A little piece of paradise! Just finishing 6 days here and can not recommend it more highly. Comfortable rooms, great beach and pool area surrounded by lush tropical gardens.
The jewel in the crown though, are the staff! Always smiling and happy to help. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. A genuine luxury retreat.

Staff is absolutely fantastic! We really enjoyed the high quality in service, excellent food and the range of daily activities. Having the bed turned down for us at night was a real treat and we would highly recommend to anyone looking for some R&R. Thanks for making our vacation so enjoyable.

All you want for short vacation, nice clean room, lovely staff, quick check in, tasty food with live music shows every night. Had lovely three days at Zanzibar Queen and very well recommended. I will definitely come back.

This hotel truly matches it's name. Everything, from the airport transfer, clean spacious and beautiful rooms, the staff, the private beach right by the hotel, the food to the very kind hospitality of one of the owners (Marta) … Everything was amazing. The Matemwe beach is splendid. Perfect for bicycle rides, long walks, touch rugby, and the OH so beautiful Moonrise… This beach will have you down on one knee proposing to your SO in a moment's notice… If you are on the look out for a cozy little spot on a one of a kind beach… Then Zanzibar Queen is the hotel for you.

Hello we spent seven days at the Queen Zanzibar and frankly to spend disgusting beach and especially the surroundings a hotel away from everything, the restaurant fro. Privileged your holiday in the north or the beaches are much more beautiful.

Very nice place, helpful and intelligent staff. The guys know their stuff! Romanticheski vacation, or just leisure, will be provided!

Hotel-Boutique! Food is delicious. At the highest level. The service is top notch. In the morning the device, Antikomarinnuju a grid raise. In the evening enter, a grid lower, curtains close, Mazgan include, if is turned off. All vkzhlivy and friendly.

Clean and cozy rooms. Friendly and agile staff, delicious food and desserts. Pineapples are a must to try.

A really friendly getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Quite isolated, so not too great for keeping kids entertained. Good for snorkelling and scuba diving. Beware of the urchins in the sea when walking out in the shallows. There are tours to go out on, but not much else to do outside the confines of the resort. The staff here are really friendly and helpful.

This place is amazing! Food is the best we've had so far touring around Tanzania. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Sunday night there was a BBQ buffet with great live music! Everyone got on the dance floor.

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon here after an 8-day safari on the mainland. First, we were elated to see that beautiful Indian Ocean upon arrival (especially after a week in the African bush)! I will begin by saying that the staff was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, and they even pleasantly surprised us with an upgrade from a "regular room" to their Honeymoon Villa (which was pretty awesome of them — thanks again)! Overall, the staff deserves 5-stars without a doubt, they were all great and made sure that our honeymoon was extra special! Now, I'm sure you're asking why I rated this place 4-stars then… well, mostly because Google won't allow me to give it 4.5-stars. So with that said, their beach was great (despite a consistent swarming of locals upon beachdwellers just looking for some sun and surf). But hey, we are in their country, and they're just looking to make a buck where they can so I can't say that is a major complaint on my end, just something to keep in-mind should that be a burden to you. Frankly though, I found a smile, friendly convo, and Tanzanian handshake often brought the sales pitch to an amiable end (but again, I always encourage people to keep in-mind the locals and their circumstance, and to remember that you are a visitor in their land, regardless of "how much you paid" — a sentiment that I find often goes amiss with the "resort crowd").

Great hotel, staff very friendly and friendly! Cleanliness at a high level, cleaned twice a day. Food is delicious and varied. Daily different entertainment programs! Everything is super! ) We loved it.

What a treasure this place is! Marta and Kasha go out of their way to create a special environment for their guests.
My room was modern, spacious and comfortable. The hotel has beautiful gardens, crystal pool and amazing cuisine. I recommend it wholeheartedly!

Zanzibar Queen is absolutely five stars! I couldn't fault anything — the design is good, the gardens are lovely, the pool is great and the rooms beautiful. Everything you need is there and the staff are very friendly and attentive — you feel looked after all the time.
And the food is just amazing — it will blow your mind! I have eaten all over the world and the meals here are world class.
I couldn't recommend this hotel more, and can't wait to come back.

We just got back from 3 glorious nights at the Zanzibar Queen. A wonderful spot right on the Indian Ocean. I chose this hotel from Google Maps as I wanted something right on the water, and not all hustle bustle. We came after a couple of nights in Stone Town and just wanted to chill. No detail is overlooked at the hotel and everything is catered to. Wonderful staff greets you at check in and at every turn. The eating area is lovely and meals are fabulous. I was up for sunrise each day to capture some photos and also some of the grounds since it's like paradise. Thanks for the memorable time Zanzibar Queen. I will be posting some of the photos on my Facebook page =)

Had an amazing time here! The staff were super friendly. So much so that I extended my stay. They made every effort to accommodate my needs. The food was great, too!

Best hotel in Zanzibar for couples Very unique and amazing food.

Choosing this place for my holidays was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! The whole place is peaceful and simply beautiful. The rooms are quite big and spacious. I’m into active lifestyle so I was happy I could attend both yoga classes and diving course there. Fresh fruit salads in this hotel are awesome. Matemwe Beach is one of the best in the whole wide world!
