Emerald Bay Resort — a relaxed casual intimate resort hidden away from view at the southern tip of Pemba Island — an absolute paradise. The rooms are comfortable with a spacious bathroom and excellent hot water shower. There is a good size swimming pool set in beautiful landscaped gardens — a ideal place to spend a lazy afternoon! All dining is on the roof top terrace — dinners are delicious with lots of fresh seafood caught locally. All the usual breakfast foods available plus GREAT pancakes and local doughnuts! All staff absolutely super friendly and helpful. We were met by Luca who hosted us throughout our stay and we were warmly welcomed into the Emerald Bay family. Luca took us out on the boat (dhow) each day to the amazing pristine white sand banks and turquoise warm sea — totally magical and relaxing. Emerald Bay is truly a genuinely special place, out of the tourist hot spots and absolutely in tune with nature and the location. We loved our stay.
Thank you to Luca and Raphael for creating the perfect finale to our East African adventure.

One of the best hotels I stayed in. Very nice staff, special thanks to the hotel manager and her husband for the great hospitality. The views are amazing, the beach is 2 mins away. The rooms were very clean and tidy. Food was more than great, thank you very much guys.

Spent three nights at this Resort with a group of people. If you are looking for peace and quiet, coupled together with a spectacular environment, look no further. The resort itself is surrounded by lush tropical greenery with incredible views of the ocean. It's designed with authentic Pemba in mind, you'll get the sense of seclusion with amazing service to match.
The food and service is excellent and staff are extremely attentive. There is no direct beach access, but they organize daily trips (weather dependent) to a near by sandbank and will set up complimentary tent, chairs and coolers for you to enjoy the bluest and clearest water you will ever swim in. Even though we went as a group, there was still enough space for everyone to do their own thing then come together again for meals.
If you want an island party on the beach, go to Zanzibar, but if you're looking to unplug and relax, then you cannot go wrong here. Highly recommend.
