We stayed for 4 nights and had absolutely heavenly experience, the weather, the people, the service, the accommodation, the food, the location, the view, the purity and tranquilities, all amazing.
I came back yesterday evening to my place, but already started missing it all. I am so much looking forward to visiting them in Ester holiday for sure.
All the staffs were so friendly that we love to go there again and again.
Must visit place.

The view is spectacular, specially the sunset and sunrise… Rooms are comfy. Bathrooms are not so good though. Overall it's decent.

Admittedly, this place is a little hard to find on your own. We used a bodaboda to guide us till there and back to town when it was time for us to leave. Once we reached there, the long drive was so worth it. The room we got was absolutely amazing. And the view that we woke up to for the time we were there was to die for. The staff there were very accommodating and lovely we had great food and yet again a great view while we ate. It is a pet friendly place too. Our puppy enjoyed playing the grass and had the time of his life. They also do have a drivers quarter for a minimal charge. This trip was a purely leisure trip for us. We didnt indulge in any activities around lushoto town (however we did take our unfinished painting to complete it there) incase you are looking into some activities, would advice you to check with the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay, your staff is welcoming and kind, the cottage we had was wonderful and overall we really love the thought-through concept where authentic development for the community plays a crucial role. All in all we can only recommend this place to our friends and motivate them to come as well.

MamboViewPoint is a beautiful place to stay with stunning views across the plain below. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Meals at the communal table are social and enjoyable.
The owners are present and continue to do amazing work ploughing money from the eco lodge and their charity back into the local community through well considered and sustainable projects.
We did one hike in the rainforest with guide Joseph and a two day round hike to Rangwi convent. We gained insight into life in the Usambaras and enjoyed the views. Highly recommend.

Whilst Mambo is a little tired in places don’t let that put you off.
If you stay here you are putting your money into the community, this is not owned by a business owner taking massive profits, it’s owned Marion and Herman who have done amazing things for the community of Mambo.
Water, schools, health, education. I’m in awe of what they’ve done.
We loved our stay Joseph our guide was brilliant, also Nourou (probably not spelled correctly) was just lovely and a stand out member of staff.
Plenty of good food. There’s a communal table for meal times and we met lots of great people.
Highly recommend Mambo View Point. I think often the word “eco” is used as selling point but Marion and Herman really do walk the walk.

We visited this place with a rented 4x4 camper. Not really well maintained, but very relaxed atmosphere. Highly motivated well educated staff.
Located in the Usambara mountains on top of a mountain. In fact the lodge and camping covers the whole top of a mountain. Spectacular view over xxx.
Campsite itself is located on one side of the mountain. Availibility for max two campers, narrow places. No kitchen area, no electricity, no water available.
Showers and toilets needs maintenance, however they are usuable and clean. Hot water on request (heated by firewood). Local standard.
The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. Dinner was very good. All guests are sitting on one table with the Dutch owner. Normal price level.
It gets cold in the evening which is refreshing after hot days in Tanzania.
Price level is well acceptable for Tanzania. Far below European prices and really valuable.
Would we come again? Yes, the cosy atmosphere, the spectacular view deserves a second visit.

We booked a whole package with hiking in the Usambaras, safari at mkomazi national park and accommodation at three different places with the highlight staying at mambo view point eco lodge.
We want to thank everyone involved in the project at Mambo View Point for accommodating us and creating such a special place for both local people and tourists and the environment as well.
We enjoyed the stay, the beautiful place, the stars at the sky in the evening, the perfect Organisation by our hosts and the wildlife at mkomazi national park a lot.

Wow, what an amazing accommodation in a breathtaking place.
From the moment you arrive you feel the tranquility and you are overwhelmed by the beautiful wide view. The room was really top notch! Super clean, spacious, good beds with nice warm blankets and a nice spacious and clean bathroom. The staff is super nice, speak good English and are very helpful and at night you can do very good stargazing and even see the Milky Way. The food is delicious, all freshly prepared and culinary local cuisine.
Only compliments and I will definitely come back again.

A mark of a great lodge is its management, Shakira was so friendly, accomodating and I think she genuinely helped cater to all our needs. Even when addressing a few issues/complaints she was very gracious and heard us out. Mambo View Point is very lucky to have her managing and hosting their visitors.

I already gave it 5*, but I need to say more :D. What a sight! Even before you enter the spectacular location that houses the Mambo View Point Eco Lodge, you are filled with this sense of out-wordly peace and tranquility. So green, so earthy and you are literally above the clouds during the early mornings. I would equate the views to lodges in Serengeti if it were on top of a mountain. No where else has come close to it.
Accommodations: 4*
The rooms were spacious and nothing beats the views. I wish they had plushier and maybe warmer bedding though. Also the bathroom needs TLC, the toilet was leaking and smelled something nasty. My 4* are for being spacious and the views tbh.

I am truly disappointed by the service. It was unlike any we have received in other parts of Tanzania. To be honest, we did ask for a lot of requests as we brought our own food for BBQ. However, it was really annoying as every single employee wanted to be tipped for every request. I remember when we asked for the water heater to be turned on for the nightly shower for the kids, the employee first wanted money — which is not normal behaviour in my opinion.

I went with few friends and stayed at another place nearby and wanted to revisit these beautiful mountains so went to check Mambo view point for some inquiry. Firstly, no one was at front reception and didn't let us go in to the second reception in their restaurant area. We asked for the accommodation charges and also if we could have a drink and some food at their restaurant while we climbed up anyways. They said surely we can and we placed our order. About 15 mins after the order is placed, the manager comes and says us that we have to pay for day visit pass per person which is 10k tsh. Surely not big amount but that was cheeky not to mention beforehand or written anywhere. As we already placed the order for food, we thought to agree and asked if they give us any form of receipt or something so we go back to our lodge for afternoon activity and come back for the sunset view while we already purchased the day pass! On that the manager said that we cant come back as they have a party that evening so in short they made us pay for the day visit pass for eating at their restaurant. If we would have known in advance for the day pass, we would have choose to not eat there. The hot chocolate was terrible. Paying from mobile money, the manager asked to include withdrawal fees which is not any business practice in whole of Tanzania at all! So if you decide to stay there, Good luck dealing with such customer service!

A great stay at Mambo view point! The staff is very welcoming. Food is delicious and a it is a good place to meet people, relax, tell stories close to the fire and be close to nature. Rooms are clean and comfortable, well isolated. I can't wait to come back! And of course an incredible view! Unforgettable. You can hike closer and also do a village tour. Asante sana!

Mambo Viewpoint is a unique and special place. The views from the terrace are outstanding. The rooms are cosy and have gorgeous views over the Usambara Mountains. The manager Shakira went above and beyond to make us welcome and incredibly kind to our two young daughters. She was a joy to share our meals with.
Chef Joseph and his team cooked delicious and healthy breakfast, lunch and dinners. It was some of the best food we’ve had in our year in Tanzania!
The owners Marion and Herman who set up, and have owned MVP for 16 years shared dinner with us which made for a fascinating evening.
We will certainly be returning to MVP and cannot recommend it highly enough. It’s a rare and unique place.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mambo Viewpoint. Shakira was incredibly welcoming and was very patient in answering all our questions and offering suggestions for activities. We were unexpectedly provided a free upgrade to the “honeymoon cottage” because of some other guests needs. The food was awesome and the chef was very accommodating of our vegetarian preference. The views from our cottage and from the restaurant patio were outstanding. Birdwatching was great just outside our cottage door. Minor (very) inconvenience of intermittent electricity (they are off grid), and Wi-Fi only dependable at restaurant and common lounge area. No matter, we loved our visit!
