The rooms are good sizes. The hotel and restaurant are so charming. Just what you picture for Switzerland. The food in the restaurant is really good. A lot of rooms have either a balcony or access to a terrace.

Great rooms and the best shower I had while touring eastern Europe. Very nice views of the sunset over the lake and Lucerne. Nice staff. Accommodated a large tour group very nicely and I would recommend to other tour groups. Grocery store right across the street. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

We booked this hotel for four nights. The friendliness of the entire staff (including, of course, the nice boss), the cleanliness, the tasty food, the great location on Lake Lucerne is all a very good choice.

Went there late for food when everywhere else was closed. Really nice host and had a lovely lasagna and really good beer. Love the rustic atmosphere!

Hotel Engel is very cozy because it is kept in an old style but there is also a modern part with modern rooms there is an area for children and a bar The restaurant downstairs for its price is really good although not cheap and you get big portions and the Käsef Ondue is the best.

Again and again like to be in this place, very hospitable, and very good cuisine, just to recommend.

Zimmer was generous but cold.
The service personnel not exactly friendly, did not meet us and did not know about vouchers. Breakfast buffet leaves something to be desired.

I stayed at the Hotel Engel while on a tour of Europe in 2006 and it was by far my favorite hotel of my budget vacation. The rooms were spacious, super clean and super cute and the view was incredible. I would definitely stay there again! The meals in the cafe were great too.
