K's Place is a wonderful stopping spot on the way from Switzerland to Italy. It is located in the quiet, quaint town of Grono. Even though it is on the "main" street, the guest house is tucked back behind two houses and is very private with its own parking space. The guest house is quite large and has a full kitchen, three bedrooms, two big bathrooms, fireplace — a complete house to yourselves. K provides the kitchen basics so when we arrived on the late side, there were refreshments, including a chilled bottle of Rose, awaiting us. In the morning breakfast was served on the stone picnic table under a grape arbor — tres romantic. Breakfast included an amazing array of her home-made fruit jams. Less than one block away was a very good pizza restaurant with outside seating, a bank, a general provisions store. K herself is a welcoming, gracious and very interesting person whose English is a whole lot better than our German or Italian. Next trip I will spend two days there to decompress and enjoy the laid-back town of Grono.
