The Blockhouse is located in Yuchi (魚池) Township about 4km from Sun Moon Lake (日月潭). It is a very interesting building of contemporary design, set back from the main road, within a beautiful garden and surrounded by mature trees. Jim and Bella were perfect hosts, and it is clear that they have put a tremendous amount of thought and effort into creating the tasteful, minimalist interiors and the general ambiance of the place. The food is delicious and Jim will happily talk you through and let you sample his wide varieties of coffees in the coffee shop. The Blockhouse however is not only just a good place to sleep, in the event that the weather is against you, or you are just feeling lazy, it is somewhere you can chill out for the day and relax either indoors or outside in the garden. If you prefer playing Chess, you can also play with the infant sized chess pieces on the 1st floor balcony. The rooms each have a small balcony, and are very well equipped; complete with strong internet connections and home entertainment, should you miss your daily dose of Netflix or other entertainment. We would recommend a visit and we will definitely go back to stay again in the future.
