My private / single room, for a hostel 'dorm', was excellent, because it had only my bed, a couple of wall hooks, a small shelf, a drawer under the bed, and a lock on the door. There's lots of comfortable seating areas outside of the rooms, on the ground storey / dining room area, and on the first storey, where the rooms are located. The common washroom / toilets were clean, though, of course, dependent on the other guests' sanitary and bathing habits. Please remember that this is a shared facility, and the noise that you make, the hair that you leave, the water that you spray all over from the shower will also be encountered by your fellow travellers.
Bed was firm. Courteous and helpful hosts / staff. Hot water available on each storey.
Food not allowed in the dorm rooms. No fridge available.
Reminded me of funky old hotels in the mountains of Japan or Vermont! Huge sitting area friendly guys running it who travel a lot and chat in English. We weren’t there on a day they offer breakfast and I think it’s very much for people hiking in the local mountains or visiting sun moon lake. Pretty basic but clean sheets and towel. We stayed in the hostel just 3m panels between lockable cubicles so light and sound travels. Only one bathroom for a lot of people if they’re full but there’s also a washing machine and cubicles have power and light.

It’s a cozy family run guesthouse that’s close to the bus station. The hostel is cozy and good for a short stay. Though I didn’t sleep well it wasn’t due to uncomfortable bedding, just be aware of how thin the walls are. I was sandwiched between two loud snorers. But it’s my own choice for choosing the hostel room!
