Backpacker 41 Hostel - Kaohsiung Hostel

Good place to stay. It is very clean, neat, and convenience. Easy to move and travel to different places 'cuz it is near MRT station. Also the price is very reasonable.

Such a bad experience staying at this hostel: Staff: The attitude of the front desk (an old lady) was very bad, especially to foreigners. From what I came across, there were two Japanese tourists who had successfully made a reservation and stated that they would check in late. However, that old lady refused the Japanese tourists from checking in. I do think this act is totally non sense! Facility: There’s only one small rubbish bin on the whole floor. For every single bed, there’s no curtains and bed lights. That means you can do nothing private after the room light is switched off at 11pm.

The bed was very comfortable and the boss was very kind. The gate and the door were unlocked by electronic code, without access.
Very suitable for young travellers. The key toilet has the alcohol spray can disinfect, is great.

A good place to stay in Kaohsiung. The staff was very friendly — I even went out exploring the city with one of them, and she took me to have traditional Taiwanese lunch!

The price is very cheap, from the MRT and the business district Super Close, the administrators are very cute and very kind!, The whole makes people comfortable! Let people have the feeling of going home, PS. The toilet has alcohol disinfection really too intimate!

The old woman working there is too strict and rude to guests. She would not allow us to turn on the air conditioner to relax in the evening even through the rules say that after 3pm we can have the air conditioner on. I smoked a cigarette outside across the street. She wouldn't allow me back in the hostel for 10 minutes. Don't go to this place. The woman kills the good vibes.

This place felt like home. My girlfriend and I both agreed that its our favourite hostel ever.

Terrible service. There is an old woman always annoying. I've stayed many hostels, but this one make me feel like " you just pay, however, the Hostel is mine. So you just shut up and follow my direction. "

Very tidy, regularly renovated like a hotel. The public area allows you to cook simple food. But as a backpacker I prefer a casual friendly place to chat with new friends as only backpackers might know what I mean. A bit too regulated for everything (just my personal preference). The pretty lady there miss lau who I believe she's the boss is a very cool lady and she is nice too. You can ask her everything and she is willing to answer. But the old lady (Yea like everyone else I still have to talk about her) was very annoying, she was darn blaming me for staying one more night without telling her while I just told the boss. Who the heck does she think she is! Like I was paying for the scold and I am pretty upset for this, hope this old lady wont target you to talk to but she's there everyday, good luck everyone.
