Good service, room quite New.

Basic but decent rooms, friendly staff. Perfect for a short stay in central Taichung and a short walk from the lively night market and shopping area.

1. Group hotel, room clean and quiet, smoke-free taste 2. Pillow personal feeling soft 2. Breakfast is mostly Western, but on toast, horns, ham, hot dogs, porridge can be fitted with only pickled things. Foreigners eat happy, watch many Chinese eat a little. Hope the proportion can be adjusted!

What differentiates a good hotel from a great one? It's the little details. A high-ceiling, bright sun-lit room (with a view) you can relax in after a whole day spent outdoors. A sofa you can sit on to eat or read at. Coffee mugs with porcelain cup covers to avoid dust settling in your drink. Hooks to hang your bags in to avoid clatter. A shower holder that can be adjusted to your height (doesn't it bother you to have to stoop low when the shower head is next to your head? ). Soft and hard Pillows. But aside from these, it's the outstanding service we have received (in comparison to Twinstar hotel. Review posted). Upon arrival, we requested for early check-in. The front desk immediately checked their system and accommodated us by 1:30pm (in comparison to Twinstar when all we got was instant refusal without any action on their part to even check). Holiday Inn rooms are clean, spacious and I did mention the view right? It was heaven after more than 2 weeks at the previous hotel. Yes it costs a little more BUT IT is Worth it.

Good information supplied by staff about transportation. Laundry room next to exercise room with running machines. Breakfast free downstairs same as other Taiwan hotels. 5 minutes walk to干城站 bus station if going to Sun Moon Lake or Sunzhei and other popular places. 10 minutes walk to train station. Very convenient location.

Nice place. Be careful if driving into the at night. The sign is high up and I initially missed it.

Friendly staff. Beds are comfy. Room is clean. Wifi was not good. Breakfast was alright, I had to wait 5 min for them to bring plates out.

The room was clean and cozy, with a clever bathroom layout. Breakfast was only so-so, coffee tasted burnt. The amenities in the room were lacking; instant coffee, tap water not potable and scratchy towels.

Stayed here for several nights during a business trip. The hotel is in Central District, which is really an older part of Taichung where most of the buildings are old and run-down. The hotel is right across the road from Taichung Park, and there are lots of places to eat around the area. The hotel is actually within walking distance from Taichung train station. The hotel is modern, clean and well maintained. The room (I booked a room facing the park, and asked for one on a higher floor) is surprisingly spacious, bright, and modern. The big wall-to-ceiling window gives you a good view of the park across the road. They actually have rooms facing the inside court-yard. These are rooms with windows looking into the shopping area. Anyone walking along the corridor on the same floor could see into those rooms if the curtains were not drawn. While the room was nice, the bathroom was a little weird: it's only separated from the room by a frosted glass wall. In other words, if you are in the room and someone is showering, you would see his/her silhouette! This is fine if you're staying alone, but totally weird if you have room mates. Breakfast was provided in their restaurant on the ground floor, starting from 6:30am daily; which was nice if you want to start the day early. Their selection of food items was decent: bread, salad, fruits, waffles, bacon, Chinese breakfast items, tea, coffee, fruit juice, etc. Overall, I had a pleasant stay.

The way it is structured is a building with a center courtyard, indoor. So know that if you get a cheaper room, likely it has no view, only view of inside of hotel. Breakfast has a good selection, and is overall pretty ok.

Friendly multilingual staff. Little hi but acceptable price for clean modern room in taiwan. Some rooms only face bldg inward though, so no sunshine there. Heater and ac broke on few diff occassions but easily change room. No free breakfast. Near park and bus stn and mos burger but not much else there. Still alot of taiwanese in that area who can control their staring at people they assume are "foreignborn"
