The resort is outstanding, unique and authentic african/jungle experience. They only have 13 villas if I remember correctly. Each villa/bungalow provides absolute privacy and your own garden just for you to use. We were welcomed by the sales manager Emi, who was incredibly friendly, helpful and explained everything in the intro-welcome tour. If you report any issue/concern, Emi deals with it immediately and goes beyond everything to resolve it! Amazing. The accommodation was spacious and great. We tried garden bungalow and also ocean-front villa with a private pool. The villa was amazing, superb, unique, simply the best. We would not choose the garden bungalow (it has insufficient insulation and you can hear the night jungle all night). The hotel provides room-service free of charge, therefore you can order your meal/drink to your room, to the beach, to jetty — and they have phones everywhere so you can call them. The dining experience in this hotel was also great — they provide a la carte option only, but this is the best they can do and is absolutely worth it. The dinner menu is never known beforehand, but the chef prepares it every night based on fresh ingredients he has that day. The atmosphere in the restaurant was always amazing including authentic african performances, and the staff is simply stunning, friendly, smiling, always helpful, they know you by your name and remember you. This hotel really exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it to everybody.

This resort is a pure gem! I extended my stay here 3x! It was impossible to leave. Fantastic food, beautiful villas, breathtaking tropical garden, amazing calm atmosphere and unforgetable hospitality. And the heart of this resort is the staff — most beautiful humans I have ever met! So helpful, kind and attentive! Best resort I have ever stayed at! Could not fault a single thing. You are coming as a guest, staying as a friend and leaving like a family. Cant wait to come back again.

Fantastic experience. We spent 3 nights at Zanzi (Villa 11) this August. Starting from the welcome (Karibu) the staff made our stay unique. They are kind in an unbelievable way and try to do everything to satisfy guests' requests. The resort: it is perfectly integrated into nature and the flora is luxuriant. The atmosphere is relaxed but, at the same time, you could feel the uniqueness of this resort, as well as its elegance. However, it is true that outside the resort there is nothing (to do or to see). The private beach is small but perfectly equipped. The jetty is fantastic and leaves you breathless. The SPA is another plus of the resort: I strongly suggest you to have one or more treatments there. The pool is small, but it perfectly matches the capacity of the resort (even if it was fully booked, sometimes we felt like we were the only guests). The excursions: the staff can arrange for you all the private tours you can imagine. We took the Spicy Farm+Stone Town private tour and the Prison Island one. The second one was really below our expectations and not really well organized (our guide did not speak English for example) but the manager did not charge for it: that's an excellent policy for the guests in my view. The meals: breakfast was served until 4.00 p. M. (relax mode) and they cook everything fresh. Honestly, the quality was excellent (on a 10-point scale, I would rate it 8, 5) and the service, as usual, too.

We had the most beautiful wedding at Zanzi Resort in January. However, the resort failed to legalise our marriage documents even if this was part of the package we paid for. This means that we had a nice party but the marriage is not recognised in Finland! Furthermore the resort is not corresponding to my emails. Really disappointed.

I just finished 4 days at Zanzi with my now wife and was utterly blown away by my time here. We travel a lot and have stayed at many of the nicest 5-Star establishments across the world, nowhere have I felt more taken care of than here. From the moment we arrived everything from our pickup, to the reception once we arrived all the way through to our departure was nothing short of flawless. The staff was amazingly attentive and accommodating without being intrusive. The food was outstanding for every meal; everything a la carte no buffets, whenever and wherever you want it (jetty, pool, beach, room, dining area, etc. ). Everything is local and dinner rotates daily which was amazing. Our room was similarly outstanding (eco-villa) and the grounds were impeccably well kept. We not only honeymooned there but actually had or ceremony on the beach, and when I say they went over and above, I truly mean it. They took care of EVERYTHING, gladly taking any input or requests we had and asking questions when needed to make sure everything was as you’d like it. I cannot have imagined it all going better. I don’t know when the next time I’ll be in Zanzibar is, but I would not even think about staying anywhere else. I actually felt like I wasn’t paying enough for what I was getting here, a thought I’ve never once had in my travels to ~30 or so countries, until Zanzi.

