security: They have people standing by at the bar area the whole night and you would need an excess card to enter the rooms area so I would say its really safe for a hostel. Service: The people here are amazing I'm telling you. They are nice people especially the boss there and the Thai people working there. You will see some backpackers who have actually been working there for a month or so as well. They always keep the place clean and gave us the necessary tips needed while travelling around Bangkok. Best of all during one of the nights we had a mini gathering with the backpackers there and we all went Khao San Road together to go clubbing.

My first experience staying at hostel! And this place has blown my mind! It was an amazing experience. Every one in the evening gather up in the common area and slowly as the night grows old the the party gets better. The staff is friendly they help you a lot. Would recommend every one going to Bangkok! I write this review packing my bag have a flight tonight and really one of the saddest movement in my life to leave this place.

Really enjoyed the short stay there recently. The atmosphere is quite enjoyable in the lobby, and the staff is very courteous and friendly :)

One of the coolest hostel in town… stayed there for 3 days and made many friends out there … awesome bar and chilling area where you cn meet everyone … cozy hostel as well.

Nice, clean and be surrounded by good people But if you dont like to party that much you might be annoyed by music all the time.

The hostel is situated just outside of bangkok city centre off a main road down a quiet street. While not in the centre it is easily accessible via the bts skytrain which is only a 10 minute walk away. The hostel itself has a really big bar area and all the guys there are nice and happy to help out with anything. The rooms are a good size, you also get a quality mattress even in the cheapest room and the biggest locker I've experienced! Only downside is that a couple of the showers were broken which means a bit of waiting sometimes but other than that a great hostel.

It's by far the best hostel I've stayed in. Such great people who run it and it's the perfect base for exploring Bangkok. Saying that you don't really need to leave as it's so much fun hanging out there 20/10

Quite far to the center, rooms are clean, mattresses are perfect, safe cage where you can put your entire backpack, staff is very cool. Bathrooms and toilets could have been cleaner. At night, the reception turns into a bar, but you still can sleep.

Where do I start? The atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly and the bar is an amazing starting point for a crazy night out. Trust me I had a few of those. Definitely leaving Bangkok a broken man. Shouts to all the guys who work there. I’ll be back.

we had a good couple of nights out together, really helpful with travel advice to! Definitely made friends there that I I will meet up again! Highly recommend.
