Fish Eagle Point

We stayed on Night at Fish Eagle Point. We paid $10 pppn to camp there with our overlander and rooftop tent.
While the overall lodge and complex is beautiful, do know that this is a huge place. As a camper in overlander, you are far away from the restaurant, bar or pool that this place has. You're not allowed to have a fire near your car, only on the beach and you're not allowed to park on the beach due to the tide.
So even though the place was beautiful, I have mixed feelings about it. It was full of unfriendly construction workers when we were there, the manager was nice but took us through the 30min grand tour of the place when we were just trying to check in and park. Camping bathroom is OK but in middle of trees so you will find giant spiders and other things living there.
If you're here to stay a few days and stay in one of the rooms, it's worth it. For overland camping, especially just for one night, not really.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Fish Eagle Point in Tanga, and I must say, it was an experience that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine hospitality that made me feel at home.
My stay at Fish Eagle Point was nothing short of wonderful. The combination of excellent service, beautiful accommodations, and delicious food made for a memorable getaway. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to experience and the beauty of Tanga. Whether you’re traveling alone, as a couple, or with family, you will not be disappointed.

Fish Eagle Point was the perfect destination to hit the coast from the Usambara Mountains. A little slice of paradise so secluded but so special. Simon, Steve, Cathy and their whole team do such an amazing job and accomodate for all budgets. We never went hungry and the beers always cold! We had a perfect simple eco hut on the beach and fell asleep to the sounds of waves and bush babies. This isn’t 5 star accomodation and doesn’t want to be but it is all you need to relax, swim and enjoy nature! We took kayaks out into the mangroves and went snorkeling in the clearest of water, swimming on high tide and sunsets on the deck! We had the best time! Asante Sana.

This place is quiet and off the beaten path and I feel supports many of the local community. The owners were very upfront with it not being a 'luxury' resort, but this did not matter. It was rustic, but still comfortable and relaxing. The staff were great, and the views were wonderful.

The Kingfisher sunset deck was my favourite sundowner spot. Perched high on the corals; the deck affords a wonderful setting to end to a busy day with the sun dipping so majestic labels the Eastern Arc of the Usambara mountains in the west. I joined this over lander couple from South Africa and we had amazing conversations of their travels through Botswana; Zambia and other places down south.

Very beautiful hidden spot at the Indian Ocean, beautiful rooms on the beach. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful environment. Very friendly staff and tasty fresh food. Enough to do in and around the ocean, like kayaking, swimming, snorkeling. I would really recommend to stay here and I am definitely coming back.

This place is a hidden gem. You are out by the beach on the Indian Ocean enjoying the beautiful views and getting in touch with nature. The service is 25/10. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food is divine, breakfast is always started with fresh fruits. They run mostly on solar energy which is amazing.
There are many fun activities available like kayaking, snorkeling, beautiful beaches and a gorgeous sunset deck. The owners, Steve and Kathy, are wonderful and friendly people. I cannot recommend this hidden gem enough. We cannot wait to come back.

We spent three days at Fish Eagle Point Lodge. It has a fantastic location with rooms on the sea shore surrounded by coastal forest. It has a lovely lounge, bar and dining area on the bay and lookout points to best experince the views. The rooms are comfortable, the food good and the service excellent. We did not dive but it is well set up for diving off coral reefs. But we took a boat trip out to sea to look for sea birds along the reef.

After three months of intense field work (in tourism at Kilimanjaro – believe me, I have seen behind the walls of many (touristy) places) I was looking for a place on the Tanzanian coast to nurture and recharge body, mind, and soul. I have never been attracted by Zanzibar because it seems to be overcrowded and touristy and I also did neither want to fly nor take the boat to the island. Thanks to recommendations by friends, I ended up at Fish Eagle Point. Fortunately. This beautiful place and its lovely people fully recharged me with warm hospitality, delicious and fresh food, and great nature-based activities: snorkeling through a lively coral reef, canoeing through the peaceful mangrove forest and the soundscape of the many birds, running on the beach during sun rise and sun set, doing yoga on the veranda over the ocean, meditating while the moon was rising over the bay, listening the sound of the waves, and going for (barefoot) walks on the seafloor, to name just a few.
I am amazed by how Cathy and Steven keep Fish Eagle Point in its remote location with no direct access to freshwater running and thus, make it habitable, while living with and caring for (local) people and the environment. All staff was extremely attentive, flexible, and supportive throughout my stay. I asked for vegan food and the chefs mastered my request excellently.

Amazing hidden gem of a place. The most amazing hosts. Idyllic bungalows right on the shore hidden in natural mangrove forest, surrounded by nature. Great snorkeling, great food, kid friendly. Total back to nature experience with a touch of luxury. A place to relax, unwind and recharge in natural surroundings away from the busyness of modern life! We will be back! Thank you for making us soooooo welcome ❤️

We went as a couple for 2 nights. We had the Hermit room, which was beautiful with a private beach and balcony too.
The owners Steve and Cathy along with the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Food was very delicious and meals always served with a dessert.
Our experience of snorkelling and first time kayaking was something we loved and would definitely try again.
Sunset and Sunrise can be viewed from Fish Eagle Point.
A must place to visit for the nature lovers.
