Moda & the Moon B&B

Really enjoyed our stay at Moda & the Moon! The service staff are excellent and really friendly, particularly Rita and the guesthouse’s 管家, who even came back on their day off to see us off. They gave great recommendations for places to visit and local food as well. The rooms were well equipped, new and clean. The toilet has an automatic bidet and warm seat, and there is good water pressure and hot water! Breakfast with the room has 4 options and are freshly made by the staff every morning. We really enjoyed the food!
Because of the guesthouse’s location, the views both day and night are amazing. You can watch sunset and view the nightscape from the hillside. After dark, you can also go up to the top floor for stargazing if the weather is good.
Lastly, the resident cat Momo is a major cutie! You’ll see him lounging in and around the guesthouse all day, and get to pat him as well.

We had a unique pleasure of staying in the best room of the house — 硕月. The “home-away-from-home” experience was truly amazing, especially coming from Singapore where 民宿 doesn’t exist. Every single detail of the house — the design of the room, the layout of the furnishings, the plant arrangement in the garden, the soothing music in the hallway, were all wonderfully thought of. The rustling of the leaves and the sound of the wind definitely unwind one — putting us in a relaxing and lovely holiday mood. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, including momo the cat.

Room decor and amenities are top notch, beds are soft and comfortable, views and service are top tier. 💯
The hotel is located on a mountain side which may require some caution driving up due to steep mountain roads. However the destination is worth the drive as the hotel is located next to a open air view of miaoli below that is amazing both day and night.
The hotel itself is modern and minimalist, and separates its bed and bath from their famous cafe, which one can partake in breakfast after 9am. Hotel guests get 10% discounts from their food.
The hotel spans 3 floors, with the top floor room being a 4 guest room suite. We had the privilege of staying in that top floor room, and the room blew us away. It had controllable shades that we could retract to give us aerial views of the night sky. The beds were soft and comfortable, and the air conditioning for both parts of the large room can be controlled separately.
The bathroom had a open shower area and a bath tub whichever is to your liking. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided and easily accessible from the wall. The toilet itself spots a bidet bowl and heated seat for the best experience.
The room also had an open common area with smart TVs that you could watch Netflix or streaming platforms of your choice. Towels can be switched out every morning by leaving your used towels in a basket outside your room. Garbage can be disposed in a similar manner.
The service is also excellent.