Our expectations reached our goal to have a relaxing and secluded journey Me and my friend are well traveled women and here we must say that the experience in Zanzi Resort was beyond our expectations.
We level this place as a boutique resort with all the facilities that meet the needs of a high class holiday travelers.
Not only that the resort location is in a deep forest with exotic nature and villas which are representing the African style but the feel of satisfaction comes from the friendly and professional stuff, the chef with his exquisite and delusions meals, the driver who attempts all your personal needs to see other places around the island and the Security Masai who were always there for us.
We recommend to have a romantic dinner on the pier with a personal Butler where you can admire the sunset and experience unforgettable moments.
Special thanks to our driver Othman who never seized to make us happy, to our waiters Khamis, Alex and others, to our restaurant supervisor Nivot and the sales and marketing administrator Linda. All of them made us feel special.
As a summary the resort is one of the “ must” visit in your wish list.

Outstanding experience, beyond expectations! Our stay at Zanzi Resort was a unique and incredible experience.
From the minute we arrived at 10 pm the attentive staff and the chef made certain that we could enjoy a late signature set menu dinner. Me and my friend were trully grateful.
The resort setting was breathtaking: our discreet villa was nestled in the lush gardens offering a sense of privacy combined with that feeling of relaxation and freedom. The villa itself was just… spectacular African design. It was very hard to leave that villa behind… The dining experience matched the high standards of the resort. We even had the pleasure of enjoying a private dinner on the pier with a beautiful view of the sunset — thanks again to the efforts of the butlers Khamis and Alex. It couldn’t get more magic than that!
Wherever we went around the resort we were greeted with the heartwarming smiles of the staff: Linda (sales & marketing), Paul — the Masai Security, Nivot — the supervisor, Othman — the driver. So, for a short trip, we could not have been more blessed to have found Zanzi Resort. It has to be, without a doubt, an absolute gem.

Excellent, kind of like and cozy place, really five stars, no entertainment, it is relaxation, the impression of a large spa salon.

My wife and I spent a few nights here on our honeymoon after enjoying some time at their sister resort on the Indian Ocean side (Zanzibar Queen Resort). This gave us the awesome opportunity to experience both sides of Spice Island! First, the beach… after all, you're in Zanzibar! The beach is definitely on the very small and rocky side, and the tides here are extreme so be prepared for that. Now, the resort does their best to overcome this with a long pier that juts into the ocean (allowing for all-day swimming), but all-in-all, a pier is not a beach. Regardless, the "beach" they do have is OK (at best) and low tide allows for some fun tidal exploration (which is cool), but if it's a beach you want, it's not here. And as a side-note, a sign at the beginning of the pier claims it is one of Zanzibar's "best places to view dolphins", however, that claim is patently false (per management). In fact, you will "never see a dolphin" from there so I have to ask why that sign remains. Sure, you could say this is a largely insignificant point to "complain" about, but I'm not complaining, rather, mentioning that the sign should just be removed if it isn't true. Past that, the grounds are very pretty and natural, and feels like a jungle (complete with birds, lizards, and bush babies aplenty). The food and drinks here are good (and better than Zanzibar Queen Resort) so that is definitely a plus — hats off to the chef!

First I want to start saying once again THANK YOU so much to maria and her team for making our stay a dreamstay! From the check in till the checkout it was a fairytale! And we really know what we are talking about because we travel all year long around the world and always stay in 5 stars hotels but here we can really say the service and kindness of all the team was more than everything. We booked the hotel in last minute and after the first email I sent I directly had the feeling that our stay will be wonderfull because Maria was so kind and easygoing! She arranged everything for my friend's birthday. We stayed there for only 1 night and our only regret was to not beeing ablo to stay way much longer… Maria has a wonderful intimate resort, forget all those big resorts from famous brands with kids running everywhere and all inclusive buffets! Here you will have a piece of heaven by staying in one of their wonderfull villas : garden, swimming pool or beach. You can choose half board or full board or all inn. The food is a la carte and very good! (and u get in on a very raisonnable time for zanzibar) if you have any request they made it for you.! We stayed in a pool villa (thank you so much again for this amazing gift) The villa was really big, very clean One Super confortable bed, very nice shower, beautifull garden with a nice pool with current! And a great beach view!

This place is pure class! I visited it twice and I will sure go back again! The rooms are beautiful and cosy. The staff will always help if you need something. My favourite thing was going to safari, life-changing experience! If you are on a special diet, they will prepare meals especially for you.
