Hotel Tilapia is a hotel with great ambiance. Situated along Capri Point on the serene shores of Lake Victoria and only minutes away from town. It is a place where you can relax at our Nirvana Spa, sunbathe at the swimming pool, enjoy a delicious meal at one of the restaurants or cocktails at the famous SP Bar. If you are planning a business trip, Hotel Tilapia provides a business center, conference facilities and a FREE wireless network throughout the hotel.

This is an elegant hotel in mwanza; not the flashiest, but yet classy. Yet two problems:1. There were what I perceived as subtle racism by the female white manager overlooking the breakfast room overlooking the lake. Of the guest in that room, two white south Africans to my recollection, I was the only one who was asked to provide proof of my residency in the establishment. This was really silly, that even the other guest were amused. I have lived my life in Australia, and never experinced such a petty act by a manager. And only experience it in a black majority country. I was not bothered by the act, but wished it didn't happen. With the rising middle class, and growing nationalism the last thing this great hotel wants is petty racism accusation. Training on how to approach matters concerning inherent racism is needed. 2. Please fix the road toward your hotel. Otherwise, good hotel.

Lovely view of Lake Victoria, chilly breeze and some nice Fish straight from the lake. Loved it.

We had a good time here. The menu card is huge but a lot of stuff is not available. The food took always a bit long but it was always tasty. Rooms were very good.

Tilapia Hotel is Awesome. The view of Lake Victoria from this hotel is amazing. It's very peaceful to be here. You will love it. Many white people love to go to this hotel.

It's an old hotel but still the best. The management is Indian which makes the service superb.

Relaxing Hotel on the Victoria Lake waters edge. Large food menu to suit every bodies taste. Relaxing, smart and quaint with a hint of old style times gone past. Added attractions are the different corners for Japanese food, Spar, Massage etc etc. A must visit if travelling to or through Mwanza, certainly worth a day/night visit.

Nice and cheap hotel in the area and nice food… staff are quick in service or it was our happy day… many complain about service which is slow… but for me it was somehow quick or I think it was my order which is quick to serve…

I reported to have forgotten my I Phone charger at the coffee shop. It was kept safe until I fetched it. I love the way customers are being attended. I recommend it as one of the best hotel in Mwanza.

Has an amazing view of the city spanning the lake and the local scenery, so definitely good for drinks, especially at twilight. It tends to be pricey, so I don't go as often as I would like to. They also do not have happy hour.

Elegant place to recharge your energy while enjoying Lake Victoria the mother of life to Lake Nile.

The place has good amazing view, it is on bay of lake Victoria and it is very close to the Mwanza Yatch Club. It is a good place for sunrise when you are in Mwanza. It has an amazing mixed of type cuisine.

I ordered at the restaurant, waited for my meal with my colleagues for 40-50 minutes to find out the waiter (Paul) didn't place my order with the kitchen. Paul (the waiter) said he "forgot". So what's the point of having a waiter that doesn't place customers orders? What's his purpose at the place of work then? In the end I had to place another order. The food wasn't great and afterwards the staff has a passive aggressive attitude. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for business lunches or dinners where time is important. No concept of service exits — they operate on the principle of: you give us money, we give you food, and whatever else happens we couldn't care.

Excellent place to stay in mwanza. Good rooms, good staff and good and reasonably priced food. Excellent ambience. Moreover walking distance from town.

Been here several times and they always have great food although the service can be slow. Amazing view. Good place to chill with friends.

Went there for lunch and had an enjoyable time sitting by the lake. We ate burgers and pizza and enjoyed our time. The service was not fast, but it was competent, and the ambiance was good.

This is the most luxury place ever, its headed near sane national park in Kwanzaa Tanzania, you can go in this place to remove s traces due to its surrounding s. There is a time where the crocodiles come near it. H. I just appreciate its is the most amazing place I have ever gone duh\\\\\ I really love it.

If you're tired of local food, this is one of the best restaurants in Mwanza, in my opinion. The food I had was delicious and presented well. Prices are between 13, 000 — 22, 000 for a majority of the menu.

Fried and roasted whole tilapia was good. Nice location and reasonable prices. Will visit again.

Best place to stay in Mwanza. Kept coming back and sent all my friends and colleagues here too. Loads of character, great staff, fantastic location on the lake, good food (especially the curries) pool and bar. Highly recommended.

Why Tanzanian barely say "I'm sorry" especially in service area. I called and confirmed rooms. But they don't send me e-mail about booking confirmation. I called again and he said those rooms are gone. He just repeated no vacancy. He never said 'sorry' and did nothing. Yes. This is Tanzania. But hotels have to have their own standards and keep it even if it's peak season.

Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Restaurant is nice with good service. Beautiful views and walking distance to the town center.

Great bar, pool and view. Cant go wrong with the food most of the times (chefs having some fluctuations from time to time). Id always go for the sizzlers. Best in TZ. Wouldn't stay here though. Rooms can't keep up with the rest of the place.

Great views of Lake Victoria, an extensive menu, and excellent service.

Set out in the banks of the lake victoria, had an oppurtunity to see the sunrise in the boat docked in the lake. Food though good, takes a boring long time because of the inexperience of the service guys. The staffs are friendly, has a good Wi-Fi connection, rooms are well maintained.

As the name suggests, you can order for tilapia fish fresh from Lake Victoria and enjoy your meal as you view the lake.

Good hotel in a great location on Lake Victoria. From the terrace we have seen otters, eagles, various storks, herons, Ibisse and Marabous.

Amazing Scenery and views of lake Victoria, Islands and Natural Mwanza Rocks, the Breeze is just on point. The Waiters are too slow, poor services but a good menu, desert area. A historic elegant place for a pleasing leisure time.
